Pros
- Can notarize documents in any language
- Extensive experience working with different documents
- Easy to get a cost estimate
- Straightforward appointment process
Cons
- No elevator access to their office
- Rush appointments come at an extra cost
What we like best about Notary Express is that they’ve got extensive experience in working with different kinds of documents and can even notarise documents written in another language!
They list over 20 documents they can notarise on their website, but if your document isn’t on that list, we encourage you to call them, as it’s possible they’ve worked with it in the past.
They stay true to their name, so you can easily book an appointment with them on their website. They can serve you outside of their regular office hours and during weekends or public holidays, although you will have to pay an extra fee.
However, this is extremely helpful if you have court deadlines to catch up with and need to file your papers ASAP.
While they have no set rates available on their website, it’s easy to get a cost estimate through their online form.
All you have to do is fill up the necessary information such as your name, the number of documents that needs notarization, and the type of document. Alternatively, you can also upload the document for a more accurate estimate.
Most past clients claim that the office was highly responsive and eager to assist them with their notarial needs.
However, there is no elevator access to the office, which is important to know if you have mobility issues.

Pros
- Open 7 days a week
- Offers same-day appointments
- Lawyer has over 30 years of experience
- Has drive-through service
Cons
- Sees lots of clients in a day
- Mobile service has extra fee
Notary West is owned and run by Garry Same, who has over 30 years of experience as a notary public and 40 years as a lawyer. However, he’s focusing his practice on being a notary public.
Despite running his office alone, Garry is able to accommodate multiple clients in one day. To do this, he’s open seven days a week, even on public holidays.
He does offer same-day appointments, but there’s no assurance you’ll get an appointment on that day within office hours. However, if your appointment is pushed back past his office’s closing time, there will be no additional fees.
We also appreciate how he has drive-through and mobile services, although the latter comes at an extra fee depending on your place of residence.
But if you’re unable to go to his office or have mobility issues, this is definitely a great option and worth the surcharge.
We were impressed to hear no complaints about Garry’s service, and many of his clients swear by his services.
This is because he takes the time to help each client understand the implications of the documents they need to be notarized and answers every question you may have.
His fees vary on the documents and the extent of services you’ll require, and the only way to get a cost estimate is by calling his office beforehand.
But from our customer research, clients found his rates were fair for the service they received.

Pros
- Has drive-through service
- Offers multiple legal services
- Multiple lawyers available
- Easy to get an appointment
Cons
- Minor complaints on service
- Limited availability for drive-through services
- Fees unavailable online
Tan and Tan Lawyers is where you must go if you’re looking for other legal services on top of notarial services.
For example, if you’re in need of legal assistance for estate planning and wills, you’ll most likely need some documents notarized. This saves you from the extra effort and trip you’ll take in looking for separate notarial services.
They have multiple lawyers available, which means availability isn’t usually a problem—unless you’re looking to avail of their drive-through notarial services.
They’re one of the first offices to offer drive-through notarial services after the start of the COVID pandemic, and since borders have opened, the demand for this service has increased.
Hence, we don’t recommend the drive-through service unless you have mobility issues or cannot get to their office.
They also offer fingerprint notary services, which is a great way to save time from setting multiple appointments.
We do encourage you to call ahead and give a detailed breakdown of the services you require to get a detailed quote, as they don’t offer cost estimates on their website or have an online form you can fill out.
We did hear some complaints about their service, although these were mostly regarding their other legal services and a misunderstanding between the client and lawyer.
4. D’Angelo Legal

Pros
- Offers multiple legal services
- Professional approach
- Good record of client loyalty
- Good communication
Cons
- Fees unavailable online
- Limited notarial services
- Cannot book online
D’Angelo Legal is another Perth law office that offers multiple legal services, including personal injury law, commercial law, estate planning, conveyancing, settlements, and, of course, notarial services.
It is worth noting, however, that they do focus on their other legal services than notarial ones. This is also what the bulk of their clientele visits them for.
We were impressed with how most of their clients have remained loyal over the years. Clients mentioned how the lawyers were easy to work with and respond quickly to requests.
This is especially important when you’re on a tight deadline to file some documents, and it makes up for the fact that they don’t have an online form to set your appointments. The only way to set an appointment would be to call them.
Their fees aren’t also available online, unfortunately, and you can’t submit a form to request for an estimate either. Again, the only way to get a cost estimate is through the phone, which may be inconvenient for some.
However, with the quality of service you’ll receive and their great record of customer feedback, we think the law firm is worth the bit of trouble.

Pros
- Extensive experience
- Good record of client loyalty
- Reasonable rates
- Multiple legal services offered
Cons
- Limited information available online
- Some complaints on service
Furstenberg Solicitors & Notaries is owned and run by Willem Furstenberg who is both a solicitor and notary public. He’s been practising since 1994 and has extensive experience in the legal field.
We were impressed with how he practised law in different locations, namely South Africa, Perth Metro, and Morley, before opening up his current office in Joondalup.
Unlike other firms on this list, he focuses on his notarial services just as much as he does on his other legal services. His clients see him for both kinds, although we did hear some complaints about his service and communication style.
A few clients were unsatisfied with the service they received, claiming that they were inconvenienced and not attended to properly, although, upon further research, we believe it was mostly due to miscommunication.
The feedback regarding his services has been generally good, and most clients were satisfied, with a decent number staying on as clients for years.
Our main concern, however, is the limited information available on their website. This can be inconvenient to some, although a quick phone call should do the trick.
Fortunately, we’ve heard that the office’s reception staff has been good at keeping up with calls, client requests, and enquiries. They’re also quick to assist you regarding your documents or deadlines.

Pros
- Has 2 offices in West Perth and Albany
- Provides many complimentary legal practices
- Communicates and explains well
- Efficient in handling urgent projects
Cons
- Their offices are farther from prospects in Northern Perth
- Unavailable on Saturdays and Sundays
Hammond Legal is another one of our top suggestions for your public notary needs in Perth.
Since they have offices in West Perth and Albany, we believe their locations are accessible enough for prospects. This is primarily to entertain a larger number of residents than Perth’s other public notaries.
They can also help with criminal law, wills and estates, litigation, commercial law, business negotiations, property law, employment law, and so on.
We think this ability gives them an edge in notarising various documents since their expertise spans many legal topics. It’s also good that they make a lot of legal terms easier to understand, even if this takes more time.
Not only that, but they’re usually punctual as well. This makes time-sensitive matters more doable in an efficient way, in our opinion.
Hammond Legal’s contact form is pretty straightforward since it asks beforehand which branch you’re closer to.
It does, however, help to be near West Perth or Albany in the first place. In our opinion, northern Perth residents may find driving to their office a bit more challenging because they’ll be farther to either.
Conveniently, their location offers some parking and shade to make your visits more comfortable. Just remember that they take breaks on weekends, too.
