Wrap your bump with stylish threads at the best maternity clothes shops in Perth!
One of the changes pregnancy brings is saying goodbye to your favourite outfits…for a while. As the bump grows, the clothes you once loved start feeling more like a corset than comfortable.
Thankfully, Perth had my back (and bump). See, the city has maternity shops with stylish and cosy options, often made sweeter by staff who actually know what expecting mums need.
We reviewed the best ones below to give you a general idea of which place suits your style best!

The Birth Store makes the tricky bits of pregnancy more manageable. They offer support clothing for periods such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, and post-partum, which, if ordered online by Perth residents, often arrive in 1–2 days.
Just keep in mind that their threads aren’t bargain rack finds. You’re looking at premier SRC Health products, sought after for their non-pharmacological management and prevention of pain associated with pregnancy.
Style-wise, they look fab, though you can only get them in two colours: black and white. The good thing is that there’s a fit for nearly every body shape.
That said, the main reason shoppers are drawn is the store’s lineup of TENS machines, designed for natural pain relief during labour (these midwives can help, too). Rental periods are even flexible to accommodate unpredictable labour durations.
Alongside it are other essentials for baby care, exercise, keepsakes, and recovery, giving The Birth Store that “one-stop-shop” tag.
So Good
I loved my TENS for my labour! The pain relief was one thing but I loved the contraction timer feature as well! I also really liked the extended period of time you are able to hire the machine for as everyone knows how unpredictable it can when you go into labour! The batteries also lasted a long time, I had a really long labour and had the TENS machine on for 26 hours and still didn’t need to change the batteries, but even if I did need to the hire comes with a spare set! So good!

Very Helpful
I hired a basic TENS machine for 4 weeks for labour with my second baby. It was easy to order/book, came with everything I needed and was very helpful for managing pain up to transitional labour. One set of batteries and electrode pads lasted me the whole 3 nights I laboured. It was easier to sleep with it on than I thought, and carrying it around was less annoying than I thought. Returning it was simple too.

If you only shop at established names, Room For Two is browse-worthy. Its origins date back to the 1970s, you know.
We were also impressed by their stylish, mostly eco-friendly range of maternity dresses, personally curated by the owner, Lene. The selection comes from quality brands such as Amber, Alessandra, and Serena, so expect stylish prints and vibrant shades.
In terms of prices, they’re on the steeper end. I got a Peak leopard-print maxi dress for $49, and that deal was discounted; expect higher fees for those that aren’t.
Variety and style are two things you’ll unlikely moan about, though. Tops, workwear, support garments, lingerie, and even necklaces are in the books, often available in 3 colours.
In addition, they offer birth/recovery, nursing, and baby products. The latter comes from known brands such as Aster & Oak.
A possible drawback, though, is not getting your online orders in time. That has happened before.
Great Service
Just went and had a bra fitting at Room for Two. Honestly can’t recommend it enough – great service, super knowledgeable and left actually feeling comfortable and confident!
They had a great range of clothes and items for mum and baby. I’ll be back!

Practicality and style are two things the 1996-established Ripe Maternity is best known for. Their clothes generally adapt to changing bodies without forgetting about comfort.
Variety is also among their best qualities. Last time we checked, they were offering size-inclusive dresses, activewear, tops, bottoms, knitwear, occasion, and sleepwear in 3–7 colours.
The prices, though, require a bit of smart budgeting. Even discounted dresses hit the $50–$70 range.
We’ve also chatted with expecting mums who weren’t too fond of the threads’ quality, with most saying they go down after a wash or two.
One redeeming perk is that orders hitting the $100 mark don’t incur shipping fees. There’s also a “buy now, pay later” option, which offers payment flexibility.
On top of that, Ripe Maternity’s physical store is open daily, unlike those of our other entries here.
We Will Definitely Be Back
I’m not one to wright reviews but we received top tier customer service from Lisa at the Gatden Ciry branch, that I had to leave a comment. Lisa gave us time at the beginning to get a feel for what we might like. She then gave us her own suggestions. Sometimes when you go shopping attendants can be pushy and in a rush. Lisa took her time and gave her honest opinions. At the end we walked out with a new wardrobe and were confident in our selections. She was super helpful, patient, and personable. We will definitely be back. Thank you Lisa!

Made the Whole Experience So Smooth
I had a wonderful experience shopping at Ripe Maternity Booragoon. I wouldn’t have had a clue about where to start when buying maternity clothes for myself. The shop assistant Lisa was so kind and helpful. The top quality customer service that she provided is so rare these days. She made the whole experience so smooth and pleasurable. I bought several items of clothing and have been wearing them all regularly.
Thanks again Lisa for being so lovely, you are brilliant at your job!

MummActiv’s goal when it opened in 2016 remains unchanged in 2025: to give expecting mums the support and confidence they need. That commitment shows in the label’s fashionable designs and accessories.
Oh, and we used “label” because MummActiv is one, meaning they’re not a retailer of mixed brands. That dents their “Brand Range” score a bit.
On the bright side, we’re yet to come across a customer who’s miffed with the brand’s quality, particularly concerning its activewear and swimwear. Most praise the fit, support, aesthetics, and durability.
The price tags, though, run higher than the average, considering you’re not paying for a set. We suggest checking what’s on sale first, since MummActiv isn’t stingy on discounts.
Going for the express delivery option isn’t shabby either. It’s just an additional $10, and orders are typically processed in 1–2 days, with tracking provided once dispatched.
High Level of Customer Service
I ordered multiple items including tights, breastfeeding crops, the breast pump crop, breastfeeding singlets/tee and swim wear. The quality of the clothing range is excellent and long lasting. I had one particular swim wear item that was faulty however the team went above and beyond to replace it for me. Not all online shops have a high level of customer service, I happily recommend MummActiv for their products and the 5 ⭐️ customer service.

10 Out of 10
I had purchased a lot of different branded nursing bras and nursing singlet and could not find anything I truly felt supported in. Than I came across Mummactiv. The communication and assistance was incredible and the nursing crops I couldn’t recommend enough. Not only do I feel supported wearing them but I feel beautiful. From the fabric, the designs and the comfort… they get a 10 out 10 from me.

A glance at Dressed For Two’s catalogue was enough to show us just how chic their pregnancy and post-partum dresses are, particularly those from premium brands such as Sir the Label and Victoria & Woods.
What makes them truly different, though, is that they’re all about rentals, making them a go-to for baby showers, baptisms, weddings, and other milestone events.
From my experience, the rental process is smooth. I just had to browse online, select a style and size, and lock in a delivery date, with “free pick-up” as the other option. Hires also last for 4–5 days with no dry-cleaning required, so there’s no “rushed” feeling.
Communication is smooth, too. The founder, Rhianan, is generally approachable and responsive, even if you’re calling for last-minute requests.
That said, the $85 to $120 range isn’t pocket change, especially for rentals. In-demand dresses usually get snapped up quickly as well.
Easy to Deal With
Highly recommend Dressed for Two! The selection of dresses available are amazing and so well thought through. So hard to find flattering dresses when pregnant but dressed for two does an incredible job at picking the right dresses! I felt amazing in my hire and Rhianan was so lovely and easy to deal with 🙂
