    Pros

    • Convenient city location
    • Beginner-friendly
    • Easy-to-book classes
    • Classes are comfortably small

    Cons

    • Lacks free parking
    • Might be pricey for casual Pilates trainees

Heartbeat High’s Perth location makes the “I’m too busy” excuse sound lame. Right in the heart of CBD, the fitness boutique is so reachable that nearby office workers can swing by during lunchtime.

Moreover, the place is welcoming, regardless if you’re a beginner or a fitness club member. We love the atmosphere and appreciate how it helps motivate people during classes.

Booking a class is quick and simple too. You can see the studio’s timetable online (complete with the Pilates type and fitness instructor), making the selection of dates easier.

However, know that the studio does not have free parking. You might need to walk or take public transport if you don’t want to pay a fee.

We also think it’s not a good idea to choose Heartbeat High if you’re trying for a single session and you’re on a budget. The casual Pilates class are a bit pricier than the regular ones.

That said, most people who try once will likely want more sessions, thanks to the friendly trainers and effective classes the studio offers.

    Pros

    • Wide range of Pilates classes
    • Also offers yoga classes
    • Clinical Pilates helpful for all ages
    • Plenty of parking space

    Cons

    • A bit far from CBD
    • Casual class pass can be pricey

Those looking for a broad selection of classes should check out Pilates Fit Perth. Aside from Pilates, the studio also offers other workout types, including yoga and barre.

The studio is also modern and furnished with state-of-the-art equipment to help you get the most out of your sessions.

What we love most is Pilates Fit’s inclusivity. The studio’s beginner-friendly sessions cater to all genders, kids and adults, pregnant women, and people with chronic injuries or conditions.

However, you can’t just walk over to the studio if you’re in the CBD area. We find the 20-minute drive to Pilates Fit tolerable, but some busy people might be better off choosing nearby locations for a quick session during weekdays.

Also, if you’re only casually doing Pilates, you’d probably spend a higher fee if you want to avail yourself of a comprehensive package. Membership fees are billed monthly and are reasonable, though.

    3. Urban OM

    Pros

    • Highly accessible location
    • Welcoming staff and friendly instructors
    • Open all week
    • Beginner-friendly

    Cons

    • Limited classes
    • Slightly expensive coffee

We think it’s genius how Urban OM combined workout and coffee. Because who would not want a sip of one of the world’s most popular beverages after sweating it out, right?

The cafe is adjacent to the yoga + Pilates studio, so it’s not news that some people who visited for the coffee ended up purchasing some classes. We so love the marketing strategy!

We also love that Urban OM has sunlit studios, complete with a view of the street and some trees, as they add life to the space.

However, no matter how enticing the coffee is, know that the studio only offers a few classes and only one Pilates course. Not recommendable if you’re a hardcore Pilates fan.

And though the class pass fees are reasonable, we think you can only make the most of your visit by purchasing the more expensive ones. Moreover, the coffee does not come cheap.

    4. LA Fit Studio

    Atmosphere5/5
    Location5/5
    Customer service4.5/5
    Responsiveness 5/5
    Helpfulness4/5

    Pros

    • Fun group classes
    • Open to all experience levels
    • Classes for custom health coaching available
    • Easily reachable location

    Cons

    • Pricey
    • No regular Pilates classes

LA Fit is known for its addictive classes, and we agree. The 45-minute Lagree sessions are packed to the brim, combining resistance training and cardio to take reformer Pilates to a whole new level.

The more intense sessions also mean you can see results faster, provided you follow your instructor.

What we love most about LA Fit is the sense of community it offers. The classes are enjoyable, as they are inclusive plus the instructors are friendly and respectful.

Training with a group can also be infectious. You will be motivated if enthusiastic people who love sessions as much as you do are around you.

But since LA Fit has more high-level equipment than other studios, class and membership fees are steeper. It’s not for casual Pilates students on a budget nor for those who aren’t ready for more rigorous sessions.

The studio is also strict with time. If you’re prone to coming late for sessions, you’d have to risk having your slot given to someone else.

    5. The Pilates Lab

    The Pilates Lab Homepage

Classes: Intro to Pilates, reformer Pilates, mat-work Pilates, chair Pilates, TRX, barre, cardio reformer, Boxilates, yoga, pregnancy Pilates

    Website: https://www.thepilateslab.com.au/

    Atmosphere5/5
    Location4/5
    Customer service4.5/5
    Responsiveness 4/5
    Helpfulness5/5

    Pros

    • Close proximity to the beach
    • Spacious and natural-lit exercise rooms
    • Plenty of classes to choose from
    • Small classes for clients with injury available

    Cons

    • Pricey rates
    • A little far from CBD

Classes aside, what ultimately made The Pilates Lab a must-try is its location. After all, the studio is just just a walking distance from Brighton Beach in Scarborough.

This makes the studio a top choice when you’re hitting the nearby coastal town on a vacation. You might take a break from work, but The Pilates Lab will ensure you don’t miss out on your exercise sessions.

We also appreciate the studio’s rooms for letting in abundant natural light. Such a sunlit space can help keep clients energized.

Of course, choosing Pilates Lab means you’ll have to put in some effort when you’re coming from CBD. Yes, the studio is not that far, but it’s also not as close as other options in the city.

The fees are also higher compared to other fitness boutiques. That said, you’ll have more classes to choose from and high-quality equipment to use.
