I’m happy to report that a project of mine was able to be done with just a couple of days’ lead time. Still, with their many clients, I was told some small-scale projects could experience delays.

I was referred to QuickTurn Engineering for its 5-axis CNC machining capabilities, which allow for machining complex shapes in a single setup. It’s advantageous for intricate parts and large-scale projects for its superior surface finishes and for reducing the need for multiple setups.

The shop has 30 years of experience in the industry. Its experienced team can manage both straightforward and intricate projects with ease using a wide range of materials from plastic to titanium.

Its practices aim to be ecologically justified, technically feasible, and economically sound. It uses a 30kW PV grid connected system to reduce power usage and lower its carbon footprint.

However, it’s a bit disappointing that the shop only operates on weekdays and doesn’t offer after-hours services.

A colleague’s experience with WCMS had me looking into it. According to him, the staff provided quotes within 48 hours, delivered stock on time, and offered design tweaks or better material suggestions for the application.

A visit revealed that the shop offers AWS D1.1-certified welding and fabrication services. This certification ensures high-quality welding for a variety of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.

Besides the aforementioned, it offers a range of services, including prototyping, 3D CAD design, and low-cost precision CNC machining​. It works with high tensile steels, stainless steels, super duplex, titanium, Inconel, aluminium, brass, and plastics like nylon, acetal, and polyethylene.

Of course, lead times will be compromised the more complex a project is, but this is understandable due to thorough quality control processes.
