Finnigan Piano Tuner is my first choice when it comes to piano tuning and restoration services. Jared Finnigan is worth commending for his professional attitude and punctuality.

I hired him back in early 2023 to help out my sister-in-law, who inherited her mother’s Yamaha U1.

His work was impressive. After a tuning session that took a bit more than an hour, the piano sounded great.

Jared’s assistance didn’t stop there. He knew very well that my sister-in-law’s piano is an antique, so he offered her a solution on how to preserve it.

He calls this service the Piano Life Saver, a humidity control system that ensures the humidity levels inside the piano remain at optimal levels. It’s a bit expensive, but we ultimately decided to buy it because the piano is an important heirloom.

Jared also told us that he has a satisfaction guarantee on all of his services. If we felt that his tuning was still off, we only needed to give him a call.

Overall, I believe that Jared is one of the best piano tuners you can rely on in Perth.

However, it’s a bit disappointing that he isn’t available on Sundays. It may also take him an entire day to reply to messages sent on his Facebook page.

          • Authorised piano technician for Yamaha and Steinway
          • Fast and easy online booking system
          • Friendly and professional service

          Cons

          • Unavailable on weekends
          • Slightly above-average prices

Artisan Music is a recording studio that also offers piano tuning services in Perth. Their tuner, Patrick Carre, is an authorised piano technician by the biggest piano makers, Yamaha and Steinway.

He’s also a member of the Australasian Piano Tuners & Technicians Association and has 25 years of experience.

Many told me that Patrick is a friendly and professional tuner. He arrives on time, and makes sure that his customers’ pianos are tuned to sound almost as if they’re brand new.

He also leaves useful tips on how to preserve and maintain a piano.

Another thing customers love about Artisan Music is its fast and easy online booking system.

It only needs you to provide a few important details, like your name, address, and piano model. You can fill it out within a minute.

If there are some things that you can consider a downside to Artisan Music, it’s their prices. Their piano tuning service is priced slightly higher compared to most piano tuners in Perth.

You might also find it difficult to schedule an appointment with them because they are unavailable on weekends.

          Pros

          • 45 years of experience
          • Offers unique piano accessories like the Genio piano silencer system
          • Authorised piano technician for Yamaha
          • Excellent customer service

          Cons

          • Limited business hours
          • Above-average prices

Gary Bailey’s Piano Magic is one of the oldest sellers and tuners of pianos in Perth. The founder, Gary, has more than 45 years of experience in the industry.

Aside from experience, a big reason why you can trust him to do an excellent job tuning your piano is his accreditation. He’s an authorised piano technician for Yamaha and is highly knowledgeable about their pianos.

What really makes him special, though, are his unique piano accessories. His Genio piano silencer system allows you to play a traditional piano through a set of headphones without generating any external sounds.

This is helpful for those who want to learn the piano for hours without disturbing other people around the house.

Furthermore, many customers praise his excellent customer service during piano tuning. They appreciate his thoroughness and professionalism.

However, I should inform you that Gary charges a high rate for his services. His tuning service will cost you $300.

Another disadvantage of Gary Bailey’s Piano Magic is its limited business hours. Its services are available only until three in the afternoon, which is too soon for some people.

          Pros

          • Affordable prices
          • Seven years of experience
          • Punctual and professional tuner
          • Communicates well with clients

          Cons

          • Has no available business hours
          • Websites lacks a reservation system

Arpeggio Piano Tuning is a great option for people looking to tune their pianos on a budget. Its piano tuning service will only cost you $210, which is among the cheapest ones you’ll find in Perth.

The owner, Caglar, is a well-experienced piano tuner with seven years of experience. He can also repair, restore, and polish your piano to look brand new.

Most customers I talked to praised not only his affordable rates but also his punctuality and professional attitude. One told me that Caglar was able to tune their piano back to its original condition despite it being out of tune for 20 years.

There were also some people who appreciated the way he communicated with his clients. Caglar explains in detail what he needs to do to properly tune a piano and how long it’ll take him to do it.

However, one disadvantage of this shop is its lack of a proper reservation system on its website. You’ll have to rely purely on calls or emails to schedule an appointment with Caglar.

It’s also a bit disappointing that Arpeggio Piano Tuning has no clear business hours. This can be frustrating for some people who want to make sure in advance that they’re available at the time when Caglar can tune their piano.

          Pros

          • Apprenticed under a master piano technician
          • Can work on antique pianos
          • More than seven years of experience
          • Long business hours

          Cons

          • Charges a $100 callout fee
          • Websites lacks a reservation system

Piano Tuner Perth is owned by Dave Kaye, an expert piano technician with more than seven years of experience in the industry.

He had an apprenticeship under a master piano technician from Italy, Giovanni Pasini. He learned some unique techniques, including the use of traditional aural techniques for tuning.

I heard about Dave through a friend of mine whose family owns a hundred-year-old Ronisch upright piano. He told me it was an awesome experience to work with Dave and the tuner was able to restore and tune that piano back to working condition.

I strongly suggest you try out Piano Tuner Perth if your family has an antique piano in their possession.

Dave’s seven years of experience and apprenticeship are what allow him to be so good at restoring and tuning antique pianos. Many clients also praised his professionalism and meticulousness.

Another thing I love about Piano Tuner Perth is its long business hours. People who have busy schedules can rely on this company for their piano tuning needs because it’s available until nine in the evening.

However, I should warn you that Dave charges a $100 call-out fee for his services. It can also be a bit hard to schedule an appointment with him because his website doesn’t have a proper reservation system.

I urge you to send him an email or give him a call instead if you want to hire him.
