Opening Hours: Open 24 hours

The Volcano Playground at Faulkner Park is a fun place for parents and kids (or kids at heart) to discover. We think this is a delightfully unique playground for science geeks or those enthusiastic about science fairs.

It’s close to the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre, which also has bathrooms and a nice café for your convenience.

The Belmont Forum Shopping Center is across the street, and it’s encircled by the Faulkner Park lake system. It’s close to the city’s civic centre, too, in case you need assistance from the local government.

Also, the fully enclosed playground contains several barbecues, benches, picnic tables, and shade sails.

Note that the entrance gates of the playground are opened at about 6 am and closed at dusk every day, so there seems to be a lot of time for you to visit.

This playground has activities for all ages. It includes a toddler playground as well as water play, flying play, sand play, and theme play.

Since a volcano in the middle of a deserted settlement is the theme, the volcano’s summit is reached by a spiralling footpath. There are slides for descent, and the top of the volcano spews smoke and lava-like mist.

Children can run across stepping stones and foggers that are positioned among the palm trees. There are 4 leaping stones where children can try to catch water that shoots out of the ground in a ball.

Just make sure to keep an eye on your kids throughout. It’s better to avoid the need for ER doctors, pain specialists, dentists to implant new teeth, and the like.

Opening Hours: Tuesday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

At the Lone Ranges Shooting Complex in Belmont, you can take part in the thrill of shooting (safely) with real weapons.

Certainly, we strongly advise listening to their knowledgeable shooting instructors. They’ll walk you through fundamental firearms safety before letting loose your inner John Wick or Angelina Jolie.

This shooting range is also near the Graham Farmer Freeway in Belmont. It’s accessible to many since it’s only 10 minutes by car from the centre of Perth.

Of course, you must verify your identity before coming in. Bring any photo ID you have because it’s required to gain access to the range.

We recommend taking your passport, driver’s licence, or learner’s permit. For younger guests, the Student Smartrider is acceptable for ages between 13 and 18.

Don’t fret, because all rental agreements include the gun, ammo, safety gear, range time, targets, and instruction.

Payments would also likely be seamless because they accept Mastercard, Visa, PayPal, and AfterPay.

Walk around the Tomato Lake

Address: Oats St, Kewdale WA 6105, Australia

Opening Hours: Open 24 hours

The Tomato Lake is a thriving natural area with a paved path that can be used for both walking and biking. It’s a wonderful location for a picnic with the family where you may see lots of birds.

This lake is on Oats Street in Kewdale. It has a wetland, a central lake, a 1.6-kilometer walking path, an island with a wildlife sanctuary, and a boardwalk that goes across the lake.

There are many activities to enjoy, like barbecuing, picnic tables, and a playground with enough turf for games and a spot to climb a net. A coffee shop is also available nearby.

One of the most popular locations for weddings is the boardwalk or gazebo that juts out over the lake. Along with a variety of birds, the lake is home to ducks, ibis, and swans that add to its picturesque scenery.

As you know, Belmont forbids the use of both motorised and non-motorized craft on the water body to lessen the risk of wildlife injury and its effect on the lakeshore (including hobby boats).

You don’t need to worry about water as well. There are multiple filtered water stations for you and your canine friends all around the lake.

If your furry friends enjoyed this trip, we suggest also taking them to a lovely dog beach in Perth.

Contact Details: +61 451 738 779, [email protected]

Opening Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Sunday: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Fees: $1 (Adults), $0.5 (Children), $2 (Family of 4)

The Belmont Museum is good for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. They offer a wide range of local history-themed events, from talks and storytimes to crafts and workshops.

This museum is also housed in a specially constructed, early colonial-style structure. It features a collection of artefacts related to the local history of the neighborhoods within the City of Belmont.

If you’re interested in learning about the history of your house or tracing your family tree, the local history room at the Belmont Museum has a multitude of research materials that may help you.

You may browse their collection while they’re open. Otherwise, it’s great that you can schedule a time for some personalised assistance.

Their collections include early industrial and home goods, with a focus on horse racing. For school groups, hands-on activities are offered involving the use of early childhood apparatus.

You may also get a unique souvenir from their books for sale. Plus, they sell cold drinks, tea, and coffee to keep you refreshed nearby.

Conveniently, there’s wheelchair access to the building and toilets as well.

Just note that, like other museums or art galleries, some stories you may learn here may reveal a darker side to Belmont’s history. For their online tours, expect that these may involve some content that’s more appropriate for mature audiences.

Opening Hours: Wednesday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Saturday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Sunday: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Are you a bookworm and a bookstore fanatic, or does the smell of books just easily lure you in? If so, you might find the Ruth Faulkner Library a pleasing place to explore.

Make the most of your stay by using their PCs with internet access as well as their printing, scanning, and copying facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available for residents and visitors, so we know you can surf the web seamlessly.

Incredibly, this wonderful library is also part of the Belmont Mansion. This is near the museum, so you have more options to discover throughout the day.

Come to the new library to use their new spaces and amenities. Have fun when you browse through their collection and even borrow something you like.

Play Ball at the Cracknell Park

Address: Rivervale WA 6103, Australia

Contact Details: (08) 9477 7222, [email protected]

Opening Hours: Open 24 hours

A picnic in Cracknell Park, a trip to the playground, or a stroll out onto the jetty that spans the Swan River all make for enjoyable outings.

Play a game of outdoor ping-pong with your pals, unwind on the chaise lounges that overlook the river, or shoot hoops on their half-court. This is a colourful playground to get some exercise and sunshine.

This park also seems like a delightful site to visit with your dog and let them enjoy it without a leash. Still, pet owners need to follow several rules:

  • Dogs are not allowed to come within 5 metres of any area designated for use as a playground for kids.
  • When a playing field is being used for organised athletic events or other activities, as sanctioned by the local government, dogs are not allowed to get within 5 metres of the edge of the field.
  • In any parking lot, dogs must be on a leash.

Additionally, you may relax while looking at the lovely setting with steps leading down to the river. Follow the pathway alongside it if you also want to get to the stadium.

However, keep in mind that parking can be an issue. This is because the park is located in the developed area of Burswood, which has many modern apartments and dwellings.

We recommend arriving early to avoid competing for convenient parking spaces.

Going to iFLY is the answer if the idea of jumping out of a plane makes you uncomfortable. Plus, the indoor skydiving facility iFLY is only 10 minutes from Perth’s Central Business District, so it’s pretty accessible.

Once you’re inside the dome, all you have to do is lean into the wind; the massive columns of air will take care of the rest.

This is the best first-time skydiving experience because it’s age-appropriate, completely safe, and fully supervised. Many guests choose this activity for team-building exercises, educational purposes, and birthday parties.

They also let people of all skill levels fly, even people with disabilities – they have highly trained instructors on hand to assist everyone.

Of course, Mondays through Fridays throughout the school year bring in more guests. We advise booking your skydives before 10 am or after 5:30 pm to save money if you want to do so on the weekends.

At iFLY, a group is defined as 6 or more people, and those who book together can benefit from discounts. Additionally, there’s no limit to the group size, so having more people around can be more exciting.

And there you go! We hope you find the best things to do in Belmont for a fun-filled day of productive and relaxing activities.
