The Seasonal Brewing Co. is among our favourite 3-in-1 breweries in Perth – they’re a brewery, taphouse, and kitchen in one!

We think this allows them to offer a well-rounded experience to various beer enthusiasts.

Moreover, we like that they have 18 beer taps for crafting fresh beers with different tastes. Though that sounds like a lot, the beers are organised well into categories, so the customers wouldn’t be overwhelmed.

The categories are Collab Release, Limited Release, and Special Guest, and each one has at least 5 types of beer to choose from (Orpheus, IIPA, Funk, and the like).

Customers may place their kitchen orders at the bar. We believe this brewery has enough snacks and meals for everyone’s preferences, from pretzels and chips to Buffalo chicken wings and cheeseburgers.

Besides offering vegetarian and vegan options, we love that all gluten-free food is cooked in a separate fryer. Picky eaters wouldn’t have to worry too much.

It’s also amazing that they have a newly-renovated warehouse with seats that can entertain over 300 guests – that’s a lot of people!

The Seasonal Brewing Co. is open 7 days a week which we find convenient to accommodate most people’s schedules.

However, they usually accept walk-ins at the moment. If you prefer to book for future brewery experiences, they can only take larger groups of over 10 customers.

Pros

  • Simultaneously offers a brewery, taphouse, and kitchen
  • Provides 18 beer taps for variation
  • Caters to vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-sensitive
  • Available to serve every day

Cons

  • Typically only accepts walk-ins
  • Bookings are needed for over 10 people

Billabong Brewing is one of the top breweries in Perth with award-winning beers and still going strong after 20 years.

We’re in awe that they’ve won medals and trophies in several Western Australian beer shows. One of which is The Best Western Australian Beer at the Perth Royal Beers Show.

They offer a full range of commercial craft beers like ginger and vintage cider, so we believe they have something for everyone. In addition, we learned that they’re the pioneer of the ‘brewing on the premise’ system in Australia.

To accompany the beers, they also serve sumptuous porter and beef pie, beer-poached eggs, ‘beery’ apple fritters, and the like. We think many of these beer-infused dishes complement the beverages well.

We appreciate that they take health seriously too. Although they offer gluten-free beers, they don’t allow customers to brew this kind on their premises – cross-contamination is a big issue that everyone must be careful of.

Nevertheless, not all their beers are gluten-free. We suggest communicating your needs or preferences with their staff to avoid any hassle later.

This brewery has many liquor stores in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Queensland. We find this helpful if you want to enjoy their beers in different areas.

Billabong Brewing is open 5 days a week and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Their hours may be subject to demand, so we advise you to check or contact them first.

Pros

  • Won several awards and recognitions
  • Provides a good range of commercial craft beers
  • Serves gluten-free beer and food
  • Liquor stores are accessible in several areas

Cons

  • Some beers aren’t gluten-free
  • Available hours may depend on the demand

Heroes and Villains is among the most exciting breweries in Perth, with modern and unique offerings.

We commend that they break the rules of traditional brewing. For us, this shows they’re creative and resourceful enough to provide fresh, new flavours for the customers.

They have 12 taps to choose from. We appreciate that his brewery’s flavour profiles include Hazy Pale, Triple IPA, Ginger, and more choices depending on the level of beer adventure you desire.

Their options are beginner-friendly too. It’s beneficial that they’ve classified their beers from easy drinking to experimental if you’re unsure what you want.

But, we saw that they don’t offer a food menu to partner with these beverages. This is something to consider if you can’t drink alcohol well without a snack or meal.

Still, prospects may book a brewery tour with a minimum of 8 people. This is interesting because this offers enthusiasts so much more than just drinking beers.

The tour involves learning about beer work production, making your own beer, and just embracing the aroma of malts and hops overall. It’s a productive use of your day as a beer lover, in our opinion.

Unfortunately, Heroes and Villains are only open for casual drinks on Fridays and Saturdays. They operate by bookings on other days, so reaching them in advance is essential.

Conveniently, their beverages are available in many suburbs, so you can easily access their liquor selection.

Pros

  • Provides exciting beer flavour profiles
  • Categorises beers from easy-to-drink to experimental
  • Offers an all-inclusive brewery tour
  • Accessible products in many liquor stores

Cons

  • Available for casual drinks only twice a week
  • Bookings are required 5 days a week

Golden West Brewing Co. is one of the most welcoming breweries in Perth.

Right off the bat, we appreciate this brewery because they’re both family and pet-friendly to entertain more guests.

In fact, we like that their restaurant encourages share-plate casual dining. This includes housemade chilli, garlic, and cheese naan, Kerala-spiced chicken strips, aloo vada croquettes, and the like.

It’s also much appreciated that they consider a good range of dietary requirements, though it’s best to communicate these beforehand.

The dining experience also involves a choice of a sizeable sun-filled beer garden or a more traditional table. We believe this covers whether you want to have a nice date or hang out with friends.

They also craft beers for all tastes. This brewery has the classic Golden Ale, Kwencher Pale Ale, Fresh IPA, Roast Coffee Stout, and more.

Just note that bookings for groups of 3 to 15 are available. Those who come individually or with a partner can walk right in, but groups of more than 16 people have to contact them beforehand.

Golden West Brewing Co. is open from 11 am to late Wednesdays through Sundays. But they may be understaffed and busy on Saturdays, so we suggest visiting on a different day.

Their long hours are handy to cater to long lunches and those wanting to knock off early. We think the location is also strategic since they’re centrally located in Perth’s inner suburbs.

Pros

  • Caters to families and pet owners
  • Serves share-plate for casual dining
  • Considers dietary needs and preferences
  • Has a good selection of beers

Cons

  • Groups of over 16 guests have to book in advance
  • May be a tad understaffed

Otherside Brewhouse’s hint of ‘festival’ vibes makes them among the most enjoyable breweries in Perth.

Though they don’t have a lot of beers, we still think they cover a good range of basic flavours like the Classic Lager, Citrus Ale, and Apple Cider. These are natural and preservative-free as well.

Conveniently, their beers’ taste notes are posted on their website so prospects can easily decide if they want citrus, non-bitter, punchy, or other specific flavours.

Unlike other breweries in Perth, non-beer drinkers may get some wine here instead – red, white, bubbles, or rose.

It’s fantastic that they have their own food truck too! Some notable bar staples to keep you fed are burgers, tacos, chicken wings, chips, pork belly bites, and the like.

We applaud that aside from catering to vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-sensitives, they also have food specially made for kids 12 years old and under.

Moreover, you can become one of their beer tycoons (like a membership) for $250. This comes with exciting perks like discounts, special offers, preferential access to exclusive events, giveaways, and the like.

We believe this option can maximise your beer experiences, although this could be pricey for some.

Otherside Brewhouse is available 5 days a week (they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). They also deliver anywhere in Australia, so you may enjoy their beverages at home or at any event.

Pros

  • Has a fun, festival theme
  • Serves both beers and wines
  • Owns a food truck
  • Offers a perk-filled membership

Cons

  • Their membership fee may be costly
  • Unavailable on Mondays and Tuesdays

Phat Brew Club, born out of the camaraderie of mates with a shared love for homebrewing, has evolved into a venture that celebrates good beer and the joy of bringing people together.

Their recognition received through winning the Margaret River Brewhouse Backyard Brewing competition in 2020, particularly with their Coffee Cream Porter, adds a layer of credibility to Phat Brew Club. The fact that their homebrew stood out in a competition setting indicates a commitment to quality.

Furthermore, Phat Brew Club prides itself on brewing creatively without limits, evident in their first release, the Fruit Salad Sour named Phatizzle. This commitment to pushing the boundaries of flavor profiles contributes to a diverse and exciting range of beer offerings, appealing to enthusiasts seeking unique tasting experiences.

Note though that mention of showcasing Phat Bites at a specific event may imply that certain offerings or experiences are event-dependent. Clarity on whether their offerings are consistently available at their brewery or other locations would provide a more accurate representation for potential customers.

Nonetheless, Phat Brew Club emerges as a vibrant and community-focused brewery with a compelling backstory rooted in friendship and a passion for homebrewing. The award-winning legacy, commitment to creativity, and expansion into commercial brewing all contribute to the allure of Phat Brew Club.

Pros

  • Passionate Homebrewing Roots
  • Diverse and Creative Beer Offerings
  • Community-Centric Culture
  • Commercial Brewing Expansion

Cons

  • Event-Specific Focus
