If you want to have a rush of adrenaline or just want to see something exciting, watching motorsports may be a pleasant pastime.
The Perth Motorplex opened more than 2 decades ago in 2000. It was the first place in Australia to have both drag racing and speedway on the same property.
The complex includes a quarter-mile drag strip and an oval racing track. There are several automotive-related activities in this area.
Here are some of the sports they offer:
- Drag Racing
- Super Speedway
- Burnout Competitions
- Street Machine Car Shows
- Monster Trucks
All of the places where people can watch the race offer great views, but the most popular are pit paddock access and Silver and Gold reserved seating tickets.
This site also has a wide range of places to eat, so there’s something for everyone. Also, the area surrounding the venue has bars with licences that sell mid-strength alcohol.
If you regularly go to bars and pubs in Perth, then you might just love to bring beer or other drinks anywhere. However, keep in mind that it’s against the law to bring alcohol into sporting venues in Western Australia.
We recommend checking any of these out for at least 2 to 3 hours to fully maximise your experience.
For your reference, Street Drag Racing is held every Wednesday night from September to May, and major events such as Drag Racing and Speedway are held from October to April.
This site is also conveniently situated in Perth’s southern suburbs – a short 30-minute drive from the city centre. Clients may also select between convenience parking and free general parking, which has great access off Anketell Rd.

At the Kwinana Adventure Park, you can stay cool while playing with the interactive spouts, showers, sprays, and jets that move water in different ways. This is all while being watched over by some amusing pelicans.
Kids will likely spend hours climbing and crawling through the huge tree maze, cooling off in the splash pad, or letting their imaginations run wild.
We suggest trying out these musical and sensory activities in the park that would help kids develop their imaginations and motor skills.
Some of Kwinana Adventure Park’s best features include:
- Splash Pad -You can stay cool with interactive spouts, showers, sprays, and jets.
- Sand Play – Conveyor belts, buckets, diggers, and pulleys are scattered throughout the sand play area.
- Junior Area – This section is ideal for younger travellers because it has a cup spinner, a dry creek, junior swings, a musical play area, and a cubby and nest.
- Action Play – There’s a climbing net construction, two flying foxes, and enormous nest swings.
You can also conveniently park right in front of the main entrance gate on Walgreen Crescent. At this location, there’s also on-street parking accessible close to Calista Oval’s western boundary.

Upon entry, visitors would be welcomed by a foyer with a glass dome ceiling, vistas of the sports stadium and swimming pools, and splashes of vibrant bulletin boards showcasing the club’s programmes.
Though they don’t have the typical yoga or Pilates classes here, you may choose another sport, fitness activity, or swimming session to enjoy your stay.
We also recommend these options for the family: lap pool, hydrotherapy pool, leisure pool, spa room, or steam room.
The Kwinana Recquatic is also open 7 days a week. You can conveniently shop for essentials as it’s next to a major local shopping centre, as well as some service outlets.
Just keep in mind that they have varying schedules on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The pool hall also closes at 8 pm.
Take a Dip at the Kwinana Beach
Kwinana Beach has a charming and strange quality. In a world of heavy industry, it’s a haven of tranquillity.
For context, Perth’s heavy industrial zone was built on a stunning length of coastline in 1951.
Over time, the Kwinana Beach neighbourhood has undergone redevelopment. What was previously a sizable car park is now a grassy space with benches, tables, shelters, BBQs, and restrooms.
There are great picnic and grilling places, lots of open space, and well-kept lawn areas. This seems like a great place to celebrate milestones or simply unwind.
But the area’s wonderful Wells Park, which borders Kwinana Beach, is its main attraction. This white sand beach is good for swimming and fishing despite being bordered by industry.
Although dogs aren’t allowed on beaches that are part of the city of Kwinana, there are still a number of dog beaches we suggest where locals can walk their furry friends without a leash.
And there you go! We hope you find the best things to do in Kwinana, Perth. There’s so much to explore, so take all the time you need!
