Pros
- Women-owned
- Offers in-store shopping
- LGBTQ+ friendly
- Clients can opt from their multiple payment options
Cons
- By appointment only
- Deposits are nonrefundable
In the business for over two decades now, Artful Ink has proven its capacity to adapt with the ever-changing tattoo industry. In fact, they’ve already established four boutique shops situated locally and internationally.
Originally founded by two tattoo art masters, the overall management of these four boutiques now falls on their female protégé. And we love how progressive and innovative this makes them!
We also love how serious they are in dealing with the health and safety of their clients, artists, and their overall environment. They make sure to use their needles only once and keep the procedure as sterile as possible.
The staff is also friendly. They will walk you through the entire process, from conceptualizing your design to inking it on your skin.
As artists, they aren’t shy to turn you down if they think your tattoo design doesn’t go with their style. This can hurt some clients, especially those already set on their designs.
They only also accept clients by appointment.
This policy is intended to give their artists more time to prepare and ink their clients per session. If you want to have your tattoo done quickly, this shop is unfortunately not for you.
Uniquely, this shop charges their rates depending on the seniority of their artists. You’ll pay less per hour if you go for a junior artist than for a senior one.
Nevertheless, if you’re willing to spend extra, the quality of art and service you get from their senior artists is unrivaled.

Pros
- Offers free consultation
- Open on weekends
- Walk-ins are welcome
Cons
- Expensive rates
If this is your first time getting your tattoo, Bloodlines’ client service guarantees an easy experience for you. For starters, they’re open daily and offer free consultations.
They’re also active on social media, so interested clients can have a quick overview of their artists’ works.
We also love their unique lineup of tattoo artists.
They have resident artists with distinct art styles.
If you prefer something else, they also invite guest artists who tattoo at their shop on specific dates. Clients can check out these dates on their social media accounts and website.
This exciting selection does come with a price. They tend to charge higher compared to their competitors.
Their location, although accessible, lacks parking space as well, so you’d have to come earlier if you’re bringing a car.
We also love the merchandise they sell, which includes their own line of aftercare ointments. We think this makes them a one-stop shop where clients conveniently get the services and products they need in one place.
The staff is also friendly and approachable.
They go the extra mile to make sure that clients are comfortable throughout the process, whether it be during consultation or inking sessions.
They listen to ideas but also suggest their own to achieve the best design that will make their clients happy.
Post-session, we appreciate that they instruct their clients clearly and comprehensively on how to take care of their tattoos.

Pros
- Offers flexible payment options
- Open on weekends
Cons
- Expensive rates
- By appointment only
- Deposits are required and are nonrefundable
The Tatt Shop is Western Australia’s oldest and most established tattoo shop, and they’ve been inking exciting tattoo customs for more than three decades!
They stick to their classic designs, but this doesn’t mean they don’t explore new art styles.
In fact, they offer to hand draw sketches for your tattoo should you have a specific design in mind.
You will, however, need to book a free consultation with them one or two weeks prior to your preferred date for the inking session.
Tatt Shop houses various artists known for their professionalism and top-quality artistry.
This does make their services a little more expensive compared to their rivals. They charge $200 an hour and require a minimum of $150.
Although they are open daily, they only go by appointment. Clients are required to book ahead of time, and deposits are nonrefundable.
The good news, however, is they offer multiple payment options including near-field communication (NFC) mobile payments, which allow contactless payment through phones in close proximity to each other.
Visiting their shop will make you feel relaxed as well. The white, black, and red aesthetic simply says bold and artsy but also cozy.
We definitely recommend this place for those who are into classic designs and are willing to splurge a little.

Pros
- Follows strict tattoo hygiene practices
- Affordable rates
- Open on weekends
Cons
- Appointment only
- Deposits are nonrefundable
Top quality service at an affordable price? Ink Testament Tattoo Studio is a good choice for you.
Established in 2018, this shop is a newbie in the industry. Despite this, they’ve been making noise with their A1 artistry.
They accommodate different types of tattoos and offer to come up with a design or customize one for you.
We love that they put a premium on health and safety. In fact, they emphasize using only top-quality inks and authentic tattoo equipment.
They also make sure their tattoo hygiene practices meet the standards of the Australian Health Department.
They also offer piercing services if you want to get one with your tattoo. They use sterile and single-use equipment that guarantees a clean and safe procedure.
These services are all offered at an affordable rate.
Their deposits are pegged at $50 but are, as always, nonrefundable.
They offer multiple payment options including payment by installment.
They’ve partnered with InkPay, which allows clients to make their payments within six weeks.
They’re also open on weekends but only for those with appointments.
Finally, we love that their tattoo shop is just right down the street. It’s cozy and relaxing as well.
They have a parking space within the complex that clients can avail of, although it’s shared and therefore only limited. Come earlier to secure a good parking spot!

Pros
- Houses over 10 tattoo artists
- Great selection of tattoo designs
- They hold “Ink Flash Weekends”
Cons
- By appointment only
WA Ink Tattoo has been Perth’s go-to tattoo shop with their experience spanning over three decades.
They house over 10 tattoo artists, each with their own unique art style.
This, for us, also makes them a good place to discover and appreciate Perth’s most talented local artists.
The great selection also works well for clients who want to explore interesting designs and art styles.
We recommend them to clients who are, themselves, tattoo enthusiasts. We think you will enjoy the display of art and talent in their work.
We’re also curious about their Ink Flash Weekend event. It’s a special event where tattoo artists offer their drawn-up designs to clients on a scheduled weekend.
Clients are welcome to choose from these designs, but it’s strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is also popular, so expect a long queue if you’re thinking of joining in.
In any case, you can visit their website to check any updates on their next Ink Flash Weekend event!
We love that they also offer products to their clients. They sell a few merch and vouchers which you can treat yourself with.
Their vouchers make great gift ideas for your tattoo-loving friends and loved ones.
They are, however, pretty strict with their COVID-19 regulations. Plus-ones aren’t allowed, and only a maximum of three people are allowed in the waiting area.
If you usually need company when getting inked, you might want to look for other options.
