Our 5 Best Paper Shredding Companies in Perth When We Need a Secret Gone Fast

  • Shredding equipment - We picked paper shredding companies that use commercial-grade or industrial-grade paper shredders to ensure no documents can be retrieved.
  • Privacy protection - We also chose those that implement strict security measures like sealed containers and GPS trackers to ensure your documents are safe from prying eyes prior to complete destruction.
  • Availability - We evaluated whether they have facilities that are near major roads or can provide mobile shredding services anywhere in Perth. We also assessed whether they are open on most days of the week.
  • Customer service - We selected paper shredding companies that treat customers with respect and respond truthfully to any enquiries. We also checked whether they respond quickly to calls and emails.
  • Price fairness - We also considered whether their prices are fair based on the quality of their paper shredding equipment and security features.

Have you ever watched one of those Mission Impossible films? If you did, I’m sure you noticed that one of their recurring themes is making the mission debriefing tapes self-destruct after Tom Cruise’s character hears their contents.

Now, while you may not be a globe-trotting spy, learning how to properly destroy documents is still important. Your company can potentially lose thousands or even millions of dollars should one of your competitors get a hold of one of your top-secret files.

Thankfully, you won’t need to manually tear papers yourself since these professional paper shredders can help you!

If you don’t want to wait for your papers to get shredded, check out West Shred. Launched in 2012, they provide on-site shredding services to every suburb in the Perth Metropolitan Area.

As a National Association of Information Destruction (NAID)-certified company, they implement security measures that are up to industry standards when handling your documents.

Aside from their simplistic yet secure on-site paper shredding service, I’m also a big fan of their best price guarantee. They will match any cheaper quote given by their competitors and further lower theirs by 10% to sweeten the deal.

However, not everything is fine and dandy with them, as some clients told me that they sometimes cancel appointments abruptly and don’t return their calls.

Pros

  • NAID-certified
  • On-site paper shredding
  • Has a best-price guarantee
  • Serves the entire Perth Metropolitan Area

Cons

  • Sometimes cancels appointments
  • Sometimes fails to respond to messages

Very affordable, quick and clean service

“Very professional, easy and efficient process. One online request for quote, quick phone response from West Shred, then phone booking with next day service to the office door. Very affordable, quick and clean service. I absolutely recommend West Shred.”

For those who take security and confidentiality seriously, there’s Shred-X Secure Destruction. Founded in 1999, this NAID-certified company provides document destruction, data storage decommissioning, and product destruction services.

As I’ve mentioned earlier, they’re all about security. For their paper shredding service, they utilise dual shred technology to ensure nothing remains readable in your documents.

Furthermore, their transport trucks are equipped with GPS trackers and smart locks. All of their drivers are also carefully vetted and screened based on security specifications set by the federal and state governments.

Once the shredding process is finished, they’ll arrange for its disposal to ensure complete destruction. If you’ve marked your papers as non-confidential, they’ll instead recycle them after shredding.

Sadly, having an extremely thorough paper shredding service means their prices don’t come cheap.

Pros

  • NAID-certified
  • State-of-the-art security
  • Recycles non-confidential papers

Cons

  • Above-average prices
  • Unavailable on weekends

Found them to be head and shoulders above their competition

“We used Shred-X for our business and found them to be head and shoulders above their competition.

They replied to our enquiry quickly, booked in our collection in an effective manner and arrived as estimated, to collect our paperwork. Efficient, professional, organised and courteous. Would highly recommend.”

CTI Shredding and Recycling is one of the oldest paper shredding companies you’ll find in Perth. Established in 1974, it’s extremely impressive to know that they provide their services not only in Perth but also in Western Australia’s rural regions, like Kalgoorlie and Albany.

Their shredding facility in Bibra Lake is guarded with CCTV cameras 24/7, and every employee is required to sign a confidentiality clause in their contracts before hiring.

Furthermore, they allow clients to witness the entire shredding process from start to finish to assure them that their documents are disposed of discreetly.

However, I was disappointed when I found out that they still charge a service fee even if they fail to collect a client’s destruction bin for whatever reason.

Pros

  • NAID-certified
  • Allows clients to witness shredding
  • Can serve WA’s rural regions

Cons

  • Has a service charge for failed collections
  • May take days to process large orders

Efficient with no problems

“Efficient with no problems and friendly staff, good value and can’t fault the experience”

-Tim Silbert, Google Reviews

Would definitely use again

“Great service. Paid $55 online for a 240l bin. Took the car down, the bin was brought out to the car, loaded in 5 minutes and we were done. Terrific service. Would definitely use again.”

Docu-Shred is another veteran in Perth’s paper shredding industry. Founded in 1996, they offer lockable wheelie bins that clients can hire for one-off or scheduled shredding services.

Thankfully, their shredding process is designed to meet the standards set by the Privacy Act. Once the documents are verified to be completely destroyed, the shredded paper is then packaged for recycling.

Beyond paper shredding, they can also assist you in destroying other materials like tapes and plastics.

Sadly, while it’s commendable that they can serve most suburbs in Perth, the maximum wheelie bin size they can provide to their customers is 240 litres. If the number of documents you need to shred is greater than that, I strongly suggest you look for other options.

Pros

  • Serves the entire Perth Metropolitan Area
  • Offers one-off and scheduled shredding
  • Recycles everything they shred
  • Can destroy tapes and plastics

Cons

  • Limited to 240-litre wheelie bins
  • Inconsistent business hours

They came through with flying colours

“Docu-Shred is a trusted family-owned operation serving the Perth business community for over 25 years. When my organisation needed secure and reliable document destruction services they came through with flying colours, and always with a friendly smile. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for secure document destruction services who would like to support their local community.”

Brandon’s Shredding Boxes is a paper shredding business that has a heartwarming and inspiring origin. It was founded by Brandon, a young man with autism, with the help of his supportive mother, Simone.

He’s more than capable of running his business. He runs it as a monthly service where he drops empty, secure boxes at his clients’ addresses to store their documents in. Then, he collects them at the end of the month and destroys the documents with his commercial-grade shredders.

Another awesome thing about Brandon is that every piece of shredded paper he collects is used for his cute paper mache creations that he sells to support the disability community.

Sadly, he and his mother can only accommodate suburbs that are near Cockburn Central.

Pros

  • Offers monthly shredding services
  • Recycles everything they shred
  • Donates most of their earnings to charities

Cons

  • Service coverage limited around Cockburn Central
  • Limited manpower
