Meat is heat—especially when shared at these best Korean BBQ spots in Perth!

We have a real bone to pick with Korean BBQ—but not because it tastes like soggy cardboard. It’s more about how it sticks in our heads, no matter the time, day, or number of gym sessions we’ve booked.

That’s especially the case in Perth. Korean BBQ is all the rage here, and the loads of spots serving K-style meat prove it.

If you’re drooling for the best of the bunch to down with your mates, look no further. We’ve grilled our way through the city, and the places below are the haunts still giving us the most intense cravings.

Gangnam at Yagan Square

From gangnam.yagansquare

Address: GS. 08. Yagan Square, 420 Wellington St
Contact Details: +61 426 633 482
Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 5 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Fri to Sun – 12 pm to 10 pm

Website

Reasonably priced and ever-fresh, Gangnam at Yagan Square always sends us straight to Flavortown. The flaky spring rolls and earthy bibimbap with a gochujang kick alone are worth every penny.

As for the BBQ, we stick with the marinated set for 2, a solid platter of garlicky and sweet beef. Last payday, though, the team splurged a bit with the Wagyu set. The naturally buttery and smoky meat didn’t give us regrets!

Tip: As surprising as it sounds, they have an online shop with cutesy products like vases and shirts. Score some!

Arirang Korean BBQ Restaurant

From arirangaustralia

Address: 91-93 Barrack St
Contact Details: +61 8 9225 4855
Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 11:30 am to 3:30 pm, 5 pm to 8:30 pm

  • Sat – 11:30 am to 8:30 pm
  • Sun – 11 am to 9:30 pm

Website

Arirang has been feeding BBQ maniacs since 1999, but don’t think that makes them yesterday’s news. The packed queues at their Barrack St spot will tell you everything.

Best-selling sets here, like the pork and premium Wagyu ones, burst with smoky and garlicky goodness. There’s also the bulgogi option boasting a caramelised glaze and sweeter edge, perfectly lifting the umami of thinly sliced beef.

Tip: Deals like $10 bingsu and $6.50 coffee pop up seasonally. Give them a call to confirm.

K Town Restaurant

From ktown_restaurant

Operating Hours:

  • Mon, Wed to Thu – 5 pm to 10 pm
  • Fri to Sat – 5 pm to 12 am
  • Sun – 5 pm to 10 pm

Facebook

K-Town wasn’t hard to find; we simply followed the heavenly scent of soy-marinated meat and smoke. It dropped us in a gravel courtyard, where we feasted on all-you-can-eat BBQs for a sweet deal of $40 to $48 a pop.

Choosing the mixed option was a solid call, with spicy and savoury beef, chicken, and pork filling our plates. But the buffet set? That’s what sealed the deal, adding sweet scallops and prawns to the table.

Tip: Deals like free mussels and cheaper cocktails are all posted on their Instagram.

Marubang Korean BBQ Meat & Drink

From marubang_bbq

Address: 318 William St, Northbridge
Contact Details: +61 452 641 156
Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 5 pm to 10 pm
  • Fri – 5 pm to 11 pm
  • Sat – 11:30 am to 2 pm, 5 pm to 11 pm

Website

Marubang is one of those spots where leaving feels impossible, and choosing what to eat isn’t any easier with over 20 cuts to pick from. Our regular order, though, is the marinated set—a mix of soy and chilli-flavoured chicken thighs and pork jowls.

However, it’s the bossam (pork belly) and jokbal (pig’s feet) extras that made us say “This is worth writing for.” The naturally savoury bossam melted in our mouths, while the jokbal’s slow-braised, peppery goodness was the extra kick we needed on our last visit.

Tip: Plan your visit accordingly, as seating time is limited to 120 minutes.

Palsaik Korean BBQ

From palsaiknamooperth

Address: 73 Lake St, Northbridge
Contact Details: +61 431 958 035
Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 5 pm to 10 pm
  • Fri to Sat – 5 pm to 11 pm
  • Sun – 5 pm to 10 pm

Website

One glance at Palsaik, and it’s clear why it’s an iconic spot for chilling with mates and feasting on meat. The rustic tavern feel is bang-on, while their sets for 3 to 4 people keep tongues and wallets happy, ranging from $75 to $137.

Of course, the Palsaik pork belly combo is the crowd favourite, offering 5+ flavours, from peppery to chilli. The marinated sets aren’t far behind, with combo A being the go-to thanks to its salty-sweet pork neck cuts and gochujang-based chuck.

Tip: If you’re after cheap combo meals, swing by during lunchtime.

The BBQ Buffet Hangang

From the_buffet_hangang

Address: 97 Murray St
Contact Details: +61 451 603 880
Operating Hours: Mon to Tue, Thu to Sun – 5 pm to 10 pm
Facebook

BBQ Buffet Hangang knows its way around the fire, with charcoal-kissed meats that will remind you why traditional cooking slaps. For proof, try the spicy-sweet pork and beef buffet—savoury deals made more lip-smacking by charred and crispy edges.

Wagyu takes the top spot here, though. The marbling brings those next-level buttery notes, so every bite is indulgent, especially when paired with some zingy kimchi.

Tip: Walk-ins are allowed. However, we strongly recommend dialling their digits to book, especially if you’re gunning for a dinner spot.

Korean BBQ Village is another proof that charcoal-grilled meats bring the smokier and crispier edge we all crave. The choices here are also varied, but you can always count on the classic trio of sweet, spicy, and soy-based flavours.

The best bit? Unlike the usual cramped BBQ spots, this place has roomy seating and speedy service. Packed or not, large groups get seated, and refills show up quicker than you’d expect.

Tip: The best time to swing is around 1 pm to 2 pm.

Namoo Korean Restaurant

From hcaoeats

Address: 361 Albany Hwy, Victoria Park

  • Fri to Sat – 11 am to 3 pm, 5 pm to 10 pm
  • Sun – 11 am to 3 pm,  5 pm to 9 pm

When it comes to pork belly, best bellyve that Namoo will deliver. Garlic, bulgogi, chilli—yup, they have around 8 types, all richly marinated and fresh as you’d find in any self-respecting Korean kitchen.

Additionally, the place is spacious and fantastic for unwinding, with a relaxed, earthy aesthetic. Sushi refills are also free with the set menus, so you can keep going until your mates tell you to stop.

Tip: Pay in cash to score discounts.

Sura & Sinabro

From rach4288

Address: 100 Francis St, Northbridge
Contact Details: +61 433 811 460
Operating Hours:

  • Tue to Thu – 5:30 pm to 11 pm
  • Fri to Sat – 5:30 pm to 12 am
  • Sun – 5:30 pm to 11 pm

Facebook

Sura & Sinabro’s smoky aroma and authentic Korean BBQ can entice anyone. Our team is no exception. Last time around, the tender beef ribs really busted our diets with their ideal balance of salt and umami.

Servings of intestines and ox tongue gave the feast an exotic slice. Both were on the chewy side, but the intestines were rich in earthy flavours, while the ox tongue was more like a milder version of beef.

Tip: You can BYO wine, but prepare for the $7 corkage per bottle.

Tong 86

From tong86_kbbq

Address: 186 Beaufort St
Contact Details: +61 415 884 557
Operating Hours: Wed to Sun – 11:30 am to 8 pm
Facebook

If Tong 86 is the first thing entering your mind whenever Korean BBQ is brought up, we won’t throw shade your way. They’re an OG grilling and get-together place, made more special by the roomy, warehouse-style interior often teeming with lively groups.

As for food, the crowds usually go for the marinated chicken set, loved for its garlicky, soy-based flavour that’s lifted by honey. Brisket is a smokier and more intensely umami alternative, though it’s naturally more expensive.

Tip: You can get here via train. The resto is a quick 7-minute walk from the station.

Gami

From rai.foodie

Address: William Square, 45 Francis St, Northbridge
Contact Details: +61 8 9227 0126
Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Thu – 6 pm to 10:30 pm
  • Fri to Sat – 5:30 pm to 11:30 pm
  • Sat – 5:30 pm to 11:30 pm
  • Sun – 6 pm to 10:30 pm

Website

Gami is meant for nightouts. Colourful artwork, long tables, an airy interior—you get our point. If you don’t, think about this: this chic spot is one of the city’s hottest joints for K-style chicken BBQ.

Take their best-selling mad gochujang chicken, a smoky and fiery bite that goes well with their massive beer pints. And if you can’t take the fire (or the buzz), go for the milder skewers, offering 4 smoky, lightly marinated cuts with a side of greens.

Tip: Popping by on Wednesdays will get you $1 wings.

SSAM Korean BBQ & Mini Hot Pot

From natashajournals

Address: 313 Albany Hwy, Victoria Park
Contact Details: +61 8 6162 8623
Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Fri – 5 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Sat to Sun – 11 am to 2:30 pm, 5 pm to 9:30 pm

Website

Honestly, our team has lost count of the times we’ve had to loosen our belts at SSAM. It’s one of the last truly authentic spots, where every sauce is homemade and the meat platters come with a side of fresh greens, usually crisp lettuce.

For options, there’s beef, chicken, and seafood, but our team’s regular order is pork belly. The fat crisps up just right, while the roasted notes complement the sweet and savoury profile.

Tip: If you want something more private, consider hosting a function here. Ring their number for booking deets.

Bulgogi BBQ Restaurant

From hyun9126

Address: 282 Hay St, East Perth
Contact Details: +61 457 208 806
Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Fri – 5:30 pm to 10 pm
  • Sat – 5 pm to 10 pm

Facebook

Post-work blues and hunger pangs get sorted at the no-fuss Bulgogi BBQ. And as you’d expect, bulgogi is the money-maker.

On our last visit, the thinly sliced beef was spot on—sweet without going overboard, with smoky and garlicky undertones we’re crazy for. Even the banchan impressed, especially the pickled radish that gave our taste buds a much-needed refresh.

Tip: There’s only Korean beer and spirits here. BYO wine if you prefer pairing meat with vino.

SIK GAEK Korean BBQ Restaurant

From whatforfeast

Address: Shop 7/68 Langford Ave, Langford
Contact Details: +61 8 9358 0138
Operating Hours: Daily – 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, 5 pm to 9 pm
Website

SIK GAEK is this list’s only joint doing lamb skewers Korean-style. That means it’s a bloody must for anyone who’s into that gamey kick with a spicy-sugary twist.

Pork and chicken BBQ aren’t left out either; most foodies wolf them down with the earthy black bean noodle soup. And while it’s not grilled, their legendary tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) is a must-devour for its unique zingy essence and crispy texture.

Tip: Don’t worry about parking. The resto typically has plenty of parking space even during packed dinner hours.

Gangnam

From gangnamcarousel

Address: R205/1382 Albany Hwy, Cannington
Contact Details: +61 8 9350 5186
Operating Hours:

  • Mon to Fri – 11:30 am to 8:30 pm
  • Sat to Sun – 11 am to 9 pm

Website

Gangnam was where our love for Korean BBQ began. With so many meats on offer, we got to explore everything on our first trip alone, from crackling pork belly to the buttery Angus short rib.

But it was the Wagyu set, with its rich marbling, bold beef flavour, and tangy marinade, that locked us into this obsession. Mad props to the stylish and sleek interior too; it’s the right vibe for get-togethers.

Tip: They’re one of the busiest spots in town, so if vibes don’t matter much to you, consider ordering online.
