Top 5 Mattress Stores in Perth

How We Picked the Top-Rated Mattress Stores in Perth

Variety

We chose mattress stores in Perth that have a wide variety of choices—from sizes to mattress firmness.

Product Quality

Mattresses come in all sizes and at different price points, so we made a point to choose the stores that can fit your budget.

Customer Service

You may be confused as to which type of mattress you’d like to purchase, and having staff ready to assist you would make your visit easier.

Warranties

Sometimes mattresses will have manufacturing defects, so we made sure to choose the stores that have warranties for their products.

Cost

Mattresses of excellent quality don’t come cheap, but some stores can offer sales, promotions, or financing options to make them more affordable.

Pros

  • Large collection
  • Quick delivery
  • Can take away your old mattress
  • Wide price range

Cons

  • Complaints on mattress quality
  • Minor complaints on after-sales support

If you’re looking to have a new mattress while also supporting local businesses, you should check out Makin Mattresses. While they use high-quality materials from Europe, they are 100% Australian-owned and operated since they opened in 1975.

What we like best about them, however, is their wide range of merchandise at different price points too. Their prices start at $99 and go up all the way to $2,000.

Their mattresses come in three main firmness types—soft, medium, and firm—although there are options in between that you can choose from.

We also appreciate how you can request custom sizes that do not fit the standard mattress sizes. This is especially helpful if you have limited space or need a mattress for your caravan.

You can choose to order online from their website or visit their physical location to have a feel of the mattresses there. Customers noted that their in-store staff was quick to help them choose the proper mattresses.

All mattresses purchased from them will be delivered to you for free, and they can even take out your old mattress for you, although this comes at an extra cost.

While all their products come with a 60-day swap guarantee, some customers have complained that their mattresses sagged or hollowed within a few weeks of use.

Unfortunately, the after-sales service wasn’t of much help to these customers either, with some claiming that the replaced mattresses had the same issue.

2. Bedworld

Pros

  • Also sells bedroom furniture
  • Sells mattress and frame packages
  • Wide price range
  • Quick delivery

Cons

  • Poor after-sales support
  • Some products arrived with flaws

Bedworld is your place to go if you’re in need of linens, frames, and even bedroom furniture such as drawers, headboards, dresser mirrors, and bedside tables.

We think they’re most suitable for new homeowners or those who are going through a full bedroom renovation. They’ve got options for kids’ beds as well, including bunk beds.

We also like how they have electric adjustable beds, with some having a massage option. Of course, these beds are more expensive than regular ones, but they’re helpful to those with special needs.

Once you’ve made your order—whether in-store or online—they will be delivered to you. Multiple customers have reported that the delivery was prompt and the crew was happy to help them set up the mattresses or furniture ordered.

In the rare case of delays, they’re quick to let you know of any updates and the new delivery date.

We were most impressed with just how dedicated they are to help their customers choose the right mattress, especially customers who have disabilities and need special mattresses or payment plans.

However, this exemplary service seems to end the moment purchases are made. Some customers complained that their products arrived with manufacturing flaws, and unfortunately, after-sales service wasn’t able to help them.

While the products came with a warranty, customer service wasn’t helpful in assisting them to replace or refund their purchase.

3. Bedshed

Pros

  • Holds occasional sales
  • Also sells bedroom furniture
  • Wide range of merchandise
  • Has a 7-day price promise

Cons

  • Complaints of delayed delivery
  • Inconsistent in-store customer service

Bedshed is one of the most convenient options on this list, especially if you want to do most of your shopping online. We like how you can put in your postcode to access the local prices in the location nearest you.

While they have multiple locations around Australia, we chose the Osborne Park location for its convenience and the variety of its merchandise.

Should you choose to shop online, it’s usually guaranteed that the stock listed on their site is available, although we have heard complaints about delayed delivery due to the store running out of stock.

However, delivery delays aren’t just exclusively caused by a lack of stock, as they can also be caused by a backlog of deliveries or in one instance, a delivery notice not being issued by the store.

These have frustrated past customers, so we encourage you to ask for updates on your order.

There were also some complaints about inconsistent customer service, with some claiming that the staff did their best to help them find the right mattresses, while others claimed that they were never attended to.

It is likely that this may be because the store is busy, which is why we advise you to visit during quieter hours on weekdays.

It’s best to be aware of when they hold sales, as this can lead to a much busier store. If you know what you’re getting, shopping online may be the best option.

Pros

  • Holds occasional sales
  • Multiple brands available
  • Also sells bedroom furniture
  • Great customer service

Cons

  • Sometimes runs out of stock
  • Minor complaints of poor after-sales service

Perhaps one of the most known mattress stores in the world is Forty Winks. And with the variety of merchandise and brands to choose from, it’s no wonder they’ve kept their good reputation.

They’ve got popular mattress brands like Tempur and SleepMaker, but they also have Australian-made mattresses if you’re looking to support local businesses.

Premium mattresses can cost a lot, and fortunately, Forty Winks holds occasional sales that have promos for 50% off. You can keep track of the sales they’re having by looking at their website before you visit their store.

We find shopping on their website to be a breeze, and we appreciate how you can take advantage of their financing options with 0% interest.

They’re also one of the few stores that offer overnight delivery, which is extra convenient if you’re in need of a mattress quickly.

If you are looking to shop online, we encourage you to call up their store and double-check if they have stock, as this has caused complications for some customers.

Customers mentioned that the store staff was eager to help them find the right mattress and was not pushy when trying to make the sale.

However, some customers complained that they were not assisted thoroughly when they voiced their concerns after purchasing items.

This was especially prominent among those requesting replacements for damaged items within the warranty period.

5. Barkers Bedding & Mattresses

Pros

  • Wide price range of merchandise
  • Also sells mobility scooters and life chair
  • Offers interest-free terms
  • Great customer service
  • NDIS registered

Cons

  • Online shopping interface not convenient
  • Free delivery only for items above $500

Barkers Bedding & Mattresses is the best option if you have special needs and are looking for particular beds or mattresses.

We also find it extremely helpful that they are National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered, making them able to assist those with disabilities or older customers.

Other than the usual mattresses, they also sell mobility scooters and lift chairs for those who need them. Of course, these products don’t come cheap, and fortunately, they offer interest-free options and lay-bys.

We suggest that you visit their store to get the best shopping experience, as we find that their online website doesn’t have the best interface for online shopping. Other than that, it’s best to have a feel of the mattresses and beds yourself.

It’s also good to go to their physical store, as we’ve heard great reviews about their customer service. Customers reported that they were happy with the service they received, with staff being ready to assist them and give them recommendations.

They do deliver any item you purchase from their store, but it’s only free for orders worth $500 and above. Regardless of whether delivery is free or not, their delivery crew is always ready to help you set up.

Additionally, they can also remove your old mattress at no extra cost. However, this is only limited to customers within the Perth Metro Area.

They can deliver anywhere around Western Australia, although there may be additional fees.
