The 5 Best French Restaurants in Perth
How We Picked the Best French Restaurants in Perth
Cost
Besides affordability, the value of the restaurant services must be worth their price. The costs were also compared with other French restaurants in Perth.
Menu
We looked at the assortment of food and beverages, along with the presentation and theatrics if any.
Service
The restaurant services were reviewed based on their variety and the sufficiency of the staff’s efforts.
Communication
Their staff and servers should be available in case of questions or concerns. They should also provide a high level of care throughout the service.

Chez Pierre is among the top french restaurants in Perth that gives an authentic French cuisine experience.
We like that traditional fine dining is their expertise for both lunch and dinner. This makes them ideal for most types of functions.
Entrées, main courses, and side dishes are typically served. We believe some notable ones are their rich French onion soup, steak tartare, and salade jardinière (green salad).
Their desserts are also made in-house by their pastry team. For us, this ensures the freshness and quality of their treats.
It’s also much appreciated that they have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options to be inclusive of diners’ preferences and needs.
They also have a huge range of local and imported wine. This would suit even the most particular palate since many combinations can be made, in our opinion.
In addition, they have intimate and relaxing interiors that vastly improve the ambience and result in a luxurious feel.
But as they pride themselves on their quality food and service, their pricing may be slightly more expensive than several French restaurants in Perth.
If you wish to place a reservation on Friday or Saturday evenings after office hours (3 pm), we advise calling Chez Pierre as they don’t always answer emaisl immediately.
Pros
- Authentic French cuisine experience
- Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options
- Desserts are made in-house
- Big range of local and imported wine
- Intimate interiors and relaxing ambience
Cons
- Pricing may be slightly higher than others
- Unable to answer emails immediately

Angel’s House is one of our picks because of its excellent selection of food and wine as a French restaurant in Perth. We believe their location in the centre of Freo also adds to their unique, historical ambience.
Amazingly, they source locally grown produce to complement their seasonally inspired menu. We think this makes their food fresh and delicious while advocating their support for local farmers.
Some of the crowd’s favourites are their double-baked cheese souffle, black Angus rib-eye, and bistro salad. We also like that their cheese board dessert allows customers to select 3 kinds of cheese.
It seems that they can cater to many locals because they also serve Australian wines apart from their French selection.
Their food is also reasonably priced. The costs are average compared to other Perth French restaurants.
Depending on the customer’s preferences, we like that tables can be booked in their dining room, garden, or verandah.
Just note that booking for over 8 people may be more challenging. Prospects should call if they’re going with a big group so they can be accommodated.
Angel’s House is available 5 days a week, except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Conveniently, they’re also a 2-minute walk away from the Fremantle Markets.
Pros
- 2 minutes away from the Fremantle Markets
- Sources locally grown produce
- Serves both Australian and French wines
- Reasonably priced menu
- Tables can be booked in different areas
Cons
- Booking over 8 people may require prospects to call
- Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Le Rebelle is not your typical french restaurant in Perth – they present a ‘Paris meets New York’ theme that we believe enhances their intimate dining.
As a 3-tiered restaurant, we love that they’re a bistro, wine bar, and dining area all in one. This shows that many customers can go here for different affairs, from coming just for a drink to staying for a 2-hour dinner.
Their grain-fed fillet steak is popular among their main courses. It’s also delightful to know that they serve local and international cheeses with gluten-free crackers available on request.
We appreciate that, unlike the usual French serving, their helpings are big and generous. We think no one would leave hungry from Le Rebelle!
It’s incredible that they have a good range of wines too. They offer local and international beers, ciders, and a small selection of classic cocktails.
In addition, their location looks strategic and easily accessible for many. The restaurant is the ideal place to unwind before or after a show at The Astor theatre.
Several clients we spoke to also come here on their way home from work.
But, note that Le Rebelle’s bookings require a $20pp pre-authorisation to guarantee the table. They also have a limited capacity, so their staff highly recommends bookings.
Pros
- Has a ‘Paris meets New York’ theme
- Serves generous helpings
- Offers a good range of alcoholic beverages
- Strategic and easily accessible location
Cons
- Bookings require a $20pp pre-authorisation
- Has a limited capacity

As French Accent takes pride in its theatrical food presentations, they’re on our list as among the most creative French restaurants in Perth.
What we like most about them is that they provide an interactive experience. Their team wants visitors to experience their dinner through all 5 senses!
For example, customers can play with a smoke bubble and then smash it on their plates for a smokey flavour. This makes the meal more fun and memorable, in our opinion.
The restaurant has 3 courses starting with French bread and butter, an egg a la coque, coke pork belly, and semoulina citrus cake as options.
They’re also known for their iconic croissant burger. We’re in awe that this is incredibly in demand and that reservations are required 2 days in advance.
Additionally, we find it convenient that they accept multiple payment options. This includes Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard, PayPal, Visa, and more.
Just remember that they usually serve a 3-course meal. If you want à la carte, you may request it by phone though this isn’t available on Saturdays.
Nevertheless, there isn’t a lot of car parking in front of French Accent. Instead, you might want to take your bike sometime since there are several parking spaces for those.
Pros
- Provides theatrical food presentations
- Interactive dining experience
- Known for their croissant burger
- Accepts multiple payment options
- Has parking space for bikes
Cons
- À la carte isn’t available on Saturdays
- Not a lot of car parking

Fleur is one of the French restaurants in Perth that provides both a classic and contemporary feel of the French scene.
We love that they boast beautiful floral decor with moody dark tones. We think this adds to their intimate and chic ambience.
It’s also fantastic that they’re very particular with their plating. Also, it would please some people that they harbour a particular soft spot for fine seafood.
In addition, it’s considerate of them that they can cater to most dietary requirements if they’re given notice in advance.
For us, their portions aren’t too overwhelming, so customers can enjoy the taste and variety without being too full. They also have wine and cocktails that match almost every food on the menu.
If you’re having a long lunch or candlelit dinner, we believe their private dining room is ideal to savour the experience better.
However, some customers we spoke to thought that their menu was hit-and-miss. Some liked the duck liver parfait with added truffles, while some didn’t like their side dishes that much.
Their pricing may be slightly higher than other French restos in Perth as well. Patience is needed as some meals may take time before they were served too.
Should you be interested, Bookings at Fleur are highly recommended to secure your spot, although walk-ins are always welcome.
Pros
- Boasts beautiful floral decor
- Harbours a soft spot for fine seafood
- Portions aren’t too overwhelming
- Walk-ins are welcome
Cons
- Pricing may be slightly higher than others
- Bookings are recommended to secure your spot
