- Sat – 10:30 am to 11:30 pm
- Sun – 10:30 am to 10 pm
The chaos and terror that ESCAPE THIS unleashed on our team felt ripped straight from a horror flick—except we were literally part of the heart-racing action. From zombies and vampire overlords to possessed dolls and cannibals, the nightmares were all too real.
Each room delivered its own unique brand of torment too. Objectives range from finding a cure to solving twisted puzzles. Some were relatively easy, like the Zombie Apocalypse, but a few gave us real headaches, especially the Dracula room.
Kick back with movies amid greenery at Northbridge Piazza
From westernforce

We found this town’s communal soul on the grassy refuges of Northbridge Piazza. Locals and tourists alike flock here to indulge in the slow life, greenery, and free movies that never stop playing.
Things really turn up during Fringe World too when the piazza transforms into a hotbed of quirky musicals and gut-busting comedy acts. A December visit is also a no-brainer; expect a light show that’ll make you believe in holiday magic again.
Unwind at Russell Square
From mattpixel

When you’re in the mood to soak up some Vitamin D or chill under a shady tree, Russell Square is the repose point to visit. It’s a perfect blend of sunshine, shade, and solitude, making it a primo spot for folks seeking a little R&R or picnic break.
In addition, your furry BFF is welcome here. Just keep that leash handy, or they might chase after birds (or kids). Speaking of chases, there’s no shortage of benches and water fountains in case your laid-back walk turns into a sweaty sprint.
Catch flicks under the stars at Rooftop Movies
From rooftopmovies
Address: 68 Roe St

Catching a film at Rooftop Movies is like watching Hollywood flicks with the sky putting its best impression of Millet and Van Gogh’s masterpieces. Cozy vibes and starlit views elevate every screening, whether it’s an old-school classic or the latest summer smash hit.
Just remember to prep for Perth’s indecisive temperature. With shows running from October to April, expect anything from tank-top weather to “let’s huddle for warmth” nights.

Holey Moley is one of the reasons why mini golf is unironically huge in Perth. Simple, stylish, and undeniably creative, this putt-putt paradise is a massive hit among families, crews, and even lovebirds looking for a new way to tee off.
What gives this place buzz is the bonkers themed courses, filled with wild, hilarious obstacles and pop culture nods. One minute you’re juking past Elvis, and the next, your shots will be blocked by a Megalodon or Donald Trump’s head.
Belt out tunes at KARA Karaoke
From karakaraoke_perth

Operation Hours:
- Mon to Thu – 7 pm to 12 am
- Fri to Sat – 6 pm to 12 am
- Sun – 7 pm to 2 am
KARA gave us the blueprint for a killer karaoke joint: no frills, just good vibes and solid pricing. A few wall scars showed its long years in the biz, but overall, it remains an amazing spot for de-stressing by singing your heart out.
The soft neon lighting gave off a meditative mood as well, and the song catalog was extensive—complete with an array of oldies, new hits, and even Asian tracks. The sound system was also crystal clear, and the room comfortably fit our 9-man squad.
Where to Eat and Drink
The Standard
From thestandardperth

Contact Details: +61 8 9228 1331
Operation Hours:
- Wed to Thu – 4 pm to 10 pm
- Fri – 4 pm to 11 pm
- Sat – 12 pm to 11 pm
The owners weren’t kidding when they dubbed this place The Standard. It truly sets one. With its top-tier Mediterranean fare and wines that make payday a little sweeter, this spot has a knack for keeping things flavorful and classy.
On our latest visit, we dove into their newest offering: spiced ricotta gnocchi which was pillowy perfection. The flavors hit hard with a mix of earthy and umami notes, all balanced out by salty parmesan and the soft, mild gnocchi.
Hong Kong BBQ House
From hongkongbbq
Address: 76 Francis St
Contact Details: +61 8 9228 3968
Operation Hours:
- Tue to Thu – 10 am to 10 pm
- Fri to Sat – 10 am to 11 pm
- Sun – 10 am to 10 pm
Hong Kong BBQ (HKBBQ House) doesn’t need flashy decor to prove it’s a legend in Perth’s Chinese food scene. If you think that’s an exaggeration, their 1997 rep and loyal fanbase might say otherwise.
The roast duck, for instance, is a Northbridge staple, boasting a crackling skin and richly seasoned meat. But what completes it is the subtle sweet-spicy combo and the melt-in-your-mouth rendered fat, giving every bite an extra boost of Chinese goodness.
Little Bird Cafe and Restaurant
From little.bird.cafe
Address: 100 Lake St
Contact Details: +61 8 9328 1670
Operation Hours:
- Mon to Thu – 7 am to 2 pm
- Fri to Sat – 7 am to 2 pm, 6 pm to 3 am
- Sun – 7 am to 2 pm
Whenever we’re in Northbridge, having brunch at Little Bird Cafe is our morning ritual. Known for its health-conscious menu, rustic-modern aesthetics, and laid-back atmosphere, it’s a spot where the early hours don’t put us night owls in a bad mood.
Our go-to? The nutty buckwheat pancakes stacked high and heavy with farm-fresh fruits like strawberries and bananas. We then typically pair it with their spot-on latte—not too bitter, not too creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness.
Neon Palms
From neonpalms.perth
Address: 245 William St
Contact Details: +61 404 092 899
Operation Hours:
- Tue – 5 pm to 11 pm
- Wed to Thu – 5 pm to 12 am
- Fri to Sun – 12 pm to 12 am
Neon Palms brings the tropics to Perth, matching its colorful decor with even more colorful cocktails that we like to call “stress-busters.”
For us, the booze list’s star is The Honeydew You Know—a sweet pour of honeydew Midori and smooth, not overpowering, Bacardi. Matching it with the flame-grilled chicken burger is our go-to move, as the burger’s smoky profile works well with the drink’s fruitiness.
Northbridge Brewing Company
From nbcbeerland
Address: 44 Lake St
Contact Details: +61 8 6151 6481
Operation Hours:
- Wed to Thu – 11 am to 10 pm
- Fri – 11 am to 2 am
- Sat – 11 am to 10 pm
Northbridge Brewing Company represents the casual but sublime side of this suburb. International and local tap beers put them on the map. Each variety bursts with a distinct profile, from citrusy and dry to grassy and bitter.
The team’s top pick is their full-bodied, smooth Swan Draught, a drink that’s best for light drinking and long convos. If getting hammered is your goal though, go for the Roya Haze IPA, aka good times in the form of a mildly bitter beer.
