How We Picked Healing Perth Acupuncturists

Expertise

Acupuncturists may not be physicians, but they still need the proper certification and training to perform acupuncture.

Services Offered

You may be looking to have multiple services done or have a more comprehensive acupuncture treatment. Thus, we chose clinics that offer a variety of services.

Approach

It’s best if your acupuncturist is considerate of your needs and has a welcoming, nonjudgmental demeanour.

Cost

The costs for acupuncture services will vary, but we made sure to choose the acupuncturists who will give you the best value for money.

Pros

  • Offers multiple acupuncture treatments
  • AHPRA registered
  • Reasonable prices
  • Accepts private health insurance
  • Easy to set appointments

Cons

  • Minor reports of unsatisfied clients
  • Service will vary depending on the acupuncturist

Baolin Acupuncture & Chinese Medical Centre offers nearly everything you could possibly need from an acupuncture and holistic clinic.

What we like best about them are their comprehensive acupuncture treatments for different conditions. For example, you can have acupuncture for pain management, women’s health, and stress.

This isn’t an exhaustive list, and you can check out their website for the conditions they offer treatments for, but if it isn’t there, this isn’t a problem. Your initial session with them will include a consultation where you can describe your symptoms.

We appreciate how easy it is to schedule an appointment with them by simply filling up their online form, and you can choose your service and practitioner on the same form.

Client feedback has been overall good, and they appreciated how the acupuncturists took the time to listen to them in their initial consultation and made sure they were comfortable throughout the session.

However, there were minor reports of unsatisfied clients who claimed that they did not experience any pain relief after the treatment.

We can’t entirely put the blame on the clinic for this, and should you have a similar concern like this, it’s best that you talk with your practitioner so that they can help you better.

Of course, the service will vary depending on which practitioner you choose, and it will be beneficial to ask for referrals from their past clients to determine the most suitable practitioner for you.

Pros

  • Offers multiple acupuncture treatments
  • Accepts private health insurance
  • Easy to set appointments
  • Acupuncturists willing to work with your GP

Cons

  • A bit expensive
  • Minor reports of unsatisfied clients

Tao Acupuncture Perth has one main acupuncturist, Dr Kathy Wang, who has a doctorate degree in traditional Chinese medicine and has over 30 years of experience as an acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner.

She specialises in acupuncture treatment for reproductive health and infertility. One of her most popular treatments is fertility acupuncture, which promotes fertility in women who are struggling to conceive.

Thus, most of Dr Kathy’s clients are women who are looking to boost their fertility, decrease pregnancy discomfort or pain, and even induce labour naturally.

However, she also offers other acupuncture treatments for chronic pain and migraine as well as cosmetic acupuncture.

You can complement your treatment with Chinese herbal medicine or cupping therapy, which can assist in restoring your health and relieving pain.

Most of her clients have reported success, especially when it comes to fertility treatments, but there are very few who have reported that they have found no success in her acupuncture treatments.

We can’t put Dr Kathy entirely to blame for this, as fertility is affected by different physiological factors. It is important for you to note that her treatments don’t come with a 100% success rate, and you must still consult with your GP.

Her rates aren’t cheap either, starting at $140 for an initial consultation and $125 for one-hour subsequent follow-ups, so it’s important to come in knowing the limitations of acupuncture.

Pros

  • Multiple practitioners available
  • AHRPA registered
  • Accredited by the Chinese Medical Board of Australia
  • Wide range of services
  • Multiple comprehensive treatments

Cons

  • Unclear fees
  • Service will vary based on practitioner

Ping Ming Health is named after its founder, Dr Ping Wang, who founded the clinic 30 years ago. Today, their team has grown to have several practitioners, and all of their Chinese medicine practitioners have been trained by Dr Wang herself.

They have multiple comprehensive treatments available, using both acupuncture and Chinese medicine hand in hand.

They have a list of conditions they treat including chronic pain, urinary tract conditions, high blood pressure, insomnia, and women’s health issues, such as menstrual pain and menopausal syndrome.

All of their practitioners are licenced and accredited by the Chinese Medical Board of Australia, which gives us the added layer of security that they are professionals doing their jobs.

Almost all of their customers that we’ve spoken to said they had a great experience with Ping Ming Health, from the clinic’s staff to the acupuncturists themselves.

They appreciated how the practitioners were thorough in their work and made sure they felt relaxed and comfortable for the whole session.

Since they do have several practitioners, the quality of service will vary depending on the practitioner you have. You can, however, browse their profiles on their website and choose which one you think is most suitable for you.

They’re a bit vague on their fees, and we’re unsure whether they charge the same fees for everyone. We think they should be a bit more transparent at this, as the only way to get a clear fee breakdown is to call them.

Pros

  • Accepts 26 different private insurance plans
  • Has over 30 years of experience
  • Reasonable rates
  • Easy to book an appointment

Cons

  • Limited information available online
  • Limited range of services

Jinghua Acupuncture Clinic’s main practitioner is Wei Mang, who has over 30 years of experience in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

He specialises in back, neck, and shoulder problems and sports injuries, but he also offers treatment for different conditions such as arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome, infertility, impotence, and allergies.

There isn’t much information available online about him and his practice, but all of the clients we’ve spoken to swear by his services and said they were unable to encounter an acupuncturist who knew their field as well as he did.

Most of his clients come to him for chronic pain treatment, and we can highly recommend him if this is the issue that you’re seeking treatment for.

Should you need more information about him and the treatments he offers, the only way to get this is through a phone call to his clinic. Luckily, his office staff are highly responsive and can answer any of your enquiries.

As for his fees, he charges $89 for the initial consultation and $73 for the subsequent consultations, which we think are reasonable prices for his services.

Mr Wei Mang also only offers acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, so if you’re looking for other treatments like cupping therapy, you may want to look at other clinics instead.

But if it’s solely acupuncture you’re looking for, then we are sure he can provide you with excellent quality care.

Pros

  • Holistic approach to care
  • Caring and knowledgeable practitioners
  • AHPRA registered
  • Accredited by the Chinese Medical Board of Australia
  • Accepts private insurance and workers’ compensation

Cons

  • Can be busy
  • Cost estimates not available online

Chinese Therapy Clinic is owned and run by Dr Chao Ji Xu, who has been practising acupuncture for over 30 years now. He has a doctorate from the Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to further boost his credentials.

He is the main practitioner in the clinic, but when it comes to women’s health and infertility, his wife, Ms Pei Lin Ding, takes over. She has a master’s degree in Chinese medicine from the Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

We were most impressed by the number of loyal clients the clinic has, especially among those who need treatment for chronic pain.

Nearly all of their clients we’ve spoken to reported an improvement in their pain and a better quality of life after receiving treatment from the clinic.

On top of Dr Xu’s and Ms Ding’s expertise, what clients appreciate most about them is how they show genuine care and even offer emotional support on top of the care they already provide.

Because of their expertise, they do tend to be busy, and it’s likely you’ll have to wait for a week or two before your appointment, but we think it’s worth the wait.

We do suggest you raise your necessary enquiries with them through a phone call prior to your appointment, especially since their fees are not available online.
