Operating hours:
- 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM (TUES-THURS)
- 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (FRI and SAT)
One of the top restaurants I keep coming back to to satiate my souvlaki cravings is Brika. It has great food and especially great atmosphere that kind of reminds me of the traditional Greek tavernas I visited back in Greece.
Out of all the dishes I’ve tried here, their slow-roasted lamb is my favourite. The meat was so tender and flavorful that it practically melted in my mouth! It even tastes better when paired up with either their fresh salad or their pita bread.
I also love the rich variety of drinks available here. They have cocktails, wines, beers, and ouzo, which is a dry anise-flavoured aperitif that’s popular in Greece. If you still haven’t tried it, it tastes quite similar to sambuca.
Pro tip: If you don’t have the time to order a full meal, you can still catch a quick grub from Brika’s hole-in-the-wall cafe, Filos & Yiros. It mostly serves light meals that you can hold with one hand, like lamb gyros and halloumis.

Address: Markets, Shop Y104A 74 South Terrace and entry Via, Parry St, Fremantle
Operating hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (FRI-SUN)
Whenever I visit the Fremantle Markets, I make it a habit to order something from Acropolis Souvlaki. This food stall is all about creating the finest souvlaki that are made with locally sourced ingredients.
My personal pick here is their bestseller, the Acropolis Plate. Its tender meat, which is always marinated and grilled, has a smoky, savoury taste with a slight char that’s absolutely mouthwatering.
Alongside it is a mix of cucumbers, garlic, and dill to give it a bit of refreshing coolness in each bite. To top it all off, a generous drizzle of tzatziki sauce is added to ensure your tongue will be left with a creamy taste that’ll keep you asking for more.
Pro tip: You can actually customise your meals here by either adding or removing spices. Alongside tzatziki sauce, the other spices Acropolis Souvlaki has are BBQ sauce, sweet chilli, hollandaise, and homemade mustard.

Yefsi at Attika is great for times when I want to eat out with my friends and family. Located in the Attika Hotel, it has that casual vibe with a Greek street festival-like ambience that’s perfect for communal dining.
It’s also great that many of the dishes here are made using the owner’s family recipes. Some notable examples you should definitely try are their souvlaki skewer, tirokafteri, and paidakia.
Personally, my go-to order here is the grilled squid that’s drizzled with ladolemono sauce. Its tender and succulent meat has a delicate sweetness to it, which is further enhanced by a bright touch of lemon and fragrant herbs.

Another Greek restaurant that I hold dear close to my heart is Zeus Street Greek. While this place is a bit of a ways away from my home, I still make an effort to come here from time to time thanks to the delicious light meals served here.
One such example is their chargrilled loukaniko. It features a flavourful Greek sausage that has a slightly smoky char on the outside, giving it a deliciously crisp texture, while the inside remains tender and bursting with savoury, aromatic spices.
The addition of creamy tzatziki sauce and soft pita bread enhances the meal, adding volume and taste. Fresh lemon wedges are also included so you’re guaranteed to get a zesty tang that perfectly complements the tzatziki’s creamy flavour.
Pro tip: You can make sure that your meal is ready upon your arrival by ordering it on the Zeus Street Greek app. Not only that, but this app also lets you earn some points with every purchase, which you can then use to get exclusive deals.

It’s no secret that Subiaco, one of Perth’s biggest food hubs, has an amazing Greek restaurant too. It’s named Yiamas and is quite popular for its open-air courtyard, rustic wood furnishings, and warm lighting that makes you feel right at home.
It also boasts an impressive menu that draws deeply from ancient Greek culinary traditions. When I saw it for myself, I immediately understood why they won the WA Good Food Guide’s New Restaurant of the Year 2024 award.
One dish that particularly caught my attention was the Corfu-style charred mullet. It’s perfectly charred and topped with a vinegary tomato sauce that cuts through the rich smokiness, creating a delightful blend of flavours and textures.
Pro tip: Check the weather forecast first before visiting this restaurant! Most of the seating here is outdoors, so there’s a good chance the indoor tables will fill up quickly during bad weather.

I go to El Greco Cafe for times when I need a place to unwind and relax. Located in Stirling, this relaxing spot, with its rustic decor, Greek background music, and outdoor seating area, offers a welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for ending a busy day.
A dish I frequently order here is the spanakopita, a traditional Greek pastry filled with spinach, feta cheese, and herbs, all wrapped in phyllo dough. It has that earthy, aromatic depth with hints of saltiness as the cheese melts in your mouth.
I also make sure to always order a cup of Greek coffee to wash down my meal. It’s perfect if you love strong coffee because it’s a strong, dark brew made with finely ground coffee beans that are boiled in a traditional briki pot.
Pro tip: You can hire El Greco Cafe to serve as your caterer for weddings and birthday parties. Visit this page to learn more about their catering menu and how you can contact them for your upcoming event.

Address: 345 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco
Contact details: +61 417 185 671
Operating hours: 5:30 PM – 10:00 PM (TUES-SAT)
Another Subiaco restaurant you should visit, especially with friends, is Lady of Ro. Named after the Greek hero Despina Achladioti, this restaurant offers an impressive mix of Mediterranean dishes, especially ones that originated from Greece.
What makes this restaurant so good for me is that every dish served here is made for sharing. That’s why my friends and I often dine in this place, especially to order our favourite dish, the lamb rack with tzatziki.
I like its tender meat infused with the aromatic essence of rosemary, garlic, and olive oil, delivering a subtle yet invigorating spice. That spice is then balanced by the tzatziki’s tangy taste, creating a harmonious mix of flavours.
Pro tip: Keep in mind that Lady of Ro is a BYO establishment, so they don’t have a liquor licence. You’ll need to purchase your alcoholic drinks elsewhere and pay an $8 corkage fee to enjoy them with your meal.
