Pros
- Amazing ambience
- Authentic German dishes
- Great selection of German beers
- Reasonable prices
Cons
- Dining area can get very noisy on busy days
- Limited operating hours
The Rhein-Donau Club is my go-to restaurant whenever I’m hungry for some schnitzel and bratwurst. This social club aims to provide its customers with an authentic German dining experience and more.
What’s really amazing about this restaurant is the ambience you’ll experience the moment you set foot in the establishment. The walls are adorned with decorations and artwork that make you feel like you’re in Germany.
The staff here also wears traditional German clothes to make the ambience more authentic.
How about the food itself? For me, the menu was very good, and the dishes were authentic.
The menu consists of popular German dishes like bratwurst, schnitzel, sauerkraut, and more.
This restaurant is a great place to visit if you’re a fan of German beer. It has its own bar that sells beer imported from Germany.
Another great thing I can say is that the prices here are reasonable. Most of the dishes here are affordable, with most of them priced lower than $25.
However, a downside I can say about the Rhein-Donau Club is the rowdy atmosphere it has on its busier days. This restaurant can get very loud whenever I visit during busier seasons, like Oktoberfest.
Another downside to this restaurant is its limited business hours. It’s open only four days a week, which can be problematic for some people.

Pros
- Affordable meals
- Opens early
- Great menu variety
Cons
- Small establishment
- Serves until lunch only
Wunderbar Lunch Bar is a cosy little place I sometimes visit during my lunch breaks. This place serves some of the greatest German sausages and pretzels I’ve tasted in the city.
This restaurant offers a great variety of German dishes on its menu. Most of their menu consists of sausages and schnitzels, but they also offer some special meals that are only available on certain days.
This is a good idea, as it lets customers try something different every time they visit.
The best thing I can say about Wunderbar Lunch Bar is its affordable prices. A lot of their meals don’t go above $10, which is awesome for guys like me who don’t want to spend too much on their lunch.

It’s also a good thing that this restaurant opens early in the morning. Wunderbar Lunch Bar is a great choice if you’re looking for a quick breakfast before school or work.
However, a downside to this restaurant is its small size. This restaurant is still new and has limited seating capacity that can’t support a lot of dine-in customers during busy days.
Another downside to Wunderbar Lunch Bar is that it closes too early. This restaurant is already closed before 3:00 PM.
It’s a bummer you can’t eat their affordable and tasty German dishes at night.

Pros
- Great selection of German beers
- Amazing ambience
- Reasonable prices
- Good serving size
Cons
- Some staff members are too laidback
- Inconsistent food quality
Brotzeit is another solid choice if you’re looking to satisfy your craving for some German food. This restaurant offers a good ambience that aims to immerse customers in German culture and its delicious dishes.
My visit here was a good experience for me. The ambience inside the restaurant was relaxing and comfortable.
One thing I particularly like in this restaurant is the cool beer kegs they use as wall decorations.
Speaking of beer, the main highlight for me here is its awesome selection of German beers. A lot of the beers they sell here are famous in Germany, like Bock, Dunkel, Lager, and more.
Another thing I love about Brotzeit is its generous food serving sizes. A lot of the plates they serve here are a bit bigger compared to other restaurants I’ve visited in Perth.
It’s really good that the generous food serving sizes and great ambience here don’t mean you have to pay extra. Most of the food prices here are reasonable and aren’t far from those in most German restaurants.
However, one of the downsides I can say about Brotzeit is the customer service. The waitstaff was pretty lax and laidback during my visit, and it took them way too long to ask my friends and me about our orders.
Another downside to this restaurant is its inconsistent food quality. Most of what we’ve tasted here is great, but some of it, like the mashed potatoes, still needs a bit of improvement.

Pros
- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Affordable prices
- Great variety of schnitzels
Cons
- Inconsistent food quality
- Long waiting times
The Schnitz restaurant in Belmont Forum is one of my preferred choices when it comes to German schnitzels. This restaurant impressed me with its wide variety of schnitzels, some of which have a unique taste that’s hard to find anywhere else.
Here you can try out stuff like Hawaiian-style schnitzels and spicy schnitzels that are full of jalapenos and chilli. I’d like to tell you more, but there are too many for me to mention here.
Another great thing I’d like to mention about Schnitz is its awesome staff. The staff here welcomed my friends and me with warm smiles and friendly attitudes.
They were attentive to our requests, and they were more than happy to describe to us in detail the different kinds of schnitzels they offer.
What I really appreciate about Schnitz, though, is its affordable prices. Most of the schnitzels here are priced at less than $20, so it was really tempting for us to order seconds.
However, a downside I can say about this restaurant is its inconsistent food quality. Some of the meals we ordered here, like the burger, were a bit soggy and had too much oil.
Thankfully, most of the schnitzels we ordered here were tasty and delicious.
Another downside to Schnitz is the long waiting times. We had to wait longer for some of the meals we ordered, which wasn’t a great experience for us since most of us were really hungry during our visit.
5. Duckstein German Brewery & Restaurant

Pros
- Great for large groups
- Generous food serving sizes
- Excellent beer options
- Great ambience
Cons
- Expensive prices
- Reports of rude behaviour from the staff
Duckstein German Brewery & Restaurant is one of my recommended options for large groups of people. Its spacious interior and amazing ambience make it one of the best spots to have fun as a group.
What’s amazing about this place is its location. This restaurant is located near the famous Swan Valley, which is the centre for wine production in Western Australia.
The beautiful scenery gives this restaurant a distinct personality and ambience.
As I’ve mentioned before, this restaurant is also capable of hosting large groups of people. This is a big reason why Duckstein German Brewery & Restaurant is popular among tour groups in the Swan Valley.
Another great reason why this place is best for large groups is its generous food serving sizes. A lot of the dishes here are significantly bigger than what I’ve seen at other restaurants in Perth.
Duckstein German Brewery & Restaurant is also a great place to visit if you’re a beer fan. This brewery makes some excellent beer choices, like their Altbier, Dunkel, and classic Pilsner.
However, a downside to this restaurant is its expensive prices. I find most of the dishes here have “tourist prices.”
This means that they charge more for their dishes because they are very popular with tourists and non-locals.
Some customers were also disappointed with Duckstein German Brewery & Restaurant’s customer service. They told me that the staff here was rude towards them and didn’t even bother to welcome them properly.
