In fact, you can book a complimentary consultation and discuss your vision for your hair with one of their stylists.

Everyone in the salon delivers the best quality service possible, from the hairdressers to the receptionists. Of course, this level of service and expertise comes at a cost—literally.

Their cut and blow-dry start at $110 for a regular stylist, whereas a regular blow-dry starts at around $65–$90. This is above what customers usually expect to pay for a visit to the salon, and this has turned some potential clients away.

They do have a price list of their services on their website, and we highly encourage you to check it out for you to see whether their services are within your budget.

That said, most of their clients have said that they were highly satisfied with the services they received and came out feeling like a million bucks. That’s good news, of course, because it means the money you spend will be worth it.

However, due to their popularity, they do tend to be busy, so do call ahead if you’re planning on getting an appointment.

Tao of Hair does its best to stay true to its name. Not only does their salon have a relaxing atmosphere, but they’ve also been a sustainable salon since 2018.

This status means they charge a $3 green fee to help their salon waste be recycled and repurposed. We don’t think this is too much of a con, but it is something to take note of just so you won’t be surprised about the extra charge.

They offer a wide range of services for reasonable rates, with kids’ haircuts at a discounted rate. Additionally, you can also opt for their packages that combine hair treatments, hair colouring, and haircuts to save you some money.

Almost all of the clients we’ve spoken to were happy with the results and commended the staff for being patient and helpful when it came to giving their honest feedback on what would suit their hair best.

There were very few complaints about some stylists who were not able to meet the customer’s vision for their hair, but luckily these were rare complaints. Furthermore, from our research, the hairstylists in question no longer work here.

Their current team of hairstylists are professional and will help you create the look you desire, which is why they’ve landed a spot on our list.

Another sustainable salon that joins our list is Penny & Peach. They’re a trendy salon that provides the latest styles and technologies when it comes to hairstyling.

Most of their clients enjoy the experience of being inside their salon, which is clean, spacious, and cosy. This is a huge plus especially if your treatment will take you a couple of hours to finish.

They have a wide range of services, but we’d like to warn you ahead of time that they don’t come cheap. Their standard cut starts at $120, and their blow-dry with styling is at $86.

We are happy to report, however, that most of their clients found the money they paid to be worth it, as the customer service they received was exemplary. In fact, some clients travel all the way from different suburbs just to get their hair styled here.

There were a few reports of unsatisfied customers, and these mostly had to do with hairstylists insisting on a certain technique or cut that isn’t what the client had in mind. 

Of course, this led to additional complaints of how it wasn’t worth the premium price they paid for.

Thus, if you plan to get your hair styled at Penny & Peach, we suggest that you have a consultation with the stylist first and come to a clear agreement on your dream look to avoid any disappointment—and of course, to make it worth your money.

House of Haylo boasts a tropically designed salon that encourages a light and refreshing atmosphere. Their salon’s interiors are specifically designed to have a natura vibel, which is what they aim for in their services.

They pride themselves on using organic, low-toxic colouring materials, which is great for both the eco-friendly customer and those who have sensitive scalps that will react to harsh chemicals. 

They mostly focus on hair colouring services, and they have multiple colour packages for you to choose from.

However, their basic services like haircuts and blow-drys are a little too expensive for our liking, starting at $120 and $75, respectively. The rates even for these services will vary depending on your hair’s length, which we think is a tad excessive.

Since they specialise in hair colouring, we recommend you to get your hair coloured by them because you’ll get discounted rates for other services like haircuts and blow-drys. 

We’ve also heard of some clients who were made to wait for an available stylist despite already having an appointment set up, which we understand is frustrating to many.

They also have a $50 cancellation fee if you don’t cancel 24 hours in advance, so if you’ve got a last-minute cancellation, you’ll have to pay for the fee.

Makasi for Hair and Beauty is not just a hair salon. Other than hair services, they also offer beauty services like waxing, threading, and eyebrow tinting.

They’re a great pick if you’re thinking of getting beauty treatments along with your haircut or hair colour, which will definitely save you time.

But what we like most about them are their rates, with a basic haircut only starting at $70 and a blow-dry at $45! And don’t worry. Despite their rates, they offer great quality service and their hairstylists are friendly.

Their price range and level of expertise do attract a lot of customers, which means they tend to be busy. Unfortunately, this has led to some customers complaining about their appointments being rushed.

Their staff is highly accommodating and can sometimes squeeze you in despite not having an appointment, but we wouldn’t recommend this, as the hairstylists may already be too busy to attend to you properly.

Generally, most of their clients have been satisfied with the service they received and were happy with the end result. However, one customer complained about how their colour treatment left their hair damaged.

Unfortunately, this is a possibility if you’re aiming to go multiple shades lighter, as it may require bleaching. But we were pleased with how Makasi responded to this by taking full accountability and giving the customer adequate hair treatments.

Los Pastel positions itself as a specialist in blonde and long hair colouring.

This focus allows them to hone their expertise and cater specifically to clients seeking these services, potentially ensuring a high level of proficiency in their craft.

The salon is a vibrant and welcoming space, presenting a non-hair-salon vibe. We like how this creates a more relaxed and inviting atmosphere for clients, contributing to an enjoyable salon experience.

We like that they promote a space for real conversations in a fuss-free environment. This commitment to genuine interactions enhances the overall salon experience, making clients feel more comfortable and engaged during their appointments.

The salon’s specialty in creating dimensional, effortless blondes suggests a dedication to achieving natural and lived-in looks. Clients seeking a more subtle and organic hair color transformation may find Los Pastel’s approach appealing.
