If you’re going to Vincent, Perth, we recommend adding Lake Monger to your list of itineraries.

For us, this beautiful lake is a great place to step away from the busy city. We think you’ll find what you’re looking for, whether it’s relaxation or an exciting adventure.

Around the area is a 3.8-kilometer path that makes for a beautiful walk or run. You may also rent a bike and ride around to see the area.

And if you like to watch birds, Lake Monger has a lot of different kinds! This may include black swans, pelicans, and ducks.

Travel tip: When you get hungry, the nearby suburb of Leederville has a number of cafes and restaurants too! Try a gourmet burger or a delicious cup of coffee

Otherwise, you may bring your own food and have a picnic, enjoying the fantastic scenery with your loved ones.

Just note that if you want to avoid crowds, you should go early in the morning or during the week when it’s less busy. Lake Monger is only 4 km from the city centre of Perth, so we believe it’s easy to get here by public transportation.

You may take a train to Leederville Station and then walk or take a bus to the lake. Alternatively, car owners may drive to one of the nearby car parks or take a bus from the city centre.

OPENING HOURSMonday – Friday: 5:30 AM – 9:00 PMSaturday – Sunday: 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Do you want to get in shape or just have fun swimming under the sun? If so, the popular Beatty Park Leisure Centre may be perfect for you!

We think you won’t get bored here – the centre has a 50-metre outdoor pool, a heated indoor pool, a gym, a sauna, and a steam room, among other amenities!

There’s also a cafe and a lot of outdoor space for picnics and barbecues.

We advise you to bring the right clothes to swim in and a towel to dry off with if you plan to use the pools. If you want to use the gym or sauna, it’s best to bring comfortable shoes and extra clothes too.

As for the rates, the price to get into the recreation centre varies depending on your chosen activities.

Friendly tip: Do you want to pay less? Concession card holders can get discounts, and guests may also sign up for an annual membership to save more in the long run.

The Perth CBD is only a few minutes away from the leisure centre by car. It seems easy to get there via public transportation, and the closest bus stop is only a short walk away.

Are you interested in watching a game in a spacious venue? The Leederville Oval is a sports field with floodlights, 3 grandstands, and a large grassy hill that can fit up to 10,000 spectators.

There are both reserved and open seats at the oval. If you want to ensure you have a seat, we believe you should book one ahead of time.

After a long day, there are a number of places to eat and drink inside, such as a canteen and a bar

But if you want to eat something more substantial, you may also find a lot of cafes and restaurants in the Leederville area.

When you leave, those with cars must keep in mind that there are only a few places to park on the streets near Leederville Oval.

Travel tip: If you’re looking for alternative parking spaces, we suggest going to the Oxford Street Car Park or the Loftus Centre Car Park.

The oval is a short walk from Leederville Train Station, so it’s easy to get there by bus or train as well. The trains from both Joondalup and Fremantle stop at Leederville Station, and you can walk to the oval in just 10 minutes.

But if you want to get some exercise, Leederville Oval is easy to get to by bike too! Plus, there are many bike racks close by.

We think kids (or parents who are also kids at heart) may enjoy a trip to Braithwaite Park!

Braithwaite Park is a fully fenced outdoor space at the corner of Scarborough Beach Road and The Boulevard in Mt. Hawthorn. For your reference, it’s next to the Mount Hawthorn Lesser Hall and the Mt. Hawthorn Community Centre.

We like that there are two playgrounds for kids of various ages in Braithwaite Park.

There are logs, water features, bamboo pods, stepping stones, ropes, obstacles, and two flying foxes in the nature play area. Moreover, there’s a traditional playground with lower monkey bars, slides, and more for younger kids and toddlers.

As for its other amenities, the park also has barbecues, drinking fountains, picnic tables, and public bathrooms. For us, this makes it a place for a family picnic or birthday party.

Friendly tip: You’ll be walking a lot, so it’s important to wear comfortable shoes. Some blisters may easily worsen, and many people are busy enough to need a podiatrist in the future.

If you want to take extra care, you may bring insect repellent or bug spray as well. In the park, mosquitoes and other pests can be a problem, especially in the summer.

During the summer, Braithwaite Park can also get very hot, so be sure to stay hydrated. There are drinking fountains all over the park, but it’s a good idea to bring your own water if you’re sensitive about where you’re drinking.

Also, remember that the park has birds, reptiles, and small mammals. Although you might want to get close to take a picture, it’s important to give them their space and not bother them.

Do you want to watch a movie with loved ones or by yourself? Then, we think the Luna Outdoor Cinema in Vincent is a must-try!

This cinema is part of Perth’s best independent movie theatre chain. Today, Luna Leederville has the best mix of arthouse, modern, and classic films, as well as Talking Picture events and HD-captured stage performances.

In the summer, Luna Leederville also moves outside with the licenced Luna Lounge and Luna Outdoor Courtyard Cinema. We think this could be a romantic idea for your next date!

Friendly tip: The outdoor cinema is an open-air theatre with grassy grounds, so we feel it’s good to bring a blanket or cushion to sit on. This will make it more comfortable for you to watch.

You can also bring your own food and drinks to Luna Outdoor Cinema. In our opinion, this is a great way to save money and eat all your favourite snacks without limit (just for the day!).

But if you forget to bring food, don’t worry because there are several places to buy food and drinks on site.

OPENING HOURSThursday: 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Are you having a bad week, or just want to have a good laugh? If so, Lazy Susan’s Comedy Den is the place to go in Perth with its mix of local and international comedians.

This comedy club is right in the middle of the city, and we believe it offers a unique and intimate experience that will make your night stand out.

Every Friday, they have a professional headliner comedian and sometimes others who are getting ready for the comedy festival.

Just keep in mind that the seats are given out first-come, first-served, so we advise getting there early to get the best ones.

The bar also has a great selection of drinks, including local craft beers and ciders, so we suggest grabbing your favourite drink and settling in nice and cosy for the show.

Friendly tip: If you love comedy and want to try making other people laugh, don’t be scared to give it a go here! You never know if this could be your secret calling.

New or amateur acts are free to contact them for Lazy Susan’s Tuesday open mic night, named Shapiro Tuesdays.

OPENING HOURSMonday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

For those who want something different, going to a church in Perth could be another one-of-a-kind thing to put on their list.

Every Sunday at 9:30 am, St John’s Lutheran Church has its regular services. There are also other services during the week, such as Bible studies, prayer groups, and activities for the youth group.

Just a reminder: St. John’s Lutheran Church is first and foremost a place of worship, so it’s best to dress appropriately. You may be reminded not to wear shorts, tops without sleeves, or miniskirts.

The Church is located at 16 Aberdeen Street, Perth, Australia, 6000. So, taking public transportation is among the best ways to get there.

You can take the train to Perth station and then walk about 10 minutes to get to the church. Some may also take the bus to the Wellington St Bus Station, which is only a few minutes away.

Before or after you go to the church, we also suggest visiting a number of tourist spots near St. John’s Lutheran Church.

If you like art galleries, you can visit the Perth Cultural Centre, the Art Gallery of Western Australia, and the Western Australian Museum. All of these places are easy to get to on foot.

And there you go! We hope you find the best things to do in Vincent, Perth. May you find our guide useful for a fantastic trip!
