Top 5 Motels in Perth
How We Picked the Top-Rated Motels in Perth
Amenities
More than just a place to sleep, it’s important to have other essentials like Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and parking in a motel. This criterion rates the variety of amenities the motel provides.
Cleanliness
This is based on the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the motel’s premises.
Hospitality
Motels aren’t high-end establishments, but hospitality from the staff is always a bonus. We assessed how friendly and professional their staff is.
Safety
Motels don’t have the best reputation for safety, so we only recommended ones we know you’ll feel secure in.
Cost
Considering all the amenities and services they offer, this is based on the value they provide for the rates they charge.

Pros
- Complete amenities
- Prime location
- Good value for money
- Spacious rooms
Cons
- Dated rooms
- No room service or regular housekeeping
- Complaints on cleanliness
Bailey’s Motel is a great option if you’re looking to be in a prime location in the East Perth area.
If you don’t have a car, the city CAT bus is just walking distance away from the motel. But if you do have a car with you, they have free onsite parking that’s available for their guests.
All their rooms come with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a refrigerator, an electric kettle, a toaster, and a bathroom with a toilet and shower.
We find their rooms to be spacious for a motel, even though the interior is a little bit dated. However, we can’t complain much given the price they charge for their rooms and their location.
While most guests said their rooms were clean, there were a few who complained of smelly carpets and air conditioning units not working.
You also can’t expect much from housekeeping or room service, as most of the guests we’ve spoken to reported that their rooms were not cleaned even when they requested it.
Should you choose to check in with them, we encourage you to check the room before fully settling in. If you find the room to be dirty, it’s best to request a room change rather than requesting housekeeping.
Lastly, Bailey’s Motel has a pizzeria and bar where you can dine and drink, making it easy for you to get food without having to go out.

Pros
- Multiple room options
- Has pool
- Has free airport shuttle
- Free breakfast
Cons
- Minor complaints on pests
- Minor complaints on hospitality
- Can be noisy
If you’re looking for a motel that doesn’t feel like a motel, The Great Eastern Modern Lodge is where you should go.
You have multiple room options to find which would suit you or your family. They have rooms that can house up to six people and ones that are wheelchair-accessible.
If you want a more premium experience, you can choose the deluxe spa suite that has a bathtub and a twin vanity bathroom.
Regardless of the room you choose, however, each room comes with a kitchenette containing a microwave, an electric kettle, and a toaster. Best of all, room service breakfast is available from 6:30 to 8:30 AM.
You’re also free to use their 15-meter pool in the courtyard garden, with a children’s wading pool nearby for your kids. On top of that, guests are free to use their airport shuttle during weekdays.
They’re not perfect, however. The complaints we heard were regarding the overall cleanliness.
While most guests reported that their rooms were clean, they did notice a few pests like cockroaches around the facilities.
Unfortunately, guests reported that the motel staff wasn’t keen on attending to their concerns and felt that the management didn’t care enough for their guests.
Lastly, we also heard some complaints about noise from the hallways or from cars passing by.

Pros
- Offers nightly and weekly rates
- Multiple room options
- Good service from staff
- Spacious room
Cons
- Can be noisy
- Tends to be busy
- Minor complaints of mold in bathroom
Wattle Grove Motel is the perfect place if you’re looking to stay somewhere that’s close to the airport. The downside to this, however, is that you’re most likely to hear sounds from the nearby airport.
Because of their proximity to the airport, they do tend to be busy, so it’s best to book ahead if you’re looking to check in with them.
They have four different room options to choose from—standard double room, standard queen and single room, standard queen and single with sofa bed, and adjoining rooms.
We like how they offer both nightly and weekly rates, which we think is a great way to save money for long-term staying guests.
Each of their rooms is spacious, and the design is kept simple without many frills. Guests have reported the main rooms to be clean, although a few reported some mold growing in some of their bathrooms.
They have a small pool for you to dip in—with a waterfall feature—and a playground for your kids that’s complete with slides, playhouses, and monkey bars.
Additionally, they also have a full-service bar and restaurant that serves family-friendly meals should you wish to enjoy the convenience of dining in.

Pros
- Multiple room options
- Updated interior
- Spacious rooms
- Good location
- Clean rooms
Cons
- A bit expensive for a motel
- Can be noisy
- Café currently closed
Bentley Motel is a bit more expensive than regular motels, but that price is because of the updated interior of their rooms and the standard of cleanliness in the place.
This is what guests appreciated most during their stay in the motel. They thought that the slightly more expensive price was worth it, especially considering the motel’s location too.
There are four different rooms to choose from: deluxe king room, deluxe triple room, deluxe twin room, and deluxe family suite. Each room is spacious, complete with a kitchenette and enough storage space for your belongings.
If there’s a minor complaint guests have, it’s that the TVs were a bit too small for their liking, especially relative to the room’s size.
They have a small pool you can enjoy—even at night. The pool is lit with dark blue lights at night, which makes it relaxing to swim in the dark.
If there’s one gripe we have with their facilities, it’s that their café is currently closed, so if you need food, you’ll have to get it from outside.
Due to their location, some guests have complained of noise mostly coming from the hallways and traffic outside. However, we didn’t hear complaints about guests being able to hear their neighbors, which is a good thing.

Pros
- Multiple room options
- Well-maintained
- Clean rooms
- Good service
Cons
- Not all rooms have a kitchenette
- Limited parking
- Some complaints on pool maintenance
Kings Park Motel doesn’t really aim to give you a motel-style treatment, instead opting to make you feel like you’re in a home away from home with some simple luxuries.
The motel’s exterior may look dated, but their rooms have updated interior design, and we’re happy to report that guests have consistently applauded the motel’s cleanliness.
Guests were appreciative of the overall atmosphere of the motel, which they found to be welcoming and friendly. The staff—and the owners, to be specific—were always ready to attend to their guests’ concerns.
They also have a pool for you to enjoy, with some chairs around the area for you to lounge on should you choose to have a relaxing day by the pool.
However, some guests have complained about the pool’s maintenance, with some complaining that it looked green. They chose not to swim in it for their own safety.
They have six different roop options: standard queen, twin, deluxe twin, kitchenette, family room, and deluxe family. While all rooms come with the basic amenities, only the kitchenette room has a private kitchenette and refrigerator.
Some guests also complained of limited parking, but from our research, we found that this was only during busy seasons and not for the most part of the year.
