best-tutoring-perth

The best tutoring centres in Perth can boost your grades and passing rate!

Experience: This review is limited to highly rated centres with at least 3 years of experience tutoring one or more grade levels. To confirm, we checked company profiles and portfolios.

Credentials: Only those with qualified tutors or educators made the cut, with certifications, licenses, degrees, awards, research, and evidence of continuous training or professional development as our criteria.

Communication Skills: The tutors’ ability to build rapport with students and parents was graded via feedback, interviews, forums, personal experience, and trial lessons.

We also used this criterion to rate the comms department of every centre, looking into their response speed, transparency, client care, and politeness.

Flexibility: How well the tutors adjust their methods to a specific student (or set of students) was graded through interviews, case studies, experience, and feedback.

Centres with adaptable programs, lesson formats, or timetables were favoured as well, confirmed through service listings.

Pricing: To determine overall value, we reviewed and compared session rates, accounting for the other criteria, proximity to Perth’s ranges, and availability of discounts or package deals.

Coming home with tears over a low score hits hard. I felt that firsthand as a student and then secondhand as a parent.

When my daughter voiced concerns about her English and Maths performance, I took action right away and looked for an elite centre with qualified tutors. We found the right one, and within a couple of weeks, her scores and attitude toward both subjects improved!

If you’re aiming for the same progress or gearing up for high-stakes exams like GATE and ATAR (which can help land you in these colleges), the spots below can give your scores, brain, and study habits a lift.

For Year 9–12 ATAR Maths, Physics, Science, and Chemistry, Peak is among Perth’s best options.

They follow a structured model that revises previous content to avoid short-term cramming. Lessons are often grounded in understanding theories and practising exam-style questions.

It’s a proper time hog, mind. A single term can go for two-plus months, with each class scheduled for 1.5 hours.

Queues can happen as well. The centre has a strong rep, especially with Year 11 and 12 students.

What’s great is that they still keep classes small. Fourteen is the maximum student-count per room, though 6–8 is the average.

If that seems disruptive, go for one-on-one sessions. You’ll still get a degree-qualified educator who knows the WACE curriculum inside out.

As for pricing, we’d say the rates make sense, considering each term’s length and the package’s inclusions, namely the theory books and practice exams.

Pros

  • Open since 2016
  • Small class size
  • Specialises in 9–12 ATAR subjects
  • Offers free trials and discounts

Cons

  • Time-consuming
  • Incredibly high demand = limited slots

We are incredibly grateful for their professionalism

Peak Education has been absolutely outstanding in supporting my son, Isaac, throughout his senior high school years. Their tutors are not only highly knowledgeable, but genuinely invested in their students’ success. The role they played in helping Isaac achieve an exceptional 99+ ATAR cannot be overstated. We are incredibly grateful for their professionalism, dedication, and the positive impact they’ve had on his academic journey. I would wholeheartedly recommend Peak Education to any family seeking high-quality, results-driven support.

Extremely Helpful

Peak Education has been a really great tutoring service for me. Their ATAR courses are extremely helpful, and the tutors are both knowledgeable and approachable, making it very easy to learn from them. I especially like the structure of their lessons, including the combination of theory booklets and work booklets which really helped me understand and consolidate key concepts.

Another thing which was really helpful was how they taught the content before I learned it at school. This gave me a head start and made the topics much easier to follow when they were later covered in class.

Tristan was also incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. He was very informative about the ATAR system and always available to answer any questions or concerns I had. Overall, Peak Education has been a huge help in my learning journey, and I would highly recommend it to any student aiming to improve their understanding and performance

Everest Tutoring’s academic coverage is wider than most. They help Year 4–12 students succeed in UCAT, ATAR, GATE, CASPer, and school-based projects.

And they do it well, thanks in large part to tutors who scored 99+ in ATAR. Lots of students even praise them for teaching exam strats and techniques.

In terms of classes, they’re capped at 4–7 students to ensure learners receive individual attention.

Service outside the centre is also notable. A 24/7 support program through Discord and Insta is available for those stuck, lesson- or question-wise.

The catch is longevity. Everest opened in 2022, making it this review’s “least seasoned” option.

Some might also find their 1-hour meetings a touch shorter (though you can attend holiday masterclasses for extra learning).

But if we’re talking resources, they’re golden. Students always get worksheets with exam-style questions and detailed notes.

Pros

  • Wide academic coverage
  • Tutors with 99+ scores in ATAR
  • Limits classrooms to 4–7 students
  • 24/7 availability through Insta and Discord

Cons

  • Relatively new
  • Shorter classes

Very Convenient

Very happy with Everest Tutoring. Locations and available days/ times are very convenient. I saw a significant improvement in my child’s maths grades within a few months of Tutoring

Have Made a Real Difference

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the team at Everest Tutors for the outstanding support and guidance they have provided my daughter. The tutors are not only highly knowledgeable in their subjects, but also incredibly patient, encouraging, and genuinely committed to helping students succeed.

Since starting at Everest, my daughter’s confidence and understanding have grown significantly. The tailored approach and personal attention she receives have made a real difference in her academic progress. It’s clear that the tutors truly care about each student’s journey.

I highly recommend Everest to any parent seeking professional, supportive, and effective tutoring for their child.

Loyola Tutoring is a prime spot for GATE prep. Writing, Reading, Quantitative Reasoning, and other GATE subjects are tackled here intensively.

Most times, they’re delivered through classes, review sessions, mock exams, and practice questions (about 2,000 of them). You can attend either online or in-person.

Is it effective, though? In 2025, 42 of their students scored above 250 in GATE, with two even going beyond 300!

Not that it’s surprising; only tutors who aced the exam teach here, and they even underwent a three-month training program centred on the Loyola Way. It’s a teaching style designed around step-by-step and engaging instruction.

If there’s a drawback, it’s demand. Loyola is one of Perth’s most coveted tutoring centres.

They also run classes slightly bigger than most. Sure, 10–12 students per session counts as a small group, but some go lower than that.

Pros

  • Specialises in GATE prep
  • Open since 2018
  • Offers online options
  • 2,000-question bank

Cons

  • Incredibly high demand = limited slots
  • Slightly larger class size

I absolutely love and recommend this place

Being a student, this was really great. My tutor not only taught us but also let us have fun. The GATE preparation papers looked like Greek to me before I attended, and after the first class, I felt like Einstein. I absolutely love and recommend this place to others

Encouraging and Well-Organised

My daughter has been attending GATE tutoring at Loyola for some time now, and I am incredibly pleased with the progress she has made. The tutors are knowledgeable, supportive, and truly understand the unique needs of students. The structured approach, challenging content, and regular feedback have helped build both her confidence and academic ability.

The environment at Loyola is encouraging and well-organised, making it a great space for focused, effective learning. I highly recommend Loyola to any parent looking to support their child’s success in the GATE program.

Year 11–12 students looking to pass ATAR should give Elite Tutoring a shot.

Daksh Parashar, the centre’s tutor, has over 10 years of experience in teaching ATAR Chemistry, Physics, Methods, and Applications (plus he’s a chemical engineer!).

Above all, many of his students claim jumps in grades, primarily citing Daksh’s engaging style and ability to break down complex concepts as the reasons why.

Flexibility is another perk he provides. Online, in-person, group, and private classes are available, and there’s an online portal for all the exam-style resources.

Manpower could be an issue, though. Daksh is Elite’s sole tutor, a major contrast to the larger chains with bigger teams.

Another limitation is the ATAR-only coverage. We featured options that handle lower-year students and other exams.

The good news is you don’t have to pay for test lessons or consults, and most students we chatted with continued after the trial.

Pros

  • Operating for over 10 years
  • Specialises in ATAR prep
  • Free trial and consults
  • Flexible formats

Cons

  • One-man centre
  • ATAR-only coverage

Highly Knowledgeable

I’ve had an excellent experience being tutored in Math applications and Chemistry by Daksh. He is highly knowledgeable and has a deep understanding of both subjects. Daksh takes the time to ensure every concept is fully understood and his explanations are clear and engaging. The overall atmosphere is welcoming and encouraging, which makes studying much more enjoyable and productive.

Easy to Communicate With

Seriously good tutor — Daksh really knows how to explain Year 12 Methods and Physics in a way that makes sense. It’s clear he puts in effort to prepare exam-style examples that match what I’m learning at school. Xperiences with him have been consistently positive, and I always leave the lesson understanding more. Scheduling with Daksh is flexible and he’s easy to communicate with, working with whats best for my schedule. Every session feels productive, not just a repeat of schoolwork. Very helpful in breaking down difficult questions step by step, with clear and worked solutions. Engages well and keeps me focused, even on the harder topics where i would usually give up. Never makes me feel rushed, I always actually get the topic before moving on. Would definitely recommend for anyone doing atar, affordable and great for rural students too.

Open since 1993, Ace Tutoring is a reliable choice if you want a tried-and-true centre that sticks to the WA curriculum.

Learners who flourish in smaller classes will also find them hard to top. Sessions here max out at 6 students only, the tightest cap in this review.

We also gave them bonus marks for being broader and more flexible than most. See, Year 1–12 subjects are covered, and students/parents have four main formats to choose from: in-person, online, home-based, and workshops.

Unfortunately, initial assessments come at a cost, unlike most centres that don’t charge a dime for consults or trial classes.

Some parents took issue with the tutor changes as well, saying it hurt their children’s performance.

But to be fair, Ace’s methods often work, particularly for ATAR preppers. Those we spoke with, for instance, reported grade increases of 44%–68% and even 46%–70%.

Pros

  • Open since 1993
  • Covers Year 1–12 subjects
  • Flexible formats
  • Classes are limited to 6 students

Cons

  • Initial assessments aren’t free
  • Occasional disruptive tutor changes

Dedicated and Effective Tutors

We had a fantastic experience with Ace tutoring. Both tutors were patient, knowledgeable and genuinely invested in helping students understand the material rather than memorising it. Their explanations are clear and easy to follow. They always take their time to make sure that everything makes sense before moving on. The best part for us was the supportive approach through encouragement, organisation and creating an environment that felt comfortable and motivating. We have seen real improvement in our daughter as she is going through her Atar exams at the moment. So, yes, highly recommend to anyone looking for dedicated and effective tutors!
