As one of the most loved galleries in Perth, Gallery 360 is among our picks if you love modern art.
We like how accessible this gallery is. It’s a central hub for artists and art galleries all around Perth – from Claremont to Joondalup and beyond.
They seem to have a fine collection of original paintings, art prints, and wall designs. We appreciate that their staff can assist the art enthusiasts throughout the visit.
After all, their gallery is composed of three micro art galleries. Guests may need some help though in navigating through them.
Their original pieces are also sold at varying price points. We suggest browsing some of their art online beforehand, so you can pick from their original art ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.
Moreover, this gallery has a bunch of mirror styles suitable to fit in with any decor, from traditional to ultra-modern. This looks ideal for decorating your home or choosing art for a big office space, in our opinion.
But beyond that, it’s convenient that they offer various other services. Their team provides art consultations, as well as mounting and framing services.
Just remember though, that Gallery 360’s art framing may take 5 to 7 days.
Still, priority services are available at an extra charge. Note that they don’t deliver on the weekends too, so it’s best to adjust your expectations accordingly.
Pros
- Showcases 3 micro art galleries
- Offers original paintings, designs, and mirrors
- Provides several art services
- Can assist through art consultations
Cons
- Art framing may take a week

The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) is among the most visited art galleries in Perth, with 3 floors of exhibition space.
Located in the heart of Perth’s Cultural Centre, we believe art lovers may delight in their eclectic range of local and internal designs.
Not only that, but we love that visitors may also drop by for a coffee in their cafe. For us, this is a simple yet delightful activity after a day of art exploration.
We appreciate that their gallery is free to visit as well. Still, they do ask visitors to make a voluntary donation upon entry.
They also keep things fresh with new exhibitions, programs, and events from time to time. This shows that every customer purchase contributes to exciting things to see, in our opinion.
However, several art visitors we talked to were disappointed with some of the displays.
To be fair, we think it’s challenging to please everyone when some prefer one type of art over the other. For example, some want to see more aboriginal art, while some like to view Western art more.
Overall, the Art Gallery of Western Australia is accessible to many as they’re open daily (except Tuesdays) from 10 am to 5 pm. They’re also closed during Good Friday and Christmas.
Pros
- Has exhibition spaces on 3 levels
- Offers a cafe space
- Doesn’t charge for entry
- Available for visitors 6 days a week
Cons
- Limited art display
- Closed on Tuesdays

WA Museum Boola Bardip is an art gallery in Perth showcasing pieces filled with Australia’s many stories. We appreciate that this involves the locals and their significant roles in the world.
We’re in awe that this gallery comprises 6 public sites too. Also, their collection and research centre houses more than 8 million objects, from rare fossils to the iconic racing yacht Australia II.
In our opinion, this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy more items reflecting the country’s diverse natural and cultural heritage.
This gallery’s General Admission fee is also free for juniors 15 years old and under and carers with valid Western Australian (WA) Companion cards. However, they require payment for other standard guests and concessions (students, seniors, and health care card holders).
Still, we like that there’s a way to get 12 months of unlimited entry. For this, consider if you want to become a WA museum member for the price of a single admission.
WA Museum Boola Bardip is accessible in Fremantle (2 museums), Albany, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and Geraldton. We find this convenient for various Perth residents since they won’t have to drive farther to visit.
Just note that the museum doesn’t have its own parking. Yet, it’s close to many public car park spaces you may go to instead.
Pros
- Guests may visit any of their 6 public sites
- Presents millions of historical items
- Free entry for juniors and carers
- Members may get 1-year unlimited entry
Cons
- Requires a fee for standard visitors and concessions

For those fascinated with contemporary art, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) may be the art gallery in Perth that fits your taste.
We believe that art should be spontaneous and exciting. This is why for us, this gallery has some of the most interesting takes on how art enthusiasts can see art.
It’s impressive that their exhibitions are beyond a visual experience. Visitors may use their other senses to explore the pieces.
However, not all experiences here are free. Some cost from $10 to $50, depending on the type of event or performance.
Some guests we spoke with also shared there weren’t that many exhibits when they visited.
Still, the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts offers free entry from Tuesdays to Sundays, so it’s best to maximise the opportunity if you wish.
In addition, we recommend getting your morning coffee, lunch, or evening drinks in the relaxed atmosphere of the cultural centre (nestled in the corner as PICA Bar & Cafe).
If you’re coming from Perth Train Station and Busport, we feel this would be an easy walk. It might take around 5 minutes to get to the gallery.
Parking at the CPP State Library (entry via Francis Street) or the CPP Cultural Centre (entry via Roe Street) Carparks is also advisable. The gallery has no parking space, and these are the closest options.
Pros
- Shows different takes on modern art
- Has free entry and art exhibits
- Available bar and cafe
- A 5-minute walk from Perth Train Station
Cons
- Limited number of exhibitions
- Not all experiences are free of charge

The Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery in Perth at The University of Western Australia may also be worth exploring. They’re among the top galleries acquiring artworks for a long time, which is over 90 years!
In our opinion, they have some of the best exhibitions in Perth. For example, some of their collections showcase women’s art, narrative realism of the ‘80s, significant indigenous pieces, and the like.
There’s also something about art galleries being inside a university setting. We love how art enthusiasts would be surrounded by an educational environment, which may add to the serene ambience or overall art appreciation.
But however thought-provoking their art collection is, they’re still a tiny gallery. We noticed a limited number of works to appreciate, so you may be in for a short visit.
To compensate, a bookshop and lounge area are available for visitors to enjoy. Walking in the sunken garden could also be lovely for a rewarding meditation afterwards.
On top of that, we appreciate that they take surveys to monitor the guests’ experience. This takes around only 2 to 3 minutes as well.
But though Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery is available for visitors on Tuesdays to Saturdays, they’re only open in the afternoon.
Parking may also be difficult, but we believe the public transport to and from the gallery is easily accessible.
Pros
- Provides several meaningful artworks
- Located in a university with peaceful greenery
- There’s a bookshop and lounge area
- Easy commute via public transport
Cons
- Parking may not be easy
- Tiny space with few works
