Taste beer like you’ve never had before in the best craft beer pubs in Perth!

Ever since my friends and I discovered craft beers, they’ve become a staple at our get-togethers. And who can blame us? The rich blend of flavours found in these beers is a sensory journey that we just can’t get enough of.

Each beer is a flavour adventure—from the deep chocolate notes of a stout to the zesty, citrus burst of an IPA. Every sip is a delight, whether it’s sweet caramel or a hint of bitterness.

To help others taste these amazing beers, I’ve made this list of the best craft beer pubs in Perth. Cheers!

Having visited The Exchange Brewing Co. in Perth a few times, I can tell you it’s a spot worth checking out. It’s oozing with classy vibes; it features a gorgeous bar where their varied collection of alcoholic drinks is on full display.

Out of all the craft beers I’ve tasted here, my favourite is their Marzen Lager. It’s a beer that almost everyone can enjoy thanks to its inclusion of Munich malt, which produces a rich, malty flavour and balanced hop bitterness.

Other noteworthy craft beers you’ll find here are their Lemon & Lime Hefeweizen, Red Ale, and English Bitter. Make sure to pair these amazing drinks with one of their brunch and dinner meals for an absolutely impeccable dining experience!

11:00 AM – 10:00 PM (THURS and SUN)

11:00 AM – 12:00 AM (FRI and SAT)

A place I frequently visit after watching a football match in the Optus Stadium is Blasta Collective. It’s one of the best pubs one can visit in Burswood! It features a casual yet stylish layout that’s housed in a beautiful converted red brick warehouse.

And there’s no better way to admire their amazing atmosphere than with a cold glass of beer in your hand. Lucky for us, they have an extremely diverse range of craft beers available here!

That includes my personal recommendation, their MyWay IPA, which won the Best Packaged IPA at the Perth Beer Awards in 2017. I love it for its bold hop flavours and balanced bitterness, which gives it an edge when it comes to uniqueness.

Pro tip: You can get an up-close look at how they make their delicious craft beers by visiting their brewery in High Wycombe. It’s also available as a private function space for events. Just head to this page to make a reservation.

Otherside of Nowhere

Website: https://othersidebrewing.com.au/

4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (WED and THURS)

4:00 PM – 11:00 PM (FRI)

12:00 PM – 11:00 PM (SAT)

12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (SUN)

If you’re like me and remember this place as Nowhereman Brewing Co., don’t worry, we’re in the right spot. After merging with Otherside Brewing Co. in 2023, it’s now known as Otherside of Nowhere.

The venue has kept its original charm that made it a must-visit. The dining area is simple yet inviting, with a variety of seating options and a massive bar where craft beers are served.

Out of all their craft beers, my top pick is the Hazy IPA. This smooth, hop-forward brew has hints of tropical fruit flavours, perfectly balancing the beer’s natural bitterness with the sweetness of mango and pineapple.

Pro tip: For die-hard craft beer fans, joining their Otherside Beer Tycoons VIP program is a must. You’ll enjoy exclusive perks like discounts, early access to new products, and even having your name featured on their wall.

Another craft beer pub I love to visit after watching a game in Optus Stadium is Bright Tank Brewing Co. Located in East Perth, its brewery has been making some amazing craft beers since its establishment in 2016.

One of my favourites at Bright Tank is the Chalkface Killah IPA. This hazy IPA has a deliciously fruity flavour and a smooth finish that keeps you coming back for more. It’s a local favourite, and once you try it, you’ll understand why.

They also offer a diverse range of other beers, like the Big Red Smeg Head IIPA, Urban Farmer Farmhouse Ale, No Filter IPA, and Brown Street Brown Ale, each with its own unique character.

Address: Peter Hughes Dr, Fremantle

Operating hours:

11:00 AM – 10:00 PM (SUN-THURS)

11:00 AM – 11:30 PM (FRI and SAT)

A list of the best craft beers in Perth wouldn’t be legit if it didn’t mention at least one pub from the historic city of Fremantle! Founded in 2002, Gage Roads is located just outside Victoria Quay and offers a relaxed, waterfront setting.

What I love about this place are the stunning views of the ocean and the passing ships unloading their cargo at Fremantle Port. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with a beer in hand, especially during summer.

For your first visit, I highly recommend trying their Little Dove. It has tropical aromas with notes of guava and stone fruit, balanced by a sweet malt backbone and medium bitterness. It’s the ideal craft beer to start a drinking session with your friends.

Pro tip: You can dive into the craft beer brewing process by joining one of their brewery tours. These tours cost $35 per person and run at 3 PM and 7 PM from Monday to Friday and at 11:30 AM on weekends.

Another pub you shouldn’t miss while in Freo is Running With Thieves. Housed in a 140-year-old wool store, this place perfectly captures two things Fremantle is known for: amazing seaside views and historic buildings.

I’ve only been here twice, but I can definitely say that both of my visits here were spectacular experiences. They have this massive dining area that lets you see the brewing tanks where the magic happens.

One of the most magical creations these brewing tanks produce is the Hazy Pale Ale. Brewed with Citra, Amarillo, and Ella hops, it’s surprisingly juicy for a 5.6% ABV beer thanks to it being loaded with fruity flavours like mango and peach.

Pro tip: Running With Thieves frequently rolls out new promotions and events to keep things exciting for their patrons. Stay updated and make early reservations by checking out this page!

During one of my Boxing Day shopping sprees in Westfield Carousel, I had the chance to visit The Waverley Brewhouse. It has quickly become one of my favourite drinking spots thanks to its casual and relaxed atmosphere.

Out of all the craft beers I’ve tasted here, my personal favourite would be their American pale ale. This refreshing brew features a mix of passionfruit, grapefruit, and citrus notes that perfectly balance the ale’s natural bitterness.

They also serve plenty of other craft beers like the Hefeweizen Ja Ja! Ale and the Waverley Paddleboard. If you’re lucky, you might get to try one of their seasonal beers, like the bittersweet Bad Santa 2.0, which is a holiday favourite.

With Northbridge having the reputation of being Perth’s nightlife capital, it’s only natural that it has some of the finest craft beer pubs in the city! This time we have the Northbridge Brewing Co., which is located right in the heart of this lovely suburb.

I often pick this spot for hangouts because their rooftop skydeck offers stunning views of the Perth city skyline. Plus, they have an impressive selection of craft beers brewed by their head brewer, Ken Arrowsmith.

Among every beer I’ve tasted here, I can confidently say that their Easy Tiger Pale Ale is the best. It’s a straightforward drink with a soft bitterness and hints of mandarin, making it the perfect drink to pair up with one of their delicious dishes.

If you don’t like travelling far for your craft beers, then The Generous Squire might be what you’re looking for. It’s located right in the centre of the Perth CBD and is only a couple of blocks away from Elizabeth Quay.

This pub boasts a diverse range of award-winning craft beers, such as their Broken Shackles Lager and Ginger Beer. Although I enjoy most of their creations, I always find myself returning to the first beer I ever ordered here, the 150 Lashes Pale Ale.

This brew has a smooth, balanced flavour with hints of citrus and a crisp finish, making it easy to drink—even if you’re not a big beer fan. Pair it with one of their mouthwatering burgers, and you’ve got yourself an amazing meal!
