Julia Plamenig has been a treat to work with in improving my overall well-being. As I spoke with her, I felt their passion for helping people feel good in their bodies.

They brought enthusiasm and authenticity to our conversations, making it easier for me to learn and accept their insights.

It also helped that Plamenig has multiple qualifications, such as a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine) from Endeavour College of Natural Health in 2021.

They’ve also worked as a Personal Trainer for ten years. No wonder it was easy for them to work with clients!

More importantly, their qualifications helped in creating the meal plan and exercise regimen that worked for me!

Aside from helping people lose weight, they can also help with digestive issues, cardiovascular health management, and chronic disease management.

However, Plamenig is only available via appointment, so it’s best to contact them as soon as possible.

If you’re looking for real, sustainable results without the gimmicks, Body Balancing Nutrition (BBN) is one of Perth’s top-rated nutrition clinics. With over 15 years of experience and thousands of transformations, they focus on helping clients achieve their healthiest selves through personalised, evidence-based nutrition coaching—without fad diets, restrictive meal plans, or calorie counting.

What sets them apart? Unlike many weight loss clinics, BBN doesn’t believe in quick fixes. Their programs are designed to help clients lose weight sustainably (500g-1kg of fat per week) while maintaining muscle mass. Their InBody scans give clients a full breakdown of muscle, fat, and hydration levels, ensuring that progress isn’t just about the number on the scale but about true, lasting health improvements.

BBN also caters to plant-based, gluten-free, and energy-focussed nutrition. They provide one-on-one consultations with expert nutritionists and dietitians, making their services ideal for anyone looking to improve their health, manage their weight, or fuel their body better.

However, BBN is not a medical clinic and does not provide eating disorder treatment or specialist care for medical conditions.

For anyone serious about long-term health and sustainable weight loss, BBN’s expert team, personalised programs, and real-food philosophy make it one of the best choices in Perth.

Pros

  • Can claim Medicare rebates
  • Understanding and compassionate approach
  • Costs available online
  • Non-diet approach

Cons

  • Charges a hefty cancellation fee
  • Small team

Be Mindful Nutrition has two accredited dietitians in their team, Natalie Scott, and Terreen Stenvers. Both are accredited dietitians and eating disorder-expert clinicians.

With over 40 years of combined experience, Natalie and Terreen have received adequate training and practice. They approach their clients in a compassionate, nonjudgmental manner.

You can come in if you require assistance with your diet with or without underlying health conditions. Both of them conduct eating disorder treatment, which you can get Medicare rebates for.

Their clients appreciate how they have a non-diet approach and focus on health, lifestyle, and behavioural changes instead. This means they don’t provide strict diets with calorie counts or focus too much on your weight.

We’re happy to report that clients who went to Be Mindful Nutrition noted that they now have a better quality of life with peace over their food and weight.

We also appreciate how everything is transparent on their website—from fees to insurance information. Initial consultations are priced at $180, with follow-ups at $160.

We do think their services are worth the price they charge, but we encourage you to ensure you can attend your consultation, as they charge a 50% fee if you cancel less than 48 hours from your appointment and 100% if you cancel on the day.

Pros

  • Partnered with AIA
  • Compassionate approach
  • Clients feel cared for
  • Can work with different health conditions

Cons

  • No bulk-billing
  • On the expensive side
  • No online price estimates

Dietwise has been one of the leading dietitian clinics in Perth for over 30 years. Its founder, Sonya Douglas, has since built a team of licensed dietitians to cater to their clients’ different needs.

What we like best about Dietwise is that they work with all kinds of patients and can work with you regardless of what health condition you may have.

They don’t only accept clients who need general lifestyle and well-being improvement but also those with more specialised issues.

These could be nutritional deficiencies, weight concerns and management, and chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.

The clients we’ve spoken to all mentioned that they felt genuinely cared for and their nutritionist took time to understand them before coming up with a tailored plan that fit their specific needs.

Unless you have private insurance from AIA, you’ll have to pay out of pocket, although they can give Medicare rebates. The latter, however, is only available for those seeking treatment for an eating disorder or a chronic disease.

Unfortunately, they don’t offer any price estimates for their fees online, although from our research we’ve found that they can charge around $200 for a single consultation.

Rates can still vary depending on the specific service you require.

Additionally, they don’t offer bulk billing options, and you’d have to pay out of pocket regardless of whether you’re eligible for Medicare or private insurance rebates.

6. Diet by D’Zyne

Pros

  • Specialises in post-bariatric patients
  • Patient dietitian
  • Sells food products and meal replacements
  • Sets realistic programs

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer Medicare rebates
  • Doesn’t specialise in treatment for eating disorders
  • Short consultation time

Diet by D’Zyne has three practising dietitians in their team, although most patients see their principal dietitian, Jo-Anne Dembo.

Jo specialises in post-bariatric patients and those who have undergone other procedures such as gastric sleeves, gastric bypass surgery, intra-gastric balloons, and gastric bands.

They also sell food products such as protein powder, protein drinks, and meal replacement shakes for those who are adjusting to a new diet after having bariatric surgery.

Jo’s clients have commended her for her approach, calling her patient and understanding. They felt that Jo was able to give them a tailored yet sustainable diet plan as they recovered from their surgery.

While they see clients for eating disorders, we don’t recommend their services to those looking for this specific treatment, as their staff doesn’t have the proper credentials to conduct this.

Those who came to see them for eating disorder treatment reported that they felt as though they weren’t understood and that the dietitians weren’t well-versed in their condition.

Our main gripe with them, however, is that their consultation only lasts for 30 minutes, which is less than the standard of 50 minutes or an hour.

Thus, some clients have felt that their appointment was rushed, as they had to go over as many things as possible. It’s for this reason we think they’re a tad overpriced, given their consultation time.

7. Physical Nutrition

Pros

  • Provides individual, group, and corporate consultations
  • Has online courses and fitness programs
  • Great for those looking to lose weight
  • Can work with your GP

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer Medicare rebates
  • Doesn’t specialise in treatment for eating disorders

Physical Nutrition aims to provide practical and holistic nutrition services to each of their clients. Its owner and founder, Fiona Murray, has 16 years of experience in health and nutrition.

Fiona’s specialties include gut health disorders, weight loss, hormone dysfunctions, IBS, and personal training.

She can also conduct different tests such as ECAL metabolic testing, body composition analysis, microbiome testing, and food allergy and intolerance testing.

If you’re looking to lose weight, she has multiple options that you can choose from. You can opt to have a one-on-one weight loss program or join her programs such as the seven-day body blast or the 12-week fitness challenge.

The 12-week fitness challenge offers a free week for you to try out that already includes free workout videos, a seven-day meal plan, access to recipes, and education seminars.

We also appreciate how Fiona is willing to work with your GP, especially if you have underlying health conditions that need to be taken into consideration.

Despite her multiple specialties, Fiona doesn’t specialise in treating eating disorders and doesn’t have the training to do so.

While you can still avail of her services if you’re seeking this specific treatment, we think other options on this list will be much better for you.

Furthermore, all fees will be paid out of pocket, as they don’t offer rebates for Medicare or private insurance plans.
