The best photography studios in Perth bring out the best in their subjects!

Layout and Size: We picked studios with ample space for different shoots, assessed through in-person visits. Floor plans were also considered, and those that are around 46.5–185.8 square metres cracked a spot. Lighting and Equipment: Through enquiries and reviews, we narrowed our options to the most well-equipped, specifically those with professional-grade gear. Think A-tier backdrops, Godox strobes, Canon EOS R, etc. Amenities: Studios with perks like quality changing or makeup rooms were prioritised, especially if the use of such spaces doesn’t incur extra fees. We decided based on personal experience, visits, virtual tours, and testimonials. Communication: Those who responded promptly and clearly got top marks. We also gauged how friendly and upfront their reps were, particularly during the booking and post-shooting stages. Cost Efficiency: The price clients paid and the satisfaction they enjoyed were weighed. Prices between competitors were compared as well, and we gave extra props to studios that offer discounts and/or flexible packages.

I’ll give myself credit—I can frame a mean selfie or slap a filter that makes my pup cuter. But anything beyond that, say, lighting setups, backdrops, and professional-level skill? That’s out of my league.

Lucky for us, Perth locals, the city has quality photography studios that already have the goods: professional shooters, A-tier props or equipment, and spaces for almost any shoot.

We looked for the best ones in terms of quality, cost efficiency, and service. You’re just a scroll away from them!

Perth Photography was among the frontrunners during our brainstorming phase—rightfully so. It’s one of the most cost-efficient studios in Perth.

Deals are better for large-scale businesses, though. They tailor packages for big organisations, and the passionate folks there often keep the price talks transparent.

They also back their work with a satisfaction guarantee. That means they’ll tweak or retouch images until you’re 100% satisfied. No extra costs for requests.

As for the studio, it fits our target dimensions. It’s also clean, well-lit, and spacious enough to house a beautiful powder room right next to the main set.

That said, they specialise in commercial shoots, especially portraits. If you’re after a more artistically inclined project, there are better alternatives.

And fair warning: it gets busy. With big-name clients like Coca-Cola and Toyota, you might run out of slots despite the 24/7 opening.

Pros

  • Open since the mid-2000s
  • Budget-friendly
  • 100% satisfaction feature
  • Open 24/7
  • Great for commercial shoots
  • Has big-time clients like Toyota

Cons

  • Doesn’t specialise in artistic shoots
  • Can get packed

Thanks Dave 🙂 very happy with your service and product!!!’

Even our photographers gave Studio Northbridge a thumbs-up. They especially love how the studio sits inside a purpose-built warehouse with an 80 m² space and 4.5 m-high ceilings.

Better yet, there’s a 5.3 m x 6.1 m cyclorama wall. It’s fantastic for those infinity-style shots, like the ones you typically see in cinematic and artistic snaps or music videos.

The place isn’t devoid of natural light either. You get 180 degrees of daylight streaming in, and if that’s not what you’re after, black and sheer curtains will filter it out.

However, one real knock is that you must pay for the stylist or make-up room. Other studios here offer the amenities for nada.

Plus, if you need to shoot after hours, prepare to shell out $20 more than standard rates. That’s not outrageous but worth noting.

On the bright side, the usual fees are fair for Perth. Ben and Karli are also quite accommodating!

Pros

  • Has natural light that can be filtered
  • 5.3 m x 6.1 m cyclorama wall
  • Great for large shoots or events
  • Decent regular prices

Cons

  • No 24/7 availability
  • Extra after-hours charge

Taking photos of babies can be a proper headache, but Hazel of Yourseason Studio often takes the edge off.

She’s patient and knows how to handle the little ones, my tiny rascals included. The way she chats with them and gets on their level puts the kiddos at ease.

The budget-friendly studio is also pet-friendly and offers pet shoots, too. Cats and dogs are both welcome.

What grabbed me, though, was the minimalist, natural, and cosy style they go for. The shots I received have this lovely soft feel with gentle tones and creamy whites in the background.

If that’s ‘alien talk’ for you, chill. Hazel can direct the entire thing for newbies without being a control freak. In my case, she helped pick the props and poses.

However, the place isn’t as roomy as the other options here. It also gets fully booked pretty fast.

Pros

  • Justified prices
  • Great for shoots with babies or pets
  • Minimalistic style
  • Flexible schedule

Cons

  • Not the biggest studio
  • Gets fully booked fast

Enjoyable Photoshoot

‘A personal and enjoyable photoshoot! Our dog is coming up to 5 years 🥺, and we thought it was time to capture her beauty… and I mean, the pics speak for itself! Highly recommend for a fun memorable photoshoot with loved ones 🥰’

Made Everything So Easy and Fun

‘Hazel is an amazing and talented photographer who is professional and easy to work with. We had a family photoshoot with 2 babies and she was so patient and kind to us, and made everything seem so easy and fun. We are finding it tricky to pick favourites, they were all so great!

we are so thankful that she has given us beautifully photographed memories and couldn’t recommend Hazel highly enough.

We can’t wait to see the final pictures! Thank you for the memories. :)’

I usually ring Parker & Stone Studio when the shoot calls for a massive space. This joint can host up to 100 clients, and the ‘blank canvas’ setup means you can be as creative as you want.

Lugging props or decor isn’t required either. Stylish seating, ladders, decorative plants, and boxes are all available on-site. Clients are even allowed to play with the regular furniture there.

Moreover, Parker & Stone is pet-friendly. Just make sure to clean up to avoid incurring additional costs.

There are plenty of parking spaces too!

For me, though, the finest bit is the price. It’s just $60 for an hour, and that already includes amenities like strobes, cameras, backdrops, and more. You can even BYO gear.

We just wish they’re open on Saturdays and Sundays like most studios here.

It would also be great if the slots didn’t always fill up fast.

Pros

  • Can host 100 people
  • Low price
  • Pet-friendly
  • Many parking spaces
  • Has many props and decor
  • Great for creative shoots

Cons

  • Weekend closure
  • Slots are limited

Affordable and Awesome

‘Awesome studio, loads of space and the natural lighting is awesome! Did a 4 hour studio shoot without needing the studio lights once as the location for natural lighting is perfect. Super cheap too. Books out quickly though, but there’s a good reason for it, it’s affordable and awesome!’

Totally Worth It

‘I recently hired Parker + Stone Studio for my 21st birthday, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better venue! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed – all of the photography equipment had already been removed and the space was so clean, which made setting up super easy. The complimentary bar equipment and glassware were such a great bonus – everything my bar staff needed.

The location is also super central, which was perfect for all my guests! And shoutout to the pre-booked cleaning service – SUCH a lifesaver. The last thing I wanted to do at 1am was clean up, and knowing that was taken care of made the end of the night so much better. Definitely recommend adding this to your event – it’s totally worth it!

Would 100% recommend Parker + Stone Studio for any event. Couldn’t have been happier with my experience!’

Good Life Portraits’ gallery wowed our team. The studio’s emphasis on ‘self-expression’ is indeed reflected in their fine art-style shots.

We’ll also give them extra points for variety. Most of their services are for couples and families, but you can count on them for specialised ones as well, including maternity, bike, boudoir, and pet shoots.

Moreover, the studio’s system isn’t your typical walk-in-and-shoot setup. Good Life’s team sits with clients for 45 minutes, easing nerves and discussing each subject’s goals to plan a truly personalised shoot.

Compared to our other picks, though, this one is an investment. The starting rates are $225 for a 2-hour session—this list’s priciest.

Also, some clients aren’t the biggest fans of their $1,000 voucher deal, as it can’t be applied to all digital copies, forcing customers to pay more for print packages. A clearer and upfront approach to this promotion would certainly help.

Pros

  • Artistic shots
  • Pet-friendly
  • Flexible style
  • Provides a 45-minute interview

Cons

  • Premium prices
  • Confusing voucher deal

Lovely Experience

‘We had the most incredible experience on both our maternity and newborn shoot. We felt so welcomed and Ben made us feel comfortable and relaxed. He was amazing with our daughter and our dog and was so patient. The photos came out so wonderful, it was hard to choose our favourites as they were all perfect. Ebony was lovely helping us make the final decisions and exploring different options with us. I will definitely recommend them to everyone and we will hopefully be back with baby number 2 one day! Thank you for such a lovely experience, we will treasure the photos forever.’

Lucy Brown, Google Review

Patient and Gentle

‘We recently had a newborn photo shoot, and I can’t recommend this studio enough! It was so calming and welcoming—it really set the tone for a relaxed session. Neither of us are big fans of being in front of the camera, but the photographer made the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable. From start to finish, they were so patient and gentle with our little one, and we couldn’t be happier with the final photos. If you’re looking for a great studio who makes the process fun and stress-free, this is the one!’
