Top 5 Korean Restaurants in Perth
How We Picked the Top-Rated Korean Restaurants in Perth
Menu
This criterion rates the restaurants’ menu variety and food quality. You may be coming in for Korean food, but it’s still good to have a variety of high-quality food and drinks.
Ambience
This measures the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, which includes the design, comfort, and feel of the place.
Customer Service
The friendliness of the servers and the restaurant staff can enhance your dinner experience, which is why we’ve added this as a criterion.
Cost
Everyone has a different idea of what’s affordable, but this is based on the value for money they provide through their menu items.

Pros
- Good variety in menu
- Affordable
- Casual atmosphere
- Friendly staff
Cons
- Mixed feedback on some food items
- Can be noisy
- No website
Took Baek Kee is a great pick if you’re looking for a casual Korean restaurant to dine with your family or mates. Depending on the size of your group, you can enjoy a meal with side dishes for $40 to $60.
The dishes that came most recommended by customers were their bibimbap, seafood pancake, and kimchi pancake.
They’ve got a great location in the Perth CBD, and should you pass by their restaurant, we like how their menu is on display right by their window for you to check out.
On the subject of their cons: most of the complaints we heard about were regarding the spice level of dishes. Thus, we encourage you to let the staff know if you need the spice level to be adjusted.
However, we’ve also heard complaints about certain items on the menu being too oily, lacking flavour, or not having the right texture. The latter complaint was mostly made towards their jjajangmyeon, so you may want to avoid ordering that.
It’s a pretty casual restaurant, which invites lively groups that can make the restaurant noisy during busy hours. If you’re looking for a quieter dining experience, we suggest dining after the lunch rush and right before dinner.
But if you enjoy a lively dining experience, then we’re sure you’ll enjoy dining here. And even if you dine during busy hours, food will be served quickly, as we’ve heard no complaints about slow service.

Pros
- Generous serving sizes
- Good quality of food
- Discounts for cash payments
- Good prices
Cons
- Complaints on inattentive staff
- Tends to be busy
- Some complaints on quality of food
Palsaik is a favourite among small groups, especially for those looking for generous serving sizes at good prices.
They’re most popular for their Korean barbecue, and the pork belly came highly recommended among the customers we’ve spoken to.
We like how you can choose combinations on their menu, and you can choose accordingly depending on your group size. Each combination already has meat, sauces, and side dishes, which we think are great value for your money.
They also offer discounts if you pay by cash instead of card, which is a great reward that will help you save money while you dine there.
Because they are quite a popular restaurant, they do tend to be busy. This is why we recommend you book a reservation beforehand.
Some walk-in customers have waited an hour to be seated.
The busyness has also led to customers complaining about inattentive staff and slow service. There were also some complaints about the quality of food, with some items arriving cold.
The good food may keep you coming back for more, but if great customer service is your priority, you may want to choose other restaurants on this list.

Pros
- Good value for money
- Generous servings
- Spacious restaurant
Cons
- Tends to be busy
- Inconsistent quality of food
- Complaints on slow service
Arirang is one of the oldest Korean restaurants in Perth, having been open for more than 20 years now. Since then, they’ve opened two more locations in Karrinyup and Cannington, but the Perth CBD location remains to be the most popular.
We also recommend this specific location for its space. Bumping into other diners won’t be a problem.
The acoustics of the place is pretty great as well, as we didn’t hear complaints about the noise even during busy periods.
They also offer good value for your money, with most diners recommending the premium set at $94.95. For this price, you get a street food platter, seafood hotpot, Wagyu beef, seafood combination, and a complete set of side dishes.
While they list this set as being enough for two people, we think it’s good enough for three to four people, depending on the size of your appetite.
However, feedback on the quality of their food has been mixed. Upon further research, we found out that the quality of the food tends to be poorer during busier hours.
Customer service tends to be subpar in these times as well, with diners reporting that their food came out slow and some waiting for up to half an hour.
Dinnertime tends to be a busier time for them, so if you’re looking forward to better qualities of food and customer service, we recommend visiting during lunch instead.
4. WooJeong

Address: 542 Hay St, Perth WA 6000

Pros
- Good customer service
- Generous servings
- Good value for money
- Also serves Japanese food
Cons
- Small space
- Tends to be crowded/full
- Complaints on quality of delivery
WooJeong is an unassuming Korean-Japanese restaurant located in the heart of the Perth CBD. And despite also serving Japanese food, they’re better known for their Korean dishes.
Run by a Korean family, their Korean dishes are as authentic as can be. They’ve got a wide variety of dishes on their menu, and we appreciate how they mark the spicy dishes on their menu.
The restaurant itself is simple with not much for interior design, but it’s clean, and despite being small, there’s adequate space between tables.
Diners have said that they do tend to be crowded or full, so unless you’re willing to wait to be seated for dinner, we recommend coming in after the lunch rush and before they close at 3:00 PM.
They’re popular among small groups for their generous servings, and we’re sure you’ll leave their restaurant satiated.
We recommend against having their food delivered to your home, as multiple customers have reported that their orders were cancelled or arrived late. This is, of course, due to how busy they normally are.
As for their Japanese food, diners have said they were unremarkable—but not bad—which leads us to the recommendation that should you dine here, it’s best to stick with the Korean dishes.

Pros
- Spacious restaurant
- Generous servings
- Good prices
- Unique dining experience
Cons
- Small tables
- Inconsistent quality of food
- Charges for side dishes
If you’re looking for a new way to enjoy Korean food, you might want to try dining in Tong 86. It’s unlike any Korean restaurant we’ve seen with its warehouse-like interior and graffiti on the walls.
Customers enjoy the generous serving sizes, but a common complaint that came along with this was that they found the tables to be too small to place all of their dishes.
You can, of course, join several tables together if you’re coming in with a bigger group, and with their large space, we’re sure it won’t be a problem.
While their quality of food is mostly good, we did hear some complaints from customers about some menu items. Diners complained about the quality of their seafood pancake and Korean fried chicken.
We do think that their specialty is Korean barbecue, and we can’t recommend other menu items. However, no Korean barbecue is complete without side dishes and unfortunately, their side dishes come with an extra charge.
This is unlike most Korean restaurants that offer side dishes as a combination with meat, so if you’re someone who enjoys side dishes, be prepared to shell out an extra amount.
However, if it’s the variety of meat you’re looking for, then we’re confident Tong 86 will be a good choice for you.
