Pros
- Experienced in both surgical and non-surgical solutions
- Very good with children
Cons
- Not as helpful with referrals for cases out of his purview
- Appointments don’t always run on time
Dr Tim Cooney is a great ENT specialist in general, but he is particularly good with handling kids. We like how his approach tries to minimise the need for extreme measures like surgery, although he also has great surgical experience.
We like how he explains everything in detail and knows how to make things feel less scary without sugarcoating things. He also gives lots of options, so you’re not necessarily tied down to one single path moving forward.
We find that his technique is precise and efficient. Upon checking his surgical history, we were comforted to see a reliable success rate.
With the way he handled our questions and concerns, there really is no doubting his expertise. It’s easy to trust his advice, especially when even his “simpler” fixes seem to show significant results.
Although his reception staff is very friendly and helpful, we will note that the experience is not necessarily consistent. There are times when waiting time can be annoying, especially on busier days.
Even if you already have an appointment set, we recommend giving them a call before you head there to make sure that you will be seen at the proper time.

Pros
- Very experienced yet thorough
- Friendly and efficient staff
Cons
- No clinic website
- No online booking platform
Dr Stuart Miller is pretty popular for his work and philanthropy, and we can gladly attest to his ability as an ENT specialist in Perth.
If you’re having trouble finding his practice, we suggest giving him a call or reaching out through his email address. We do wish he had a personal website or online booking platform, but it’s worth getting an appointment to get his stellar treatment.
It would be easy to recommend him solely on his years of experience and collection of accolades, but what we really want to highlight is his approach. He is very kind, empathetic, and understanding.
We appreciate how well he listens to concerns and addresses them in an easy-to-digest way. On top of that, we never felt like he was just rushing things along just because it happened to be a case he’d already seen before.
He is thorough with tests, which we find really refreshing considering how most doctors with years under their belt tend to skip some of these tests and go with previous experience.
His receptionists are also very helpful, and are willing to answer questions without making you feel like a bother. On top of Dr Miller’s diagnostic ability, we also want to highlight his skill in surgical procedures.

Pros
- Highly experienced ENT specialist with amazing bedside manner
- Consistent success with both simple and complicated cases
Cons
- Staff demeanour can be inconsistent
- Appointments might sometimes be moved
Dr Peter Friedland is an adult and paediatric ENT specialist in Perth with a great clinic and lots of experience. We think his clinic stands out in that it feels professional, simple, yet very welcoming.
His practice is well-kept, and it really seems like it has been set up to immediately put you at ease. Although parking is not free, there is ample space so you won’t have trouble finding a spot.
First and foremost, we would recommend visiting this practice for the good doctor himself. We really have no complaints about him as a physician.
Dr Friedland is a great listener, has an exceptional bedside manner, and will find a way to make you feel comfortable even when discussing serious things. He is very clear about every step and yet remains caring and approachable throughout the process.
We like that he comes at an angle that isn’t cold or rushed, and he backs up his personality with skill to boot. We really recommend him whether you are seeking out a procedure, a check-up, or ongoing care.
The practice does have a pretty strict policy on referrals, so make sure you have all your paperwork in order. We also recommend calling as they are more responsive and aligned when you conduct your business via their telephone.
One negative point we will note, though, is the inconsistent demeanour of the staff. Although you’re bound to have good experiences with his friendly and helpful team, there are iffy moments in the mix.
Some staff members are not always the most helpful or warm. There have also been previous incidents where appointments are moved in an inconvenient manner.
It’s best to call and make sure you double-check that your appointment will push through as planned.
Overall, Dr Friendland and his clinic are definitely worth a visit. Should you get an appointment, you can look forward to reliable treatment.
4. Dr Chady Sader

Pros
- Lots of experience with cancer cases and surgical removals
- Very knowledgeable and confident
Cons
- Administrative staff is inconsistent
- Booking initial appointments can be troublesome
The best thing about Dr Chady Sader is that he really makes the effort to speak to your GP. We like that it makes it feel more collaborative and it is an added comfort that ensures a personalised approach.
He is very confident and easy to talk to, and we find that his skills match his personality well. We find that his area of expertise is in surgical treatment, especially when fighting cancerous areas, although he is also well-versed in other areas of ENT treatment.
He is very communicative, so we never felt lost during our conversation with him. We also like how he freely explains everything to patients, since it can make things less scary when you understand exactly what is going on.
You can ask questions, broach concerns, and follow up without worrying about being met with a snarky response. Dr Sader is a pretty consistent physician, so we can confidently recommend him if you’re looking for a good ENT specialist in Perth.
That said, we should note that his consultations are done in Western ENT. While his personal behaviour and skill are commendable, the general staff in Western ENT is less consistent in terms of reliability.
Administrative staff can be very short with their replies, especially on busier days. It’s also not the easiest thing to get your initial booking.
We recommend using their online form to send your referral right away and make the process easier for yourself. You should also specify that you wish to get an appointment with Dr Sader, since other specialists consult here, too.
The friendliness of the staff is rather questionable, and we found that phone calls can be a slight pain. If you can get your first booking, you’ll find that Dr Sader really champions his patients and it’s easier to get to follow-ups.

Pros
- Very consistent, gentle, and knowledgeable
- Good staff and clinic space
Cons
- No clinic website
- Limited communication and booking lines
Dr Geoffrey Hee is a very reliable ENT specialist in Perth that we recommend because of his consistency. His private practice is also very cosy and welcoming, so that’s a real plus for us.
We do wish that he had an online booking platform or clinic website to make things easier, but you can easily reach out using his official telephone line. He also operates at St John of God Subiaco Hospital, but his clinic space is the one you’ll likely visit for consultations.
What’s really great about Dr Hee is that he really displays a calming and caring attitude from start to finish. His aftercare is really wonderful and he’ll even call to check up on you and make sure everything is going fine.
He is very knowledgeable in his field and will clearly explain everything from the root cause of issues to the next steps and solutions you can expect. Additionally, he is also very gentle with how he goes about his treatments.
We also want to highlight his reception staff, as they are consistently helpful, kind, and professional. They’ll get to your concerns in an efficient manner, even if points of contact may be limited.
Dr Hee’s practice is comfortable, so it’s not bothersome to wait. Even then, appointments run pretty consistently on time.
He is also very accommodating, so if you have concerns or even complaints, he graciously takes them and is willing to clarify. Overall, we recommend seeking out his services.
