Tour some of Perth’s finest bars with Peddle Perth

Contact details: +61 411 448 724

Operating hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (MON-SUN)

Price: Small Bar Rickshaw Tour – $105 per person

I find enjoying amazing booze to be excellent for strengthening bonds among friends. And the easiest way to enjoy these fine drinks is by bar-hopping across the historic suburbs of Perth!

You can bar hop easily with Peddle Perth, a tour agency located in the Perth CBD. With their help, you and your friends will be able to ride your own rickshaws through hidden alleys and vibrant streets while being guided by local experts.

The entire experience will take you and your friends two hours to finish, with each stop lasting up to 30 minutes before participants are encouraged to continue. It begins at the WA Museum and will end at a random bar chosen by your tour guide.

Pro tip: Peddle Perth’s Small Bar Rickshaw Tours is just one of the many unique experiences they offer. If you and your friends are looking to try more, they also offer other activities like scavenger hunts and city-wide tours.

You can learn more about their offerings by visiting this website.

Swim and snorkel at Cottesloe Beach

Address: Marine Parade, Cottesloe, Western Australia, 6011

Contact details: +61 8 9285 5000

How about you spend your bonding time by visiting one of Perth’s famous beaches? Visit Cottesloe Beach in the iconic town of Cottesloe, which is known for its white beaches and crystal-clear waters.

The natural beauty this beach boasts makes it one of Perth’s most popular natural attractions. Furthermore, the lack of strong currents makes Cottesloe Beach a great place for casual swimming and snorkelling, especially if you’re a beginner.

The beach also has a picnic area that features sprawling grass and ample shade, perfect for relaxation and sunset viewing. Before leaving, you and your friends can also visit the nearby Indiana Teahouse for a quick dinner.

Pro tip: While Cottesloe Beach is a pleasure to visit any time of the year, I find the month of March to be the best time. That’s because that’s when the famous exhibition called Sculpture by the Sea is being held on this beach!

This exhibition lasts the entire month and features works made by renowned artists like Johannes Pannekoek and Takahiro Hirata.

Our next destination is the Fremantle Prison, a captivating historic site in Fremantle with a storied past dating back to the 1850s. Constructed by convict labour, it stands as the largest convict-built structure anyone will find in Western Australia.

The prison’s imposing walls house the longest and tallest cell range ever constructed by the British Royal Engineers in Australia. In 2010, it earned the distinction of being the first building in Western Australia to be included on the World Heritage List.

During your visit, you’ll have the chance to see the prison’s eerie corridors, dark cells, and echoing halls while a tour guide explains in detail the significance of these structures and the dangerous convicts that used to live in these cells.

Held every Wednesday and Friday night, this horror-themed tour explores the most infamous parts of the prison, like its solitary confinement and execution chamber.

This tour also discusses the various ghost sightings and urban legends Fremantle Prison is known for, so this is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Try delicious street food at the Scarborough Sunset Markets

Another amazing way to spend some time with friends is by checking out what Perth’s local street food scene has to offer. I find the best way to do that is by visiting the Scarborough Sunset Markets, which are held every Thursday night.

Located on the beautiful Scarborough Beach, this night market offers an enchanting blend of food, music, and sunset views. And of course, its highlight is the over 100 food stalls and trucks that sell delicacies inspired by cuisines from around the world.

As mentioned earlier, music is one of the best parts of the Scarborough Sunset Markets. For an amazing party experience, come visit the market’s amphitheatre, where live musicians and DJs hype up the crowd throughout the entire night.
