5 Best Clinics for Physiotherapists in Perth

5 Best Clinics for Physiotherapists in Perth

How We Picked the Top Physiotherapists in Perth

Expertise

First, we considered their credibility as physiotherapists including but not limited to years of experience, licenses, certifications, and awards. We check if they have gotten positive results in the past and evaluate from there.

Professionalism

We also judged the attitude and professionalism of the staff and practitioners in the clinics. This has a huge impact on how at ease the client will be, so we assessed this.

Accessibility

We included facilities that are easily reachable and accessible. We checked their operating hours and the responsiveness of their customer service.

Client Satisfaction

Of course, we also took into consideration what majority of the clients have to say with the service and whether they were satisfied, coupled with our own experiences.

Pros

  • They have online assessments
  • 32 years of experience
  • Easily accessible location
  • Easy booking process
  • Welcoming and friendly staff

Cons

  • Inconsistent operating hours
  • Not a lot of information on website
  • Closed on weekends
  • Treatments can be too short for some people

Central City Physiotherapy has been around since 1990, so they’ve been in the business for quite some time already. They also have a perfect Google Reviews score, which made us curious to check them out.

From what we’ve seen, their years of experience is apparent in their level of service and vast knowledge in different physiotherapy cases.

They’re experts with cases of acute or chronic pain, neurological abnormalities such as cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, and MS, orthopedic abnormalities, and sports injuries.

Their techniques are also impressive. We saw that they make use of Canalith repositioning therapy, dry needling, guided exercise, extremity mobilization, resistance training, soft tissue massage, spinal assessment and trigger point therapy.

They also even have specialized Pilates equipment for their treatments that address mobility issues.

They’re located conveniently in the heart of Perth CBD Central, so they’re easy to spot. It’s also easy to book an appointment with them online and via phone call, making them easily accessible.

They even have the convenient option to have your appointments online. However, we find their operating hours inconsistent, so make sure to double-check this when you book an appointment to avoid scheduling conflict.

The staff and physiotherapists are all very welcoming and professional. From what we’ve experienced, they really take time to listen to your needs and give helpful advice.

You can see that they really know what they’re doing. We don’t seem to be the only ones who think so.

We took a poll of their previous clients and most of them praised the professionalism and expertise of the clinic’s physiotherapists. Even the staff were commended for creating a calming atmosphere through their attitude.

Based on our experience, for the first appointment, the physiotherapists give a thorough assessment prior to treatment that’s tailor-fit to your particular diagnosis. From there, they prescribe self treatment and exercises and provide a management plan meant to address the root of your problem.

Along with your first physiotherapy session after assessment, the first appointment also includes a detailed health history and musculoskeletal or vestibular testing. We found them very thorough and effective.

The preceding appointments for regular visits usually last around 20 minutes. They’re really known for efficient treatments that address the problem in a short amount of time, perfect for busy people.

However, if you want a longer therapy session, you might want to look at the other options we have on our list.

  • Holistic and hands-on method of treatment
  • Easy booking process
  • Accepts all private health funds
  • Reasonable prices for their services
  • Has a shop of ergonomic and therapeutic products

Cons

  • Small team of practitioners
  • Possible waiting time for sessions
  • For cancellation or rescheduling of sessions, you’ll have to pay a booking fee if you fail to give notice 4 hours prior to appointment.
  • Closed on weekends

Established in 2005, Bodysmart has made a name for themselves as a holistic health clinic in Perth. They’re strategically located in the heart of the city on St Georges Terrace, making them easy to find.

When you enter their facility, you’ll be impressed at how sleek, clean, and peaceful the place and atmosphere is. They’re complete with a gym, two Pilates zones, and private rooms for physiotherapy sessions.

To add to that, they also have free WiFi throughout the facility. We also like that they’re wheelchair accessible.

Their team is pretty small with over 12 practitioners, but all of them are very qualified from what we’ve seen. Not only did they graduate from reputable universities, they also have over 100 years of combined experience put together.

More than their qualifications, what we love about their method is how hands-on and efficient the physiotherapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists are. They use different techniques to help address mobility problems and decrease pain.

After a detailed and thorough assessment of your mobility and pain levels, they offer customized and well-priced treatment and exercise plans to address specific concerns. We like how flexible the treatment is and how they listen to your needs.

Since they’re a small team, sessions are really done by appointment and there might be some waiting time if you’re aiming for a particular physiotherapist.

The staff and practitioners are very friendly and easy to work with. Most of their clients are return clients, showing us that they know how to take care of their customers.

They also have vast experience helping corporate clients, in fact they’re a “go-to” resource for over 600 national and local clients.

They offer a wide range of services to these clients that include the following:

  • Physiotherapy
  • Clinical reformer Pilates
  • Clinical functional movement
  • Chiropractic care
  • Remedial massage
  • Group exercise classes
  • Ergonomic assessments
  • Corporate health services

It’s also considerably easy to book any of these services online and via phone call. Based on our experience, they have a seamless online booking system that’s reliable.

You have to be sure about your chosen schedule, however, because you need to give notice at least 4 hours before your scheduled appointment through phone call, voicemail (if after hours), or email. Should you fail to do so, you have to pay a booking fee.

Speaking of payment, we also like that they accept all private health funds. So there’s a good chance your insurance covers the cost of your treatment here.

Aside from all these, you can also purchase ergonomic and therapeutic products from them that can supplement your treatment. It’s easy to buy these from their website.

Pros

  • They really get to focus on your case
  • All of their physiotherapists have postgraduate degrees
  • Easy booking process with no additional fees for rescheduling

Cons

  • Not a lot of physiotherapists to choose from
  • Might be hard to schedule an appointment due to small team
  • Range of services not as extensive as other clinics in this list

My Physio has a perfect Google Reviews score, so we went there to find out why. The moment you enter their clinic prior to your appointment, they’ll help you fill out forms and offer you a drink with a smile, which makes us feel welcome right away.

They’re a pretty small clinic with a team composed of only three physiotherapists. We took a peek at the qualifications and were impressed that all three of them all have postgraduate degrees under their belts.

Aside from their qualifications, they’re also very experienced. This shows in all of their previous customers’ feedback that all praise the physiotherapists’ professionalism and expertise.

They’re known to be very thorough with their assessments and hands-on with their treatment plans. Their attitude also fosters a warm and welcoming environment that people like to return to, and we can attest to that.

They’re very vocal about the fact that their treatment sessions are long. We can see that they really take the time to be familiar with your case so they can respond with the appropriate solutions.

Since they’re a small clinic, they’ll be able to focus on you and your case really well. Their range of services isn’t as extensive as the other clinics in our list, but it’s understandable because they’re not a large facility.

Take note also that it might be hard to get the schedule you want because slots fill up fast and there are only a few physiotherapists. So make sure to book an appointment early.

It’s a good thing their booking system makes it easy to do so because it’s very convenient and there are no additional fees when you reschedule your appointment.

Pros

  • Has a gym and spacious private rooms for consultations and therapy
  • Wide range of qualified practitioners with different specializations
  • Accessible location and easily reachable
  • Plenty of parking space

Cons

  • Younger clinic compared to competitors
  • Comprehensive booking process

Established in 2011, Life Ready may be one of the youngest in this list but they still deserve a mention because of their tremendous growth as a clinic and good track record. They now operate across 22 locations in Australia, with clinics in Perth up to Melbourne.

The branch we went to in particular is located in the South of Perth, on the corner of Canning Highway and South Terrace. They’re accessible, easily reachable, and have ample parking space, which is always a bonus.

As a clinic, they heavily specialize in physiotherapy, supervised exercise sessions where they incorporate PIlates exercises, and remedial massage services. We liked that they have a wide range of possible treatment plans and options.

We love that this branch has a gym to hold group exercise and physio sessions and a couple of big private rooms for individual treatment. Everything is sleek, clean, and spacious, making it a conducive space for therapy.

From our experience, they conduct the whole session from diagnosis to explaining the treatment plan with utmost care and professionalism. We don’t seem to be the only ones to have this experience as most of their client feedback reflects the same.

As for their staff, they have a wide range of qualified and experienced physiotherapists and practitioners to choose from. They all have different kinds of experience and specializations so you’ll have better chances of finding a practitioner who can best help you with your case.

They have experience with preventive care, injury management, gym rehabilitation programs, postural advice, workers’ compensation claims, and motor vehicle accident injuries.

Their booking process is a bit more comprehensive than the other clinics if you’re visiting them for the first time, which we found a bit inconvenient. However, this is understandable since they’re a big clinic and you would need to be registered in the system.

If you’re having problems with booking online, they’re also very responsive on their hotline based on our experience. So it might be best to ask for assistance there.

Pros

  • Contemporary and biopsychosocial approach to physical therapy
  • Performs Radial Shockwave Therapy
  • All of the physiotherapists have postgraduate degrees
  • Have a specialist physiotherapist
  • Reasonably priced

Cons

  • Inconvenient online booking process
  • Younger than other competitors

Modern Physiotherapy was established in 2015, making it the youngest clinic in this list. Still, we included them because of their unique philosophy in treatment and excellent track record.

True to its name, Modern Physiotherapy “provides contemporary and evidence-informed physiotherapy services” as they said on their website. Despite this, their sessions are actually priced reasonably and are transparently placed on their website.

One of the treatments that sets them apart is their Radial Shockwave Therapy that can help in the recovery of a wide range of musculo-tendinous injuries. This is why if you want to opt for treatment that’s current and non-traditional, this may be your best bet.

They have a small team of qualified physiotherapists, all of them with a postgraduate degree in Clinical Physiotherapy. We find it impressive that all of them are actively taking steps toward professional development at all times and are even involved in under-graduate tutoring.

Aside from their qualifications and culture of learning, we also loved how professional and kind they all are.  They really make it a point to foster a collaborative environment toward your goals and treatment.

We noticed that they really take on a biopsychosocial approach in handling musculoskeletal conditions where they practice manual therapy to help with the rehabilitation of the patient. They use a combination of different techniques to get the desired outcome.

They also have a specialist physiotherapist on their team that was awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists that can provide a second opinion to more complex cases.

Their clinic isn’t just great for new patients but even for those with ongoing conditions who are looking for alternative forms of treatment.

We also liked that  all of their physiotherapists are really experienced handling athletes and can help those who are in competitive sports make the most of their training and respond to injuries or pain.

However, we found their booking process quite inconvenient because the website for setting an appointment is not intuitive. It might be best to give them a call for an easier booking experience.
