The Best Elderly Care Homes in Perth That Will Treat You Like Family
Choosing the right senior care center is something you simply can’t rush. After all, our elders deserve all the care, attention, and love so their golden years are truly special.
Understanding this, we searched the city for the finest elderly care homes. We visited multiple facilities, spoke with staff and residents, and carefully evaluated each home, from its amenities to the healthcare system.
After much research and consideration, we narrowed down the list to simplify your search.

Acacia Living Menora Gardens’ resort-style design took our attention: manicured gardens, tree-lined locale, and secured suburb setting.
The home (or technically, the village) isn’t one-dimensional, either. With open-plan modern bedroom units and villas, their accommodations can cover all tastes and budgets.
We also included them due to their world-class amenities. The community center is the highlight, but facilities like the library, restaurant, gym, and putting green are also praise-worthy.
What sealed the deal, though, is Menora Garden’s dementia-specific care, palliative care, and respite care services, all administered by specialist nurses, carers, and therapists.
Regarding the hiccups, their inquiry-response rate isn’t lightning-fast. If you’re in a hurry, it’s better to drop by the home than wait for weeks for an answer.
Additionally, the 5 to 6-km distance from the CBD may be a drawback. This separation from the city center might feel isolating, especially if you’re accustomed to an urban lifestyle.
Pros
- Diverse accommodation
- Laid-back atmosphere
- Delicious food
- Spacious
- Dedicated medical staff
Cons
- Slow replies
- Distance from the CBD

Five stars.”

Just like the first entry, the 15-hectare Swancare’s Bentley Park is a slice of suburban paradise. They also cater to all budget types, even adding limited rental units and visitor accommodation to their lodging selection.
On top of that, the retirement village has services galore. The notable ones include a reliable security system, personalized home and medical support, dynamic communal activities, and easy travel options.
Getting bored won’t be an issue, as well. Whether you’re in the mood to cook up a storm with your friends or burn calories, Bentley Park’s first-class amenities like BBQs, indoor pool, and gym will keep you active.
Plus, there are cafes around for those looking to savor delectable food and drinks—all dietician-approved. The meals, however, can be a bit pricey, and you might not enjoy their average flavors.
Complaints about unhygienic rooms and faulty hearing aids have been thrown at them, too.
Pros
- Great facilities
- Attentive staff
- Numerous services
- Relaxed atmosphere
- Convenient transport services
Cons
- Pricey and average meals
- Faulty care equipment

Adding Rosewood Aged Care here was a no-brainer. For starters, they’re one of the most complete in Perth, with services like pet therapy, cultural gatherings, yoga, and happy hour deals.
Their proximity to the city center is also a boon, especially for elders who frequent shopping precincts or urban parks. This perk is made better by the regular bus excursions to local hotspots.
All of these pros, however, wouldn’t matter if the medical services are subpar. This isn’t the case, as Rosewood boasts professional, long-term, holistic, and personalized care.
There are a few past hiccups you have to consider, though.
For example, their dementia care team has been criticized for mishandling elders with dementia and not accepting those with “difficult” behavior. Although they’ve made improvements, these issues shouldn’t be overlooked.
Secondly, their response rate isn’t the fastest, a huge challenge for those who need a home ASAP.
Pros
- Diverse amenities
- Professional care services
- Pet-friendly services
- Near the CBD
- Vibrant community
Cons
- History of poor dementia care
- Slow communication

A look at Home Instead Perth Metro’s relationship-centered care programs will give you an idea of why they’re here. Simply put, their approach is individualized, all-encompassing, and most importantly, compassionate.
Moreover, it doesn’t matter if you require assistance with day-to-day errands, personal care, palliative care, respite care, or dementia care; their highly-trained and professional staff will deliver.
Another significant reason Home Instead made our list is their ability to assist without making you wait. Their round-the-clock support system ensures you receive care whenever needed, regardless of the time or day.
We also love their effective transport system, mostly used for medical appointments, family getaways, and hospital-to-home transfers.
Just prepare yourself for possible appointment cancellations. To be specific, their case manager has received flak for canceling appointments without rescheduling.
The company also has a history of communication errors. Their representatives have given conflicting and confusing answers.
Pros
- Personalized care plans
- 24/7 support system
- Convenient transport system
- Well-trained staff
- In-home services
Cons
- Communication errors
- Appointment cancellation

Connecting with fellow residents has never been an issue at CraigCare Ascot Waters. For those wondering why, it’s because the home features facilities and activities made for communal gatherings.
In addition, their living areas combine luxury and natural charm. Basking in sunlight and flaunting chic fixtures, these rooms are a bang for your buck, whether you’re in them for entertainment or relaxation.
The entire location is also supported by registered health professionals. This means you’ll enjoy 24/7 specialized care services.
Furthermore, the home has function halls where you can throw a party with your family.
For the downsides, the home underwent an audit due to clinical and safety issues. Their service was reaccredited this February 2024.
A few clients have also raised concerns about minor medication errors, but the most serious complaints involve allegations of potential theft, a few disrespectful staff members, and a lack of transparency from the management.

Staff Have Been Amazing
“Craig Care Ascot Waters is beautiful. Staff have been amazing with my parents. They don’t stop eating and kept busy with activities. Thanks to all for making a difficult time in their lives, so much easier and less stressful.”

Helpful And Friendly
“My mum has dementia. Choosing a home came down to location for family. Craigcare was new and fresh and close by. Staff that I dealt with were helpful and friendly. We loved the coffee shop, hairdressers and activities. Age care is a hard process for any family plus we had to navigate COVID which made in even more challenging. Keep your sense of humour, ask a lot of questions and know staff are doing their best.”
