If your priority is getting access to one of Perth’s state-of-the-art MRI machines, come check out Envision Medical Imaging. Located in Wembley, they’re best known for their modern wide-bore MRI scanners that can provide superior image quality and patient comfort.

In fact, they offer two types of MRI machines: a 1.5T MRI and a 3T MRI. Basically, the 1.5T is for general purposes, while the 3T machine is better used for producing detailed images of smaller body parts, like your wrist. 

That’s why I wasn’t surprised when I found out that they offer specialised MRI services, including MRI TM joints and head MRI scans.

Aside from their machines, I’m also a huge fan of their mobile app (available on Play Store and App Store), which lets you access your results as soon as they’re available.

However, it’s disappointing to learn that they sometimes miss calls and emails.

Western Radiology, established in 2011, has grown to become a prominent MRI centre in the city. With three locations in Perth, they utilise one of the latest Siemens 1.5 Tesla MRI scanners, which ensures exceptional image clarity and diagnostic accuracy.

While their advanced MRI scanners are already a huge plus for me, I’m also amazed that they have their own consultant cardiologist, Dr. Adil Rajwani, who can provide special cardiac MRI services.

Dr. Adil holds a Level III accreditation of training with the Society of Cardiovascular MRI and can be trusted to provide accurate analysis of any heart MRI scans.

Furthermore, I appreciate the fact that they allow same-day and next-day bookings.

Still, they have some things they need to improve on, like their tendency to reschedule appointments at the last minute.

If your main priority is accessibility, then the Perth Radiological Clinic might be right up your alley. Established in 1948, it’s one of the oldest private medical imaging practices in Perth and has 13 locations where you can get MRI scanning services.

Having an experienced crew allows them to provide targeted MRI scans that deliver accurate images of specific body parts, like the breasts, prostate, and small intestines.

Additionally, it’s also good to learn that patients can access their MRI scan results easily via the myPRC Patient Portal. Even better, this online portal can access your entire record with the Perth Radiological Clinic as far back as 2006!

However, it should be noted that they faced a sizable number of complaints in regard to their slow services.

Capital Radiology is a medical diagnostic imaging centre located in Booragoon. As with most MRI centres, they can provide accurate images that are used to diagnose illnesses like cardiovascular conditions.

What makes them great is their dedication to patient comfort. In fact, most MRI machines they use are modified to have open cylinders equipped with lighting, making them a more palatable option for those who are suffering from claustrophobia.

Another thing I also liked is that they can provide noise-cancelling headphones to patients who are extremely bothered by an MRI machine’s loud noises.

To top it all off, they bulk bill Medicare directly for their services, reducing the hassle for us patients.

Still, I was a bit disappointed when I discovered that some patients encountered rude behaviour from Capital’s staff, especially from those at the front desk.

Another MRI centre that has an impressive reach is I-MED Radiology, which currently operates eight locations in the city. I find their MRI scanning services to be pretty comprehensive, as they can provide accurate imaging for conditions related to the brain, spine, joints, and soft tissues.

Aside from their services, I’m also impressed with how fast they can deliver results via the My I-MED online portal, which lets patients view and share their images from any device.

I-MED even has I-TeleRAD, which is a 24/7 telehealth service that delivers remote radiology reporting services to hospitals and solo practitioners.

Sadly, they’ve shifted towards a mixed-billing policy and charge a “gap fee,” as their prices are too expensive to be covered by Medicare alone. 

Oh well, at least they aren’t picky as to how they accept payments. You can pay them via cash, money order, EFT, or credit card.

The receptionists are far more than your average receptionists, Janny is a time efficiency genius, and everyone else worked very hard to not only get me seen too quickly, but make me feel very cared for. I’m very impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness of everyone that I saw.. I had X-rays, MRI and ultrasound done and people went to lunch late so I could get everything done at once. Thank you all very much. It’s hard enough being a chronic pain sufferer so it’s a real relief when people take such good care of you.”

I felt relaxed and comfortable throughout my appointment

“A warm greeting as soon as you walk in the door sets the tone for the experience.

Yesterday was my first experience of an MRI machine, but thanks to the incredibly helpful staff at Insight, I felt relaxed and comfortable throughout my appointment.

I arrived around 30 minutes early for my appointment, so I could fill in the paperwork. This only took 5 minutes, then I was taken straight through to get changed into the (really attractive) gown. From there, it was straight into the MRI room, where the technician talked me through exactly what was going to happen, before getting me up into the machine. I never felt rushed, but I never kept waiting, it was perfectly efficient!
