I dropped by their Willetton studio to chat with Donna, the principal, and the welcoming atmosphere was obvious right away.  They really focus on building confidence alongside coordination. 

They even offer an officially licensed preschool programme to get little ones moving early on. 

The only real downside is that they enforce strict uniform and grooming rules, so your child will need a proper classical ballet bun and specific footwear after the initial grace period. It can get a bit pricey sorting out all the gear.

I actually chatted with a regular student there who told me the sessions completely transformed her self-esteem. You even get thrilling opportunities to perform in live shows or professional video shoots. 

But you should look elsewhere if you want classical ballet or traditional partner styles, as their weekly timetable lacks those entirely.

Stepping onto the floor as an older beginner is never scary at this fantastic North Perth studio. The Dance Workshop caters specifically to adult and mature-age students, providing an incredibly friendly, non-competitive setting to learn dance. 

You can explore a diverse range of movement styles, including classical ballet, tap, Bollywood, flamenco, and K-pop.

I love that they offer great flexibility by providing both structured six-week basics courses and casual drop-in timetables to suit busy lifestyles. 

Joining these active sessions is an amazing social hobby, just like booking local cooking classes or creative pottery classes. 

Just keep in mind that the studio closes completely on Sundays, so you can’t book any weekend sessions on that specific day.

I tried one of their Wednesday night social sessions recently and loved how welcoming the energy felt. They have a massive hardwood floor and even a fully licensed bar. 

As a bonus, students enrolled in their structured courses get free entry to their popular Friday night social dance events. 

However, you have to plan your outfit carefully because they enforce a strict smart casual dress code that completely bans sneakers, plain t-shirts, and workwear.

Plus, they regularly host exciting community jams, battle events, and specialised workshops featuring international guest artists. 

I also love that the studio is highly accessible since it’s just five minutes away from the main central business district (CBD).

However, their multi-class passes come with strict expiration dates. You have to use a ten-class pass within six weeks.

Highly recommend Hip Hop Class!!

Alice is incredibly kind and supportive, making learning to dance an enjoyable experience, especially for someone who is a beginner like me. They have such an inclusive community! I’ve been attending the hip hop classes for 2 months now, and can see some progression. So happy to have found a new hobby here. A great place to build a strong Hip Hop foundation

A great dance studio with exceptional teachers and a strong sense of community!

During my two-year stay in Australia, I decided to take a Hip Hop class to start a new hobby and explore a new sport.

I truly appreciated the openness and warmth of the teachers and students. After just one class, I knew I wanted to continue and ended up practicing there for the rest of my stay in Australia.
