Magnetite Double Glazing is a window maker and supplier that has been in operation since 1998. Their name was based on a unique retrofit double glazing system called Magnetite.

So, what makes the glazing system Magnetite unique? Well, it can convert a single-glazed window into a double-glazed one without window replacement.

Furthermore, they also offer unique products like the Soundtite and Sealtite products. Soundtite is specifically designed for soundproofing and uses a layer composed of acoustic laminated glass and air gaps to achieve an acoustic rating of Rw42.

Meanwhile, Sealtite also has some soundproofing qualities but is more designed for thermal insulation.

Of course, all this fancy tech doesn’t come cheap, so be ready to splurge a bit more money should you go with Magnetite Double Glazing.

Quash Soundproofing, established in 2009, specialises in noise reduction solutions for residential and commercial spaces. Led by industry veteran Nigel Reid, they provide a wide range of products that include soundproof windows, air-conditioner enclosures, and acoustic foam panels.

Their proprietary window product, called QuashIt Retrofit Double Glazed, uses laminated acoustic glass and powder-coated aluminium to achieve noise reduction levels of up to 70%.

While I’m already impressed with their soundproofing window, the biggest thing I love about them is that they offer complete soundproofing packages. 

Remember when I mentioned their other products? You can get them alongside the QuashIt Retrofit for the price of one!

If you’re interested, I highly suggest you set an appointment first on their website. However, their office isn’t always staffed, so there’s a chance no one will welcome you or answer your impromptu calls.

However, if there’s one thing they should improve on, it’s their customer service. Some clients told me that no one answered their queries.

Canon Double Glazing is a window manufacturer and supplier that was founded in 2010. Through their automated window fabrication plant in Wangara, they can create soundproof windows that have Rw42-level noise reduction.

As to how they specifically make these windows, I discovered that Canon uses a combination of uPVC and double-glazed glass to ensure they have excellent thermal and noise insulation.

However, that’s not the only reason why I’m amazed by this company. That’s because they actually use recycled materials to create their products! They recycle leftover materials and defective products in-house for reuse in their production line.

Not only does this make their products more eco-friendly, but it also makes theirs cheaper too.

Sadly, relying heavily on automation and recycled materials has some downsides. Some clients told me that the windows they bought from Canon have noticeable defects, like metal frames expanding rapidly during hot days.

Canon was the cheapest one but offered the same quality
