Pros

  • Delicious brunch meals
  • Menu has gluten-free options
  • Lively atmosphere
  • Also sells wine

Cons

  • Reports of rude behaviour from staff
  • Too many customers

Sayers Sister is my first option whenever I want to go for a quick brunch before going to work. This restaurant has a great menu filled with delicious meals and beverages that will give me the energy boost I need.

What’s awesome about this restaurant is its lively atmosphere. Their interior is brightly lit, and the walls are painted white, which is helpful in driving off my morning drowsiness.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is also active and chatty thanks to the large number of customers they receive every day.

Another huge reason why Sayers Sister is a great brunch spot is its gluten-free options. You don’t need to worry about compromising your diet whenever you dine here.

It’s also good that they can serve wine to customers. Drinking a cool glass of champagne while relaxing on a warm Saturday morning is always a good experience.

However, I should warn you that Sayers Sister is very popular and tends to have too many customers. Expect to wait a few minutes before you can get a seat at this place.

It’s also disappointing to hear that some of their customers have received rude remarks from the staff. One customer told me that they were treated poorly by one of the waitresses during their visit here.

Pros

  • Located beside Kings Park and Botanic Garden
  • Award-winning dishes
  • Has its own bar
  • Delicious coffee

Cons

  • Slow and inefficient customer service
  • Lacks vegetarian options

Mount Street Breakfast Bar is my go-to after a quick stroll through Kings Park and Botanic Garden. You’ll find this amazing breakfast bar just a few steps east of the park.

You really should try the coffee they serve here. It’s got the right amounts of cream, so the drink isn’t too sweet or too bitter for my taste.

You can also buy the coffee beans they use for $50 per bag.

However, the biggest reason you should try out Mount Street Breakfast Bar is its award-winning dishes. One of their menu highlights is their Turkish poached eggs, which were a finalist at the 2019 Australian Eggsellence Awards.

If coffee isn’t your thing, then don’t worry because they have a bar you can check out. Their wine selection is huge, and they have some must-tries like the Bloody Mary.

However, it’s quite disappointing that Mount Street Breakfast Bar doesn’t have too many vegetarian options. The last time I visited here, the only vegetarian dish I saw was a tomato sandwich.

Another thing I don’t like about this restaurant is its slow customer service. Some of my visits here weren’t so great, as I had to wait a couple more minutes for my order even though the place wasn’t crowded.

3. Petition

Pros

  • Wide selection of dishes
  • Amazing ambience
  • Beautiful interior design
  • Sells its own craft beers

Cons

  • Above-average prices
  • Reports of rude behaviour from staff

Petition is a solid choice if you’re looking to try out some delicious brunch meals without going too far from the Perth CBD. This classy restaurant is open to customers from early morning until late at night.

One of the biggest highlights of this restaurant is the building you’ll find it in. Petition is in the State Building, which is an impressive building both inside and out.

Petition’s beautiful interior design is always a pleasing sight to look at whenever I go for a quick brunch.

Aside from the restaurant’s design, I’m also in love with the amazing ambience you’ll feel inside. Petition exudes an amazing charm with its relaxing music, great amenities, and calming atmosphere.

Another thing I really like here is the wide selection of dishes you can try. Their menu changes depending on the time of day you arrive.

Some of their dishes are also seasonal, so you’ll always have something to look forward to every time you visit this place.

It’s also a great idea to check out their craft beers if you’re a fan of alcoholic drinks. They were a bit pricey for me, but they were tasty and great when paired with the toasted sourdough.

However, a downside to Petition is its above-average price. This restaurant is one of the most well-known places in the city, so it’s unsurprising for them to charge more for their dishes.

Another downside to this restaurant is its customer service. Some customers I’ve interviewed told me that the staff were rude towards them and that they were served their dishes slower than expected.

4. Chinta Cafe

Pros

  • Southeast Asian menu
  • Beautiful interior design
  • Huge selection of dishes
  • Morning tea experience

Cons

  • Reports of rude behaviour from staff
  • Messy reservation system

Try Chinta Cafe if you’re looking to enjoy a totally new brunch experience. This restaurant serves both Western and Southeast Asian dishes.

All of my visits here were great because I always had something new to try out among their huge selection of dishes. Some of their dishes you definitely should try out are their Nasi Goreng and Chinta Satay Chicken.

Chinta Cafe had put effort into its interior design to make customers more immersed in the Southeast Asian dining experience. The dining area is filled with amazing Buddha statues and tropical plants to capture that Southeast Asian vibe.

Another thing I really like about this cafe is its morning tea experience. This dining experience allows guests to pick their finest dishes and desserts, coupled with a relaxing cup of tea, for the price of $39.

I am happy to report that they offer gluten-free, vegetarian, and halal dietary options.

However, a downside to Chinta Cafe is its customer service. Some of the staff here were criticised for being rude and dismissive towards customers.

Another downside to this cafe is its messy reservation system. Some customers told me their reservations weren’t honoured and their tables were given to somebody else when they arrived.

5. Gordon St Garage

Pros

  • Cool aesthetic
  • Wide selection of brunch meals
  • Large and roomy dining area
  • Seasonal menu

Cons

  • Small food serving sizes
  • Above-average prices

Gordon St Garage is a former garage that was converted into a bar and a restaurant. Being a former garage, the dining area of this restaurant is large and roomy, so finding a table here won’t be an issue.

What’s really cool about this place is its aesthetic. This restaurant’s minimalist theme works well with the building’s former status as a garage.

Another thing I’d like to highlight about Gordon St Garage is its wide selection of brunch meals. They have many dishes to offer, like their avocado smash, which is an awesome meal to start my day.

Let’s also not forget that this restaurant has a seasonal menu. I always expect to see something new on their menu every time I visit this place.

However, one thing I dislike about Gordon St Garage is its small food serving sizes. Most of their dishes are smaller compared to the other brunch spots I’ve tried on this list.

It’s also disappointing that most of their dishes are a bit pricey. I suggest you look elsewhere if you’re looking to enjoy some brunch on a very tight budget.
