Top 5 Immigration Lawyers in Perth

How We Picked the Top-Rated Immigration Lawyers in Perth

Experience

It’s best to pick a lawyer who not only has years of experience in the legal field but also relevant experience in immigration cases.

Character

It’s important to pick a lawyer who has a record of integrity and compassion, especially due to the nature of immigration cases.

Communication style

Legal jargon can be intimidating, so we made sure to choose lawyers who are able to communicate effectively with their clients.

Cost

You should get the best legal services without breaking the bank. Thus, we chose lawyers who charge reasonable rates.

Pros

  • Wide range of services
  • Patient lawyers
  • Trustworthy
  • Highly responsive

Cons

  • Expensive fees
  • Occasional miscommunication with client

Estrin Saul Lawyers and Migration Specialists mainly focuses on immigration concerns, and we are sure that they can address any possible issue you may have with your visa or immigration status.

From appeals, visa cancellations, expired visas, marriage and partner visas, business visas, and even refugee and humanitarian cases—they’ve got you covered.

We appreciate how thorough their online site is, and you can browse their full range of services as well as their price range.

Their consultations start at $330. After which they’ll give you a more detailed fee estimate on their services.

You can, however, look at their estimated price range for their professional fees.

Their median price is $2,000 with some services going up to $5,000. So, if this is outside of your budget for the services you require, it’s best to look at other options.

We do think their prices are justified for the quality of service they provide. Most of the clients we’ve spoken to were satisfied with the service they received and described their lawyers as being helpful and patient.

These clients said they had no trouble trusting their lawyer with their legal concerns, especially with the level of communication they were provided. Their lawyers were highly communicative and gave constant updates on their cases.

We only heard one complaint coming from a client who had a misunderstanding with one of the lawyers, but fortunately, this is a rare occurrence so we aren’t too worried about it.

Pros

  • Quick responses
  • Knowledgeable
  • Multiple locations nationwide
  • Can accommodate clients with short notice

Cons

  • Complaints on communication style
  • Occasional unsatisfactory advice

MyVisa® By Nilesh Nandan is a legal office with multiple locations nationwide. Luckily, you don’t need to make an in-person visit to their office for an initial appointment.

You can schedule a 10-minute conversation over the phone with Nilesh where he will take the time to listen to your case and suggest a way of going forward.

This initial phone call, however, doesn’t mean you will automatically become his client. This is a way for you to determine whether Nilesh and his team will be the right pick for you.

Our main gripe with this 10-minute phone call is that he charges $97 for it, which we think is too much. It may be a good option if you’re still hesitant about the lawyer you’ll choose, but opting for a one-hour conversation will save you more money.

There were mixed reviews on Nilesh’s communication style. Many of his clients have stated that they weren’t able to find a better lawyer who was able to understand their case well, but others reported otherwise.

Some reported that they found the information and advice Nilesh provided to be misleading and that his office wasn’t as responsive as they initially expected.

These complaints, however, are rare and do not represent the majority. Most clients still found Nilesh and his team easy to deal with and can usually accommodate calls or consultations with short notice.

Pros

  • Knowledgeable
  • Over 30 years of experience
  • Highly responsive
  • Great communication style

Cons

  • May not be able to take in new clients in certain periods
  • No cost estimates online

On top of over 30 years of experience in the legal field, Sanling Chan is also a registered migration agent with the Migration Agents Registration Authority, which adds another factor of credibility to her profile.

What clients appreciate most about her is how highly responsive she is. She gets back to their inquiries within the day or on Monday should they reach out to her during the weekend.

These same clients report that their cases or appeals went successfully and Sanling’s advice was relevant to their situation. They also commended how skilled she is at communicating, as they felt their concerns were understood.

Some clients were also surprised at the speed at which their whole visa process was completed, as they expected a longer waiting period. This is where Sanling’s expertise comes in handy.

She is available for most of the year, but unfortunately, there may be certain periods when she will be unavailable to take in new clients. This is because she wants to ensure each case she handles will receive the attention it deserves.

If she’s unable to accommodate you, feel free to explore other options on this list.

Another minor disadvantage is that she has no cost estimates for her fees online, and while you can gauge the fees you’ll pay for government processing from a quick search, we think it would be helpful if she posted her consultation fees on her site.

4. Aussizz Group

Pros

  • Large team available
  • Best for students
  • Also offers PTE coaching
  • Knowledgeable team

Cons

  • Some unhelpful staff members
  • Some staff members are slow to respond

Aussizz Group is our recommendation if you’re a student looking to study in Australia or fix some issues with your visa. Other than visa services, they also offer education consultation and PTE coaching if your school or employer needs it.

However, their services aren’t for students only, as they can also work on other types of visas such as partner visas, GSM visas, employer-sponsored visas, business visas, and protection 866 visas for asylum seekers.

One of their biggest advantages is their large team, which means availability rarely becomes a problem should you need their services.

While most client feedback has been good about the approach and communication style of their team, the quality of service you receive will vary based on the specific staff member assigned to you.

Some clients have complained about the approach and communication style of certain staff members, with some claiming they felt that the staff wasn’t helpful and didn’t fully understand their concerns.

One way around this is to ask past clients about the specific staff member who handled their case to get the best quality of service possible.

There were also mixed complaints about their level of responsiveness, with some clients claiming they had to wait days before they received a response.

Upon further research, we found out that this was also dependent on the staff member assigned to you, so it’s best to request someone with a good track record of responsiveness.

Pros

  • Can accommodate overseas clients
  • Experienced and knowledgeable staff
  • Friendly and patient lawyers
  • Keeps clients updated

Cons

  • Minor complaints on responsiveness
  • No price estimates online
  • Small team

Putt Legal specialises in Australian immigration law. The two members of their team have years of relevant experience working with immigration law, and we like how their profiles are available online for you to examine.

Despite only having two lawyers available, availability doesn’t seem to be a problem thanks to their two paralegals who are ready to assist you. However, it’s still a good idea to call and enquire about their availability.

Their two lawyers, Jessica Edis and Amanda Valenti, all have good feedback from the clients we’ve spoken to. Clients mentioned they were easy to deal with and that they felt their concerns were understood.

They’re also a great pick if you’re overseas and looking to acquire an Australian visa, as they can accommodate foreign clients by communicating with you online.

We also appreciate how easy it is to set up a consultation with them, especially if you don’t have an Australian number. You can simply go to their website and fill up their online form to set up a consultation.

The online form is also straightforward and asks all the relevant questions to save you time during your consultation.

We’ve only heard minor complaints about their services, which were about their responsiveness and how it took some time before the clients’ enquiries were responded to.

They also don’t have a price estimate for their fees available on their website, but they offer hourly rates to charge you less.
