The Volcano Playground at Faulkner Park is a fun place for parents and kids (or kids at heart) to discover. We think this is a delightfully unique playground for science geeks or those enthusiastic about science fairs.
It’s close to the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre, which also has bathrooms and a nice café for your convenience.
The Belmont Forum Shopping Center is across the street, and it’s encircled by the Faulkner Park lake system. It’s close to the city’s civic centre, too, in case you need assistance from the local government.
Also, the fully enclosed playground contains several barbecues, benches, picnic tables, and shade sails.
Note that the entrance gates of the playground are opened at about 6 am and closed at dusk every day, so there seems to be a lot of time for you to visit.
This playground has activities for all ages. It includes a toddler playground as well as water play, flying play, sand play, and theme play.
Since a volcano in the middle of a deserted settlement is the theme, the volcano’s summit is reached by a spiralling footpath. There are slides for descent, and the top of the volcano spews smoke and lava-like mist.

At the Lone Ranges Shooting Complex in Belmont, you can take part in the thrill of shooting (safely) with real weapons.
Certainly, we strongly advise listening to their knowledgeable shooting instructors. They’ll walk you through fundamental firearms safety before letting loose your inner John Wick or Angelina Jolie.
This shooting range is also near the Graham Farmer Freeway in Belmont. It’s accessible to many since it’s only 10 minutes by car from the centre of Perth.

The Tomato Lake is a thriving natural area with a paved path that can be used for both walking and biking. It’s a wonderful location for a picnic with the family where you may see lots of birds.
This lake is on Oats Street in Kewdale. It has a wetland, a central lake, a 1.6-kilometer walking path, an island with a wildlife sanctuary, and a boardwalk that goes across the lake.
There are many activities to enjoy, like barbecuing, picnic tables, and a playground with enough turf for games and a spot to climb a net. A coffee shop is also available nearby.
