5 Best Therapeutic Massage Clinics in Perth

How We Picked

Massages offered

We rated how many therapeutic massages these clinics can offer to their clients.

Experience

A therapist’s experience can determine the effectiveness of their massage sessions. Aside from experience, we also factored in if these therapists are accredited and recognised by major institutions.

Availability

We rated whether these therapeutic massage clinics are available on most days of the week. We also evaluated their ability to immediately respond to calls and emails.

Price fairness

The price for a therapeutic massage must be reasonable to most people.

Pros

  • Can bulk bill their fees if conditions are met
  • Private treatment rooms available
  • Preferred by most health insurance providers

Cons

  • Inconsistent service quality
  • Some staff aren’t attentive to client requests

Mount Lawley Physiotherapy is, in my opinion, one of the best therapeutic massage clinics in Perth when it comes to affordability. It’s recognised and preferred by many insurance providers.

This clinic is recommended by many health insurance providers, like HCF and Bupa. Clients can get better rebates when they get their therapeutic massage from this clinic and therefore don’t need to spend too much money.

Another thing that’s really great about this massage clinic is that it can bulk bill its services for clients who have a Medicare referral from a GP. Eligible patients will no longer have to pay for five of their treatments every year.

When I learned about that, I was ecstatic. The idea of not having to pay so much for a cure to your pain is something that I’m really thankful for.

Mount Lawley Physiotherapy also prioritises the privacy of its clients. Its clinic offers private treatment rooms for those who are uncomfortable getting treatment with a lot of people around.

The therapists promise to be discreet with their patients’ conditions. They also try to be as available as they can by opening their clinic for longer hours from Monday until Saturday.

However, a downside to Mount Lawley Physiotherapy is the varying experience levels of its therapists. Some customers felt like the therapeutic massage done to them was still unsuccessful in curing their pain.

Some of their therapists are also prone to not listening to specific requests by their patients. This can lead to a disappointing experience for some clients who want a specific massage treatment.

Pros

  • Offers bundled services for cheaper prices
  • Accepts “buy now, pay later” payments
  • Great customer service

Cons

  • Poor response rate to calls and emails
  • Some treatment rooms aren’t soundproofed effectively

Float & Restore offers a unique way of relaxing to its clients. Its floatation therapy is something that really caught my attention since it’s something I haven’t tried yet.

The floatation therapy is done in “dream pods,” which are filled with water and magnesium to make your body float effortlessly. This therapy has been proven to help patients relax and tune out of the world, at least during the session.

Aside from floatation therapy, Float & Restore also offers therapeutic massage services. If you’re also looking for a calming and warm experience, they have a sauna available for you too.

A great thing about this massage clinic is that they also offer their services in a single bundle. You can enjoy the sauna, floatation therapy, and a massage for only $185.

I’m definitely going to visit them sometime soon just for that awesome deal they offer.

Clients I talked to also praised the Float & Restore staff for their awesome customer service. They listened to requests and took them seriously, especially when the client pointed out a body part in dire need of a massage.

If you really need a good massage but are currently tight on budget, then you don’t need to worry. Float & Restore is working with AfterPay to give their clients the option to “buy now, pay later” for their services.

However, a downside to this therapeutic massage clinic is its poor response rate to calls and emails. This can sometimes lead to problems for people who want to know more about their services and prices.

Clients also told me that some of their flotation therapy rooms weren’t soundproofed effectively. This can sometimes take them out of the experience when they hear someone outside talking to each other.

Pros

  • Offers a huge list of massage therapies
  • Accredited by major massage organisations
  • Uses eastern medicine to augment their treatments

Cons

  • Inconsistent service quality
  • Issues with customer service

Myofix Massage Therapy is a therapeutic massage clinic that I like because of its natural approach to healing the body. It uses Eastern methods like moxibustion and cupping to help its clients relieve pain and stress.

Its unique treatments and medicines are something I’d like to point out. The clinic uses massage therapies and medicines from China.

Their use of traditional Chinese medicines can result in a wholly different experience.

Boosting their credibility, Myofix Massage Therapy is a member of two major massage organisations: Massage & Myotherapy Australia (MMA) and the Association of Massage Therapists (AMT).

I’m also happy to report that this therapeutic massage clinic offers a wide range of services, too. They have different massage therapies, including sports massage, deep tissue massage, and more.

However, a downside to Myofix Massage Therapy is its customer service. Some clients found the staff rude and dismissive of requests and concerns.

Some of its therapists were also criticised for being inconsistent with their services. Some clients told me that they still felt some pain and uneasiness in their bodies after a massage session from Myofix Massage Therapy.

Pros

  • Will entertain clients outside normal business hours
  • Two clinics available in Perth
  • Offers a wide range of services aside from therapeutic massage

Cons

  • Sends automated messages to clients too much
  • Pricey after-hour rates

Perth Wellness is something I’d like to call a one-stop wellness clinic. It offers a wide range of services that other massage clinics in the city may find hard to match.

It has a large staff that’s experienced in different kinds of wellness services. Aside from massage therapy, they can also help you with chiropractic and occupational therapy services.

A good thing about Perth Wellness is its accessibility. I’m happy that they have two clinics, one in West Perth and the other in Fremantle.

Both of these clinics offer all their services. You don’t need to worry about visiting one of their clinics and finding out that the service you need in particular isn’t offered there.

I’m also happy to say that Perth Wellness is amenable to offering its services outside of its normal business hours. This is great because body pain can flare up unexpectedly, and it can be too much to bear sometimes.

As a busy person, it’s a huge plus for me to know that I can rely on Perth Wellness should I need a therapeutic massage in the late evening.

However, a downside to this massage clinic is that they tend to pester their clients with too many automated text messages. I hope they tone it down because no one likes receiving spam emails and text messages.

I also feel that their after-hours rates are too expensive. I understand that emergency services cost more, but some people might not like paying too much for a therapeutic massage session.

5. Tara Massage Therapy

Pros

  • Loyalty program to entice repeat customers
  • Highly experienced therapists
  • Offers a wide range of massage therapies

Cons

  • Massage sessions are sometimes finished too early
  • Doesn’t offer health fund rebates

Tara Massage Therapy has experienced therapists ready to offer its clients a wide range of therapeutic massages.

What I’m really excited about the clinic is its awesome loyalty rewards program. It uses a stamp system that can provide clients with a free massage session if they complete all the stamp boxes.

The free massage session can be used by a friend or family member. I’m a huge fan of massage therapy, and this is something that I’m eager to try out.

As I mentioned earlier, one of Tara Massage Therapy’s strengths is its highly experienced massage therapists. Their experience and knowledge are what make it possible for this massage clinic to offer a wide range of massage services.

Their therapist can provide deep tissue massage, sports massage, Thai massage, and more. Most clients I’ve talked to were satisfied with their massage sessions and were keen on using the loyalty program for their return visits.

However, a downside to Tara Massage Therapy is that some of its sessions are finished too soon. Some clients shared their frustration with me when they found out that their one-hour session was cut by 10 minutes too early.

I’m also quite disappointed to find out that the clinic has recently stopped offering health fund rebates. This can be a serious downside for those who want to save money, especially when other clinics are still offering rebates.
