1. WA Music Co.

Website: https://www.wamusic.com.au/
Address: 1/3 Morris Place, Innaloo
Contact: (08) 9244 9559
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mon to Sat
WA Music Co combines a teacher finder service with violin sales and hire options. This gives families a convenient way to find a suitable instructor and arrange an instrument through the same provider.
With their system, you can easily filter their database by age, skill level, and preferred lesson location to track down the perfect match.
Because they sell and rent instruments directly, you won’t have to scramble to find a beginner violin before your first session. They also back every product with an in-house warranty, so any unexpected repairs are handled quickly.
The main downside here is that you can’t always book a lesson immediately. Teacher availability fluctuates based on your specific requirements, which might delay your start date.
2. Floreat Violin Studio

Website: https://www.floreatviolinstudio.com/
Address: Padbury, Western Australia
Contact: 0407 009 054
Hours: By appointment
Floreat Violin Studio focuses exclusively on violin tuition, with individual lessons tailored to each student’s skill level and progress. This dedicated approach allows students to receive focused guidance as they develop their technique and musical ability.
Beginners learn to read music and play alongside others, while advanced students can prepare for Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) exams or tackle complex classical pieces.
Moreover, the instructor builds every session around what you specifically want to achieve.
In fact, we recently spoke to a parent who enrolled her son here, and she mentioned how quickly he grasped basic posture because the curriculum is so targeted.
One drawback to keep in mind is the strict cancellation policy. You must provide a 24-hour notice to reschedule, and the studio doesn’t provide loaner violins for the actual sessions.
3. Forte School of Music

Website: https://fortemusic.com.au/
Address: U6/2 Batman Road, Canning Vale
Contact: (08) 9256 3170
Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Saturday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Sunday 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Forte School of Music teaches children a broad range of musical skills alongside traditional sheet music reading and piano lessons.
Students can develop abilities such as improvisation, composition, playing by ear, and memorising pieces, giving them different ways to understand and create music.
We love that they build confidence step-by-step through regular small class concerts held every few weeks. Students also get to participate in the energetic Forte Festival, which keeps them motivated to practice at home.
However, navigating their system can be slightly confusing since they have multiple locations scattered across the city. Plus, their Sunday hours are quite limited compared to the rest of the week.

I would really recommend this music school to anyone who are wanting to get their children (or themselves) involved in music. It is full of teachers and admin staff with positive vibes! My daughter has really thrived here and enjoyed the ability to experience and test out all the different musical instruments during the lessons.

4. Jumeirah Music Centre Perth

Website: https://www.jumeirahmusicperth.net/
Address: Suite 2, 22 Brown Street
Contact: 0400 236 598
Hours: Book to schedule service
Jumeirah Music Centre Perth combines Suzuki-inspired foundations with classical violin techniques for both children and adults. Their supportive lesson environment helps students develop their skills at a comfortable pace while building a strong foundation.
Their highly qualified teachers have decades of combined experience and shape every individual learning plan around your specific musical tastes.
Actually, we sat in on one of their ensemble evenings, and the supportive atmosphere among the students was incredibly apparent.
Because they’re a registered Trinity College London exam centre, students can conveniently take face-to-face or digital assessments right in the studio.
That said, the studio enforces strict payment rules, which might deter casual learners. You must pay tuition monthly or per term in advance, and they refuse refunds for discontinued lessons.

I’ve have a fulfilling experience here learning violin as an adult beginner
I’m a new student at the school and I’ve have a fulfilling experience here learning violin as an adult beginner. Both the individual lessons and ensemble events offer an excellent opportunity to better ones skills in both practical work and theory, and gives me the chance to develop my skills to learn with others in a group setting.

5. Keyed Up Music

Website: https://www.keyedupmusic.com.au/
Address: 1/204 Balcatta Road, Balcatta
Contact: (08) 6107 8841; 0479 171 424
Hours: Monday, Wednesday 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM; Tuesday, Thursday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Keyed Up Music offers lessons at multiple venues across both North of the River (NOR) and South of the River (SOR), as well as online options. This gives busy families more flexibility to choose a lesson location and format that fits their schedule.
Instead of exclusively memorising set pieces, their instructors focus heavily on teaching students how to read and write music independently.
As a full teaching member of the Australian Society of Music Educators (ASME), they only hire university-trained or conservatorium-educated tutors.
Keep in mind that instrument availability depends on which venue you choose. Having many locations might also make it hard to figure out which spot works best for your schedule.

My child has been studying Violin with Mr Joseph Lunardi only since she was in primary school Yr2. She then successfully won a music exellence award in St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls when she graduated from primary school last year. We are so grateful for Mr Joseph’s patience, professionism and persistence in music teaching ! I would absolutely recommend him if you are looking for a violin teacher for your child or yourself.
