The Best Airbnb Locations in Perth to Elevate Your Staycation

The Best Airbnb Locations in Perth to Elevate Your Staycation

With its calm, sunny weather and relaxing atmosphere, Perth offers the best staycation experience you can enjoy. However, as a local, I find hotel stays to be bland.

That’s why I’ve decided to elevate my staycations by instead booking the city’s Airbnbs! Unlike the done-to-death concepts found in hotels, these ones have given me the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and allure of Perth in a whole new light!

So if you’re looking to reinvent the way you do staycations, book your reservation at these amazing Airbnbs in Perth.

Heart of the City Hideaway

Heart of the City Hideaway

Address: Mounts Bay Road

Let’s start with a place that’s right in the centre of Perth. The Heart of the City Hideaway is an enchanting Airbnb spot that’s well-loved by almost every guest it welcomes, scoring about 4.98/5 on Airbnb’s website.

This 1940s Art Deco apartment offers a delightful blend of heritage charm and modern comfort. In particular, I fell in love with its vantage point where I enjoyed stunning views over the Swan River and Langley Park.

It was also a delight to experience the various amenities available in this apartment. Some notable examples I can remember are its 32-inch HDTV (with free Netflix) and its dedicated workspace.

Pro tip: Once you’re settled, make sure to check out the nearby attractions in the Perth CBD. Some iconic ones you don’t want to miss are the Perth Mint, the Perth Town Hall, Blue Boat House, and Kings Park and Botanic Garden.

Heritage Home in the Heart of the City (Salvation Army Building)

Heritage Home in the Heart of the City

Address: 69 Murray St

If you want to experience a night in a historic building, make sure to book a reservation in the Heritage Home in the Heart of the City. Nestled in the Perth CBD, this former Salvation Army Congress Hall now serves as an Airbnb listing.

Of course, what makes this place so intriguing for me is its rich history and architectural charm. Built in the Inter-War Georgian style in 1929–30, this heritage-listed building is made iconic by its red bricks and humble exterior.

The inside is no slouch, either. Here, I was able to enjoy spacious interiors that are filled with both antique furniture and modern appliances. Its highlight is the third bedroom on the top floor, which has an impressive view of the city.

Pro tip: Are you curious if there are any other historical sites in Perth where you can also spend the night? The Fremantle Prison also has rooms where guests can stay and learn more about Perth’s history!

You can book a room here.

For a memorable stay in the City of Light, don’t forget to reserve a date in the Designer’s Pad. Located in Northbridge, this modern, minimalist condominium invites its guests into a world of contemporary design and urban vibes.

In particular, the thing I find awesome about this place is the decor that adorns it. Here, you’ll find a mix of pop art paintings and retro appliances like rotary dial phones that’ll make you feel nostalgic for a bygone age.

It’s also amazing that this condominium has a deck where you can sip your morning coffee and admire the beautiful view of the Perth skyline. It also has a massive TV where you can watch some cable or the latest Netflix shows.

Pro tip: At night, feel free to explore Northbridge! Known as the nightlife capital of Perth, this suburb is filled with amazing bars and nightclubs like Vincent Wine and Ezra Pound where you can taste exquisite cocktails.

Ralph’s Place

Ralph’s Place

Address: Fremantle

Book Here

Ralph’s Place, located in the historic city of Fremantle, is perfect for those looking to experience living in the iconic industrial-style apartments commonly found in New York City.

This heritage-listed building is best known for its architecture that was prevalent during the interwar years of Perth. In particular, its mix of red bricks and corrugated metal walls reminds me of the factories that used to dot the city.

Once inside, you’ll be treated to a wide array of modern furniture and artworks that perfectly complement the industrial vibe of this place. This apartment even has a patio where you can hang out and enjoy dinner with your friends.

Pro tip: Please take note that Ralph’s Place isn’t suitable for kids to stay in. This place is only accessible by climbing on a steep staircase that can pose a safety concern for young children and toddlers.
Furthermore, its spacious balcony isn’t fully child-proof, so you’ll need to always supervise your kids should you decide to stay here.

Parklife

Parklife

Address: Mount Lawley

Book Here

Ever wondered how it feels like to live in one of Mount Lawley’s iconic homes? Then book your stay in Parklife, an enchanting Airbnb gem nestled near the leafy embrace of Hyde Park.

This retro 60s apartment offers you a chance to experience the golden years of Perth while enjoying modern comforts. Its minimalist furniture and interior take full advantage of the apartment’s space to create a homely and welcoming atmosphere.

In particular, I fell in love with the various plants that perfectly add a touch of greenery to this apartment.

Furthermore, this place even has a patio complete with garden benches and tables that are perfect for hosting an afternoon tea or morning coffee.

Pro tip: Not in the mood to cook up some dinner? Don’t worry because Mount Lawley is one of Perth’s biggest food hubs!

In fact, Parklife is only a couple of hundred metres away from exciting restaurants like The Beaufort, Goreng Goreng, and Ribs Lane.

For beach lovers out there, don’t miss out on Cottesloe Neue Blue! A hidden gem nestled along the sun-kissed shores of Cottesloe Beach, this exquisite Airbnb spot is great for those seeking an idyllic coastal escape away from city noise.

Of course, the highlight of this place is its impressive view of the beach and the Indian Ocean. I stayed here once, and let me tell you, the sunset from here is nothing short of impressive!

Aside from the amazing view, this apartment also features luxurious furniture and appliances like a widescreen TV, a Cassina modular sofa, and some Cassina swivel armchairs. Its flooring is even made by Herringbone Sauvignon.

This house can accommodate up to four people at once thanks to its two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and another with two single beds. It also features amenities like a TV set, a washing machine, and a dryer.

Of course, the highlight of this property is its private balcony that provides an uninterrupted view of the Indian Ocean. The balcony also has a bar so you can sip some fine wines as you watch the sun slowly set over the horizon.

Silver Street Studios

Silver Street Studios

Address: South St., Fremantle

Book Here

Another captivating Airbnb listing you’ll find in Fremantle is Silver Street Studios. This iconic house was once an artist’s studio and an art gallery before it finally became the ideal romantic retreat we have today.

I love its barn-style studio, as it boasts high ceilings, allowing natural light to flood the space.

Furthermore, its heavy use of timber as its posts and ceilings really helps sell the rustic vibe of this place. Not to mention, this house is also adorned with various paintings and vintage furniture that perfectly complements its aesthetic.

Pro tip: Please take note that this house is marketed mostly as a romantic retreat. Thus, it only has a bed enough for two people.

Make sure to contact the Airbnb host, Judy, if you’re booking this place for three or more people so she can include an additional bed before your arrival.

Treehouse in the Australian bush

Treehouse in the Australian bush

Let’s discuss one of my favourite Airbnb listings, Treehouse in the Australian bush. Nestled within the tranquil Swan Valley, this place offers a magical escape from the ordinary while only being an hour’s drive away from the Perth CBD.

Perched on a ridge, this Airbnb accommodation boasts breathtaking views stretching northward to the coastal plain. Its massive deck is one of my favourite spots, as it allows me to take in the scenery while enjoying a warm cup of coffee in the morning.

Aside from its deck, this place also features a tonne of amenities that kept me relaxed during my stay. Some examples are a private hot tub, an indoor fireplace, an outdoor barbeque spot, and a secluded outdoor spa.

Magical Honeysuckle Cottage

Magical Honeysuckle Cottage

For those who prefer closer options, there’s the Magical Honeysuckle Cottage. Located in the town of Bickley, southeast of the Perth CBD, it took me half an hour to reach this majestic cottage that reminds me of the houses described in fairytales.

Built in the 1900s, this enchanting abode has a vintage character that evokes a sense of nostalgia within me.

Its centrepiece is its massive alfresco, where I was able to enjoy a clear view of the Bickley Valley and the city’s skyline from the distance.

Furthermore, I also loved the place’s massive garden and charming gazebo, as they served as a fun relaxation spot for me and my friends. And to top it all off, there’s also an outdoor hot tub and a sauna here to rejuvenate and refresh your body.

Pro tip: Do you need to stay fit and active during your stay? Thankfully, Magical Honeysuckle Cottage is only a 5-minute drive away from Kalamunda National Park.
