Enjoy fine wines and picturesque landscapes in the best wine patios in Perth!

There’s something special about enjoying a glass of wine outside. The fresh air, open sky, and natural surroundings make each sip taste even better.

For me, wine patios take this experience to the next level. The cosy and elegant atmosphere always helps me relax and unwind. They’re quite similar to beer gardens (beer gardens) but with a touch of sophistication.

You can experience this amazing feeling for yourself by visiting these refined wine patios in Perth!

Let’s start with Vincent Wine, a delightful Parisian-inspired wine bar located a block away from the Perth Mosque. It’s one of my personal favourites since its small-ish size ensures I can always have a quiet drinking experience here.

It also has picturesque scenery that makes the atmosphere here feel so warm and inviting. In particular, the patio here is adorned with rosemary bushes, young lemon trees, and olive trees, perfect for an intimate evening gathering.

Let’s also not forget the impressive wine selection offered in this bar. They predominantly feature Italian and French wines, which taste so good when paired up with one of their bistro-style dishes like charcuterie and chicken liver pate.

Pro tip: Due to the limited number of customers they can accept at any time, it would be wise to reserve a table here for your next visit. You can do so through this page.

Whenever I visit Scarborough Beach, I make it a habit to stop by The Corner Dairy. Located in Doubleview, this delightful neighbourhood bar has that relaxed coastal vibe you shouldn’t miss during the summer season.

The outdoor dining area here is always an amazing place to relax in calm weather. It has that airy, whitewashed space with spacious nooks and larger tables where my friends and I usually hang out from afternoon till dusk.

Of course, the menu here is also worth looking out for. They have a cool selection of red, rose, and white wines, along with various cocktails. Personally, my go-to order here is their Chinotto Spritz alongside a plate of kingfish ceviche.

12:00 PM – 9:00 PM (SUN)

A list of the best wine courtyards in Perth won’t be complete if it doesn’t mention one from the city’s top food hubs! Let’s check out Lums Wine Bar, a bar with a delightful blend of heritage charm and modern elegance located in Subiaco.

Housed in a beautifully restored 1920s building, it offers a cosy atmosphere with exposed brickwork and an earthy green quartz bar. And while its courtyard is a bit too small for me, it still features a space good enough for a simple wine-drinking sesh.

I don’t visit this bar as often as the others I’ll mention here, but I can confidently say the menu here is good. I’m particularly impressed with their wine selection, as it focuses on natural-leaning wines from regions like southern France.

Pro tip: Lums Wine Bar also hosts comedy shows performed by local comedians! Visit this page to see whether your favourite comedian will be performing here soon!

Address: 190 St Georges Terrace

Operating hours:

6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (MON-WED)

6:30 AM – 9:00 PM (THURS and FRI)

One of the newest wine patios you shouldn’t pass up is Copia, located right in the middle of Perth. Opened in 2023, this charming bar is quickly becoming my new favourite whenever I want to meet my friends and colleagues for a quick meal.

That’s because of its tranquil outdoor space called the Summer Secret Garden. This courtyard is filled with lush greenery and charming tables that let me forget my worries for a moment and tune out from the hustle and bustle of the Perth CBD.

And Copia’s menu is not shabby either. They feature a varied selection of artisanal coffee and refreshing wines imported from all around the world. As for food, they usually serve light meals, including my favourite, prosciutto.

Pro tip: You can actually reserve their entire outdoor space for special events like private sommelier tastings and after-work parties. You can learn more by leaving your contact details here.

Operating hours:

7:00 AM – 10:00 PM (SUN, MON, WED, and THURS)

7:00 AM – 12:00 AM (FRI and SAT)

The Old Laundry Bar & Kitchen is a cool wine courtyard with an interesting history. Once a laundry from the 1930s, it was transformed into a vibrant bar that now serves as one of Perth’s hottest hangout spots.

It still has that industrial look, as it features steam pipes, water tanks, and industrial lighting. These features are more prevalent in their wine courtyard, only this time with a bit of greenery mixed in.

As someone who definitely vibes with this aesthetic, I certainly consider this place one of my top picks. Their menu is another good reason, as it features a rich variety of wines, cocktails, and even mocktails.

Pro tip: If you’re wondering whether you can enjoy their stellar menu for your wedding or birthday party, the answer is yes! Through their catering service, you can enjoy their delicious meals and drinks for your next grand event.

8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (SUN)

Another quiet and charming bar worth checking out is Little Way, located in Nedlands. Being built in a heritage building, this bar exudes a warm and rustic atmosphere that’s great for relaxing with friends over glasses of wine.

And I haven’t even mentioned the courtyard yet, which is already impressive on its own. It’s quite spacious, and it even has a retractable roof that ensures the area always remains accessible no matter the weather conditions.

When it comes to their menu, they actually offer plenty of wine options. They have reds, whites, and rose wines. I usually go for a glass of Coronas Tempranillo, which goes so well when paired up with their black Angus beef burger dish.

Pro tip: You can reserve their spacious courtyard for major events like weddings and corporate parties. Visit this page or contact their phone number for more details.

Lalla Rookh

11:30 AM – 12:00 AM (MON-FRI)

5:00 PM – 12:00 AM (SAT)

If you’re a fan of Italian cuisine and wines, then Lalla Rookh is waiting for you! Located just a few hundred metres away from Elizabeth Quay, it has a menu filled with mouthwatering dishes like pappardelle with braised rabbit and crab linguini.

However, what really caught my attention was their extensive wine list prepared by their sommelier, Jeremy Prus. It features over 300 different wines, including a rich variety of red and white wines imported from the renowned vineyards of Tuscany.

And of course, their wine courtyard is another thing I’m in love with. Its European-style design oozes an air of elegance and class, perfect for those times when I’m meeting with a person I really want to impress.

Pro tip: Don’t forget to book a table here at least three days in advance before your visit! Due to its location and popularity, Lalla Rookh has a tendency to become fully booked quickly, especially on weekends.

Strange Company

Address: 5 Nairn St, Fremantle

Operating hours:

4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (MON-THURS)

12:00 PM – 12:00 AM (FRI-SUN)

Fremantle has its own wine patio, Strange Company, that both foodies and wine connoisseurs will definitely love! Because it’s located right in the middle of Freo’s vibrant dining district, it’s not hard to miss.

One thing I really like about this place is its simple yet inviting vibe. Its patio only features simple table setups, but the lack of tall buildings around it ensures I can enjoy the sun, especially during the chillier autumn days.

Their wine list is also another key reason why I tend to visit this place whenever I happen to be in Freo. Instead of focusing on wines from around the world, they feature those made locally, including wines made from the Margaret River region.

Pro tip: Strange Company is only a couple of blocks away from many of Fremantle’s top attractions. After dining here, make sure to check out historic sites like the Fremantle Prison, the Fremantle Markets, and the WA Shipwrecks Museum.

Wine tastes so much better if you have an amazing view to enjoy along with it! That’s why I love hanging out in the Cottesloe Beach Hotel, which is conveniently located right across from the iconic Cottesloe Beach.

Here, there’s a wide, spacious patio where I can enjoy an unobstructed view of the Indian Ocean. And with their high-speed Wi-Fi connection, you can bet I always spend the entire afternoon just chilling and relaxing on this terrace.

As for their wines, they offer plenty of options like reds, whites, sparkling, and rose wines. But what you should really look out for is their food menu, which features a tonne of Mediterranean-inspired dishes like grilled sardines and crab linguini.

Pro tip: If you’re planning to become a frequent visitor of the Cottesloe Beach Hotel, I strongly urge that you get one of their Clubhouse cards. It’s their membership program, and by joining it, you can get exclusive perks like a 15% discount on all food and beverages.
