Best Wine Tasting Deals Around Perth – Winery Locations & Prices
Western Australia may be best known for its natural landscapes, but its wines can’t also be ignored. Around 12% of them are exported globally, with some flying to the busy streets of Shanghai and some to the bars of London (Wine Industry Association of WA).
If you’re curious why the world is getting tipsy with these wines, you need to prepare for a whole wine-tasting adventure because one glass isn’t enough to truly appreciate their beauty.
It may seem daunting to try them all (there are 9 wine regions to explore, after all), but don’t worry, we’ve done the hard work for you! We joined countless tours and compiled a list of the best wine-tasting experiences around Perth.
Lancaster Wines
Location: 5228 W Swan Rd, West Swan
Distance from Perth CBD: 25 minutes away
Website: http://www.lancasterwines.com.au/
Contact details: (08) 9250 6461, [email protected]
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Wines are often associated with elegance, so we didn’t really expect to have a wine-tasting experience in a humble shed when we visited Lancaster Wines.
No complaints from us, though, as the laid-back atmosphere made the experience more charming.
The winery’s wine-tasting package offers a wide range of wines, including reds, whites, and their ever-so-famous Shiraz (there’s a reason it’s famous, trust us!). Rachel did an amazing job explaining the wines, so it was easier to pick which ones to taste and buy.
We were also served a grazing platter with a couple of gourmet products. The cheeses, especially the heavenly chilli cheese, were other highlights that deserve another article just for them.
Pro Tip: They offer oysters every weekend! If you’re a huge fan of them, make sure to make an early booking for a weekend date!

Friday and Saturday: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Established in 1840, Sandalford Winery is one of the wineries that we always hear of when we ask about West Australian wines. That’s why it was on top of our list when we decided to go winery hopping to make this list.
The winery hosts different door tours for visitors, but we went with the standard cellar door tour and tried 5 wines of our choice. Although all were lovely, the reds from the Prendiville Reserve were the ones that really left a lasting impression.
We also tried the winery’s restaurant just to see if their meals would live up to the quality of the wines. The lamb rump we had was absolutely lovely, tender and rich in flavour, so give it a try if you’re not sure what to order.
The next time we go, we’re planning on trying the wine blending tour to make our own blend of wine. If you’re planning a party or team building, this might be the best tour for you!
Pro Tip: If you dine at the restaurant, make sure to keep your receipt! If you present it to the staff, you can get a 10% discount on your wine purchases at the cellar door.
Tyler’s Vineyard
Location: 301 Padbury Ave, Millendon
Distance from Perth CBD: 30 minutes away
Website: http://www.tylersvineyard.com.au/
Contact details: 0438 296 000, [email protected]
Operating hours:
Monday: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Tuesday and Wednesday: Closed
Thursday and Friday: 11 AM:00 to 4:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
With wines made from over a hundred-year-old Grenache vines, Tyler’s Vineyard is hard to ignore when discussing the region’s best wines. Despite being smaller and less flashy, its wines are comparable to those of the bigger wineries in the region.
We were served wines in a shed in the middle of its picturesque vineyard, which made the entire experience more relaxing than we expected. They offer a wide range of wines, but the red wines were the ones that had us purchasing more!
Pro Tip: If you purchase from them, make sure to also avail of their free label-making service for your bottle! They can use any of the photos you have on your phone or take one for you and have it printed with your chosen text.
Ugly Duckling Wines
Location: 7790 W Swan Rd, West Swan
Distance from Perth CBD: 27 minutes away

Operating hours:
Monday to Friday: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Public Holidays: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Don’t get fooled by its name. There’s nothing ugly about Ugly Duckling Wines! From its rustic cottage to its vineyard and cellar door, everything about this winery is nothing short of stunning!
The winery offers three different tasting options: the standard tasting tour, which includes 6 types of wines; the premium tasting tour, which includes 6 types of wines and gourmet cheeses, bread, and crackers; and self-tastings that can be customised.
Their reserve Shiraz and white wines were definitely the standout among the wines we tried. Paired with Ugly Duckling’s gourmet pies, the wine-tasting experience we had here is definitely one worth coming back for.
Pro Tip: If you want a more peaceful wine-tasting experience, avoid visiting between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM on weekends. Group tours usually come around these times, so the winery can be pretty busy.

As the winner of the 2022 and 2021 Best Small Cellar Door Awards from the Gourmet Traveller, Upper Reach Winery & Restaurant earns a well-deserved spot on this list. Its cellar doors are open every day for everyone looking for a fun wine-tasting experience.
The staff that toured us around the working winery and vineyard gave lots of explanations about the whole winemaking process. We tried four different bottles during the tour, which were all equally rich and great.
The tour can come with lunch at the restaurant, but we opted to dine at the TreeHouse Pizza Bar. It was built around this massive tree and gives us a panoramic view of the vineyard, making the buffalo mozzarella pizza we had so much more delicious.
Pro Tip: If you want to enjoy lunch and a winery tour, Upper Reach offers a package that includes both. It already includes a two-course lunch and a reserved spot in the restaurant.
Olive Farm Wines
Location: 920 Great Northern Hwy, Millendon
Distance from Perth CBD: 30 minutes away
Website: http://www.olivefarmwines.com.au/
Contact details: (08) 9296 4539
Operating hours: Monday to Friday: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Public Holidays: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Olive Farm Wines has more than 90 years of experience in producing incredible wines. It’s been passed down by four generations and only keeps improving every time a new winemaker from the Yurisich takes over!
Its Frank the Tank tasting experience is one of the most extensive wine-tasting experiences we’ve had around the city. We tried 8 wines from a selection of 32, so we had plenty of chances to get to know Olive Farm’s wines.
They also offer a guided tour of its vineyard and production area, but we didn’t join this anymore and opted to go straight to the cellar door. We tried the Stari, a fortified wine whose rich taste definitely lives up to its reputation as the winery’s flagship wine.
Pro Tip: Try reading the winemaker’s tasting notes on Olive Farm’s website before going. Although they will explain the wines to you, the notes are more detailed and would make choosing which wines to focus on during the tasting easier.
Faber Vineyard
Location: 233 Haddrill Rd, Baskerville
Distance from Perth CBD: 32 minutes away
Website: http://www.fabervineyard.com.au/
Contact details: 0480 465 755, [email protected]
Operating hours: Friday to Sunday: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
For those who love Verdelho, Shiraz and brown muscat wines, there’s no better place to go around Perth than Faber Vineyard. This Swan Valley winery opens its cellar door from Friday to Sunday and offers its latest wine releases for tasting.
Since tasting typically only lasts for 45 minutes and we had quite some time, we went with the winery’s package deal. It included a guided winery tour, a wine-tasting session, and a lunch platter.
The wines aren’t as sweet as we had expected, but they have this charming taste that’s pretty unique (and addicting, I may say) from all the other wineries we’ve been to. And the best part is they didn’t have that bitter aftertaste we hate from other wines!
Pro Tip: The vineyard regularly hosts events that can make your visit more interesting, so be sure to monitor their website! The wine-tasting events typically follow a specific theme, like harvest seafood lunch or Easter vineyard platters.
Harris Organic Wines & Spirits

Thursday to Sunday: 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Located just 30 minutes north of the CBD, Harris Organic Wines & Spirits is the perfect weekend getaway destination, especially for health-conscious individuals. It doesn’t use pesticides and fertilisers on its vineyard, making it the only organic winery in Perth!
The winery offers various wine-tasting experiences, from seated tasting to a winery tour with wine-tasting experience. They also offer a spirit-tasting experience for those who are more interested in brandy, vodka, and gins.
We had a seated tasting and tried four wines from the 8 they showed us, which were amazing, especially the Shiraz. The quantities we tasted were pretty small, so we did end up finding ourselves buying two bottles to take home.
Pro Tip: Seated wine tasting costs $20 per person, but Harris Organic Wines & Spirits will refund it if you purchase six or more bottles per couple. The spirit tasting is also refundable if you buy at least one bottle.
Riverbank Estate
Location: 126 Hamersley Rd, Caversham
Distance from Perth CBD: 22 minutes away
Website: https://www.riverbankestate.com.au/
Contact details: (08) 9377 1805
Operating hours: Wednesday to Sunday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
When you taste Riverbank Estate’s wines, you’ll easily understand why it was named a 5-star winery by the Halliday Wine Companion. With wines spanning from classic red to unique blends, the winery is sure to give any wine connoisseur a fun time!
The winery offers various types of wine-tasting experiences, from casual to private ones. We were accompanied by a staff member who recommended which wines to choose based on our preference and explained each to help us understand them better.
After the wine-tasting experience, we had a lovely lunch at the winery’s own restaurant, which gave us lots of time to just soak in the stunning views of the vineyard. The seafood platter was the best way to end the experience, so do give it a try!
Pro Tip: Don’t forget to drop by the winery’s shop before going home! You might love their wine-related accessories and come home with more than just a bottle of wine.
