Founded in a small shed in 2018, Global 3D has grown rapidly and now offers advanced 3D printing techniques, including stereolithography (SLA) and selective laser sintering (SLS).

I’m particularly impressed with their SLS service, which uses high-powered lasers to fuse small particles into a single object. This extreme precision allows them to create complex items, like prosthetics and automotive parts.

They also provide vapour smoothing, a technique that gives 3D-printed parts a smooth, glossy finish. It’s perfect for making your creations look professional.

Moreover, they offer free delivery across Australia for 3D-printed items over $50, making it easy and affordable to use their services.

However, they do manage a large volume of orders daily. So, be prepared for a bit of a wait before your design gets crafted.

Pros

  • Offers SLA and SLS 3D printing
  • Offers vapour smoothing
  • Free delivery for orders costing $50

Cons

  • Limited availability for new clients
  • Sometimes forgets to respond to enquiries

I can’t express how happy I am with the result

“Global 3d printed a set of orthotics for me in a material that was flexible and the result was orthotics that were vastly more comfortable than the original. I can’t express how happy I am with the result.”

Awesome team that provides a great 3D printing result

“Awesome team that provides a great 3D printing result. Upon printing my design, James from Global 3D tested the product fitting and realised it would require a small modification to improve its functionality. James did not hesitate to contact me and send a quick sketch of the required modification while offering to reprint it at no additional cost.”

Let’s talk about the shop I went to for my little project, 3D Printing Perth. This shop has been operating since 2016 and is widely known for its Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and resin 3D printing services.

I chose them because of their simplified 3D printing service. All I had to do was upload my 3D model file on their website, choose my preferred printing method and filament, and wait for a notification.

Soon enough, my finished product was ready to be delivered.

Another cool thing about this shop is that they also sell and repair 3D printing machines, which is great if you’re into the DIY side of things. However, I did find their delivery to be a bit slow. I had to wait almost a week for my product to arrive.

    Pros

    • Offers FDM and resin 3D printing
    • Simplified 3D printing service
    • Sells and repairs 3D printers
    • Has rental 3D printers

    Cons

    • Slow delivery service
    • Doesn’t offer 3D design services

Located in Balcatta, E-Jet 3D Printing is a standout provider of advanced 3D printing services in Perth. They primarily specialise in SLA and FDM 3D printing techniques, which are quite popular for creating high-precision models.

They also offer a wide selection of printing filaments, like Ultimaker and Polymaker, that are tailored to meet the specific needs of any project. Whether you need durability or flexibility, you have the freedom to choose the filament that best suits your design.

Another impressive aspect is their comprehensive computer-aided designing (CAD) services. They excel at creating 3D models from scratch and reverse-engineering existing parts into digital formats for easy modification and duplication.

However, one downside is that they operate strictly by appointment, which can be a bit frustrating. You’ll need to book at least a day in advance to access their services.

With over 25 years under their belt, Afaridan Plastics stands out as one of Perth’s oldest and most experienced providers of 3D printing services. Their expertise spans a wide range of techniques and technologies, including FDM, SLA, SLS, multijet printing, and colorjet printing.

Another thing that sets them apart is they can provide food-safe 3D printing, which is a fantastic option for those seeking affordable, reusable food containers.

They also excel in 3D scanning, which allows for precise measurements and easy modifications with CAD software. This is perfect for replicating existing parts or creating new designs based on real objects.

My only major issue is their location. Being located in Malaga means that customers living south of the Swan River will have to travel further just to get their finished products.

          Pros

          • Wide range of 3D printing techniques
          • Can do food-safe 3D printing
          • Offers 3D scanning services

          Cons

          • Location a bit far from Perth’s southern suburbs
          • Unavailable on weekends
