The 5 Best Vegan Restaurants in Perth

The 5 Best Vegan Restaurants in Perth

How We Picked the Best Vegan Restaurants in Perth

Cost

More than the affordability, the value of the restaurant services must be worth it. The costs were also compared with other vegan restaurants in Perth.

Menu

We looked at the assortment of vegan food and beverages, as well as their catering and delivery options, if any.

Service

The services were reviewed based on the variety and sufficiency of the staff.

Communication

Their staff should be accessible in case of questions or clarifications. They should also be knowledgeable and helpful throughout the service.

Healthy Thai is one of the vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Perth that we recommend because there’s simply a lot to devour.

From the first look at their Thai menu, we already saw an extensive list of dishes. Some best-selling ones are pad thai noodles, sizzling sweet and sour pork, and Thai green curry.

In addition, we believe vegans won’t have to worry since they use ‘mock meat’ made from soy protein. Gluten-free options are also available for most dishes.

These are organised in various categories – popular, entree, noodles, house specials, curry dishes, stir-fried, fusion, and the like.

Apart from these, we appreciate that each item is marked if they’re vegan, vegetarian, spicy, or all of the above. In our opinion, this makes it easier for you to choose, even though the options can overwhelm first-time diners.

We also love their wide selection of drinks suitable for different tastes. They have Thai milk tea, kombucha, juices, soft drinks, beers, and more that we think to complement many dishes.

This restaurant’s services include pick-up and table booking. However, pick-up times may vary during their busy times.

And though they provide a kids’ menu, we noticed that some of these meals might get out of stock before the day is over.

Still, Healthy Thai is conveniently open 7 days a week, so there’s a lot of time to try them out.

Pros

  • Offers many Thai vegan dishes
  • Their menu is neatly categorised
  • Different beverages for various preferences
  • Available every day

Cons

  • Pickup times change now and then
  • Several meals may be out of stock

For a classy dining experience, Mother is among the best vegan restaurants in Perth worth considering.

They serve plant-based natural food that looks delicious as these are nutritious. We love that every dish they serve is free from refined, processed, or artificial ingredients – making them relatively healthier than regular food.

We think it’s awesome that this restaurant offers a 6-course journey too. This goes from nibble food (sourdough bread, cultured butter, hummus, etc.) to larger plates (risotto, cacao pasta, roasted cauliflowers, etc.).

The menu is also for sharing, so many can discover guilt-free food together. Plus, we believe shared plates are better since their pricing can be costly.

What’s more, almost all meals are made from scratch on-site, including plant-based dairy-free cheeses, butter, yoghurts, and sauces. For us, this ensures the food is in the best condition every day.

Not only that, but they also change their menu 4 times a year with the seasons.

We think this showcases their creativity and progressive take on their dishes. Even regulars would have something new to look forward to and won’t quickly get bored.

Their space has other uses, too – it’s an eco store, yoga studio, and health school. We recommend consulting with their practitioners upstairs if you need more guidance on healthy living.

Just note that their kitchen closes around 3 to 5:30 pm, so orders at this time may be a hit or a miss. Still, we appreciate that their drink and dessert bars would be open during this time.

Should you want to give them a go, Mother is available 5 days a week, except on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Pros

  • Flavourful, plant-based meals
  • 6-course shared food options
  • Progressive, seasonal menu changes
  • Can provide health consultations

Cons

  • Prices may be expensive
  • Kitchen is closed from 3 to 5:30 pm

If you’re vegan and love Indian takeouts, Twin Flame is one of the top vegan restaurants in Perth to try.

Some of their signature selections include chole bhature (spicy chickpea curry), curried samosas, and pani puri (crispy, fried hollow dough balls with potatoes). We like that a bunch of Indian sides and desserts are available too.

Other meals are conveniently sorted out into numerous categories. Because of this, we think first-timers would easily understand Indian food, knowing the many starters, curries, bread, and the like.

We also believe pick-ups wouldn’t be a hassle since there’s a spacious parking area outside the restaurant. But if pick-ups aren’t possible, we’re glad delivery is also an option.

Just be aware that their estimated prep time is 20 minutes, which is pretty average across many restaurants.

It’s also great that they serve a brunch menu during weekends. We find this ideal for those who woke up later than usual but don’t want to miss an exciting Indian vegan meal.

Several establishments also surround Twin Flame’s building. This seems practical for customers who wish to run other errands for their car or buy some beers while picking up their takeout.

Nevertheless, some of their servings may be small or inadequate. So, it’s best to review your orders if you have a big appetite.

Pros

  • Provides vegan Indian food
  • Has many food options per category
  • Offers brunch on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Spacious parking area

Cons

  • Small servings
  • Prep time is just average

4. Nuthin Fyshy

For seafood lovers, we recommend Nuthin Fyshy as your next vegan restaurant in Perth. The name is quite witty, as we know there’s nothing ‘fishy’ (or real fishes) on their menu.

We think it’s commendable that they offer alternatives for the environmentally conscious. This alleviates some of the strain on our oceans and fish population.

Some vegan specials include the ‘Fysherman’s Basket’ (battered fish, crab sticks, prawns, etc.), cheeseburgers, dinner boxes, and the like. We also like that they have different juices, smoothies, soft drinks, and beers to choose from.

It’s much appreciated that this restaurant is hands-on in creating its own menu too. They make their own mayonnaise, tartare, spicy mayo, garlic sauce, cheesy gravy, Napoli sauce, feta cheese, and salad dressings.

You likely won’t get the same taste anywhere else. This makes their food selection more personal or unique, in our opinion.

Conveniently, this restaurant is also on Uber Eats. We find it handy that people at home can still enjoy their food while advocating for something good – even in a small way.

Keep in mind that Nuthin Fyshy is best reached via phone orders since we saw that ordering isn’t available on their site.

Their prices are a tad expensive too, but vegan meals are usually pricier to begin with.

The car parking space may be easily filled during peak times if you plan to visit personally. Though, there are available spaces for motorbikes as well.

Pros

  • Doesn’t use real fish
  • Makes their own sauces and dressings
  • Available on Uber Eats
  • Has parking space for motorbikes

Cons

  • Prices can be costly
  • Cannot order via their website

5. Tsuke-Ba

For those who prefer to indulge in Japanese food, Tsuke-Ba is one of our top suggestions for vegan and gluten-free options.

Though they’re not entirely a vegan restaurant in Perth, we love that they still have a bunch of options (from over 120 items!) that could be worth exploring.

Their sushis, veggie sets, tofu teriyakis, curries, fried foods, and dumplings all have vegan options. For us, it’s delightful that diners would experience various fresh and flavourful combinations.

We think their cold meals like salmon avocado with brown rice and quinoa and salads are refreshing on hot days. To save more money, they have many platters for sharing as well.

If you like their menu, we’re glad they also provide catering services. Just remember to order early since they take last orders by 3 pm on the day before pick-up.

Nevertheless, they sometimes close the kitchen earlier during slower periods. This might push customers to have other items already made first.

You may order from Tsuke-Ba 6 days a week, but you must also expect to deal with big crowds during lunchtime.

Note that their location may be tricky to find since the entrance is tiny – you’ll have to look closely at the signage.

Pros

  • Has vegan and gluten-free options
  • Over 120 items on the menu
  • Offers catering for events
  • Available Mondays to Saturdays

Cons

  • The kitchen may close early
  • Huge crowds during peak times
