Ginger Pear Graze’s food has the looks to match the taste. If you’ve seen or tasted their canapé, grazing tables, or buffets, you’d likely snap a pic and drop a nice caption.

Variety is another strong suit. Menu sections feature at least 10 different plates, with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options ready to go.

Whoever handles their communication front is clearly trained, too. An elaborate email landed in our inbox within 24 hours, sorting out our queries on pricing, menus, extras, and other essentials.

Speaking of pricing and extras, both checked out well. Quotes are right for Perth, and add-ons such as bar and esky hire are available.

Lending a hand with the planning and the cleanup afterwards got them extra marks as well.

Slots go out fast, though, so it’s smart to phone them ahead, ideally a year before the event.

Halal picks aren’t dished out either, as of our latest check.

Easy to Work With

Absolutely thrilled with the service from Ginger Pear Graze! We used them for a Display Home Opening and the grazing table was not only visually stunning but absolutely delicious. Absolutely Delicious

Top notch food and service. I wished we used these guys for our wedding last year. The food was second to none, absolutely delicious. We were told about their fusion cocktail menu and wanted to try a different type of cuisine for an anniversary celebration, as we always opt for Italian. Our favourites were the bao buns, sushi canapé, ceviche and truffle casarecce. Everything was amazing. Food was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Our family and friends loved everything and that’s saying alot as most are picky eaters. The wait staff were very attentive and respectful. The chefs and staff also left our kitchen spotlessly clean and tidy. Special thank you to Ainsley who was so patient with all our emails and questions during the booking process. We rang up Cherry’s Catering once we got wind that they’ve been around since 2000. Turns out, they’re a proper choice for large-scale weddings.

For starters, their selections are fully customisable. Most come with 20-plus choices, including diet-friendly bites.

You’re not limited to grazing boards either. Over 10 menu types are offered, such as roast, platters, cocktails, gourmet BBQ, and even Christmas-style dining.

The convenient bit is that you can opt for a drop-off setup. Logistically and financially, that’s an upside, though you’ll need to exert extra effort, considering you’ll do the unpacking, cleaning, etc.

Paying extra (price on application) to get linen or coloured napkins is a minor hitch, though.

Plus, Cherry’s Catering doesn’t serve all of Perth, just the CBD and the suburbs near it. If your spot is a question, phone them.

The good news? Almost every client reports a good helping with each dish.

Truly Exceptional

I can not recommend Cherry’s highly enough. We arranged catering for our Engagement Party last night, and it was truly exceptional. We ordered 14 platters, savoury and sweet, and every single thing was delicious. Besides, they’re not new to the game, with an opening dating back to 1997. Both large-scale and intimate weddings have been covered by this crew as well.

For us, though, rolling out chef-prepared, seasonal, and locally sourced food is Ultimo’s winning edge. Menus are fully bespoke, too, with customisable bites that can accommodate dietary or cultural needs.

On the flip side, customer service is a weak point. Past clients have noted red flags such as rude and complacent servers.

We’d also say they’re not the most suitable caterer if you’re working around a tight budget. Chef-prepped food is often pricier.

The silver lining is Ultimo’s partnerships with Perth’s top wedding venues, including halls and marquees. This helps with layout planning and logistics.

Ultimo were our wedding caterers and they were simply amazing from start to finish! Our initial tasting experience was incredible, offering a wide range of options, and the team made us feel at ease with their professionalism and friendly service.

On the big day, you could tell the food was prepared with love and care. We received countless compliments from our guests, with many saying it was the best wedding food they’d ever had! Food Was Amazing

We got married in early May, and had been dealing with Ultimo from early on in our planning. They were so helpful and were great with their communication. “Flexible” is a word that really suits Nosh Catering. You see, their portfolio features casual, formal, and specialised events (like picnic-style ones).

The same adjective applies to their menu types, as the selections are generally adjusted to a function’s theme (though finger foods and platters are what sell the most). 

For example, one of my workmates hired them to cater brekkie-inspired dishes for his wedding.

They’re not lacking in accreditations and decades either. Nosh has been recognised by the Wedding Industry Awards in 2023 and has been running since 1992, with licenses from FoodSafe and the Restaurant and Catering Association.

If there’s a snag, it’s definitely their popularity. You’ll most probably compete for slots here.

Tastings also take place at their Canning Vale spot and are only available on Saturdays. That might cause some planning woes, especially since the location is nearly a 40-minute drive from the Perth CBD.

Very Helpful

We used Nosh Catering for a combined 70th Birthday afternoon. Greg was very helpful to deal with. The menus were clear – we select hot savoury platters and some cakes. The selections were varied and also catered well for gluten free/vegan/vegetarian.

The food was delivered with a minimum of fuss and the quality was excellent. All of the food was devoured with enthusiasm, with a number of guests complimenting the taste and variety.

Taste Was Good

We hired Nosh Catering for a birthday brunch event for about 50 people. We are so glad we did the catering through Nosh! They accommodated our several tweaks an requests without any issue. Communication was prompt and easy from the start. Food delivered was on time and arrived hot, and serving size was ample! Taste was good too! My guests enjoyed the food, and there was plenty to go around. Their menu is extensive, and all readily available for your viewing online. I highly recommend Nosh Catering.

You’ll get the full package with Impressions Catering, as their services include planning, staff provision, assistance, equipment hire, venue selection guidance, and, of course, catering needs. This all-in-one approach is ideal for keeping stress levels down.

We also gave them extra points for on-the-fly problem-solving. As per the clients we talked to, this caterer is efficient in handling last-minute changes or requests.

Menu-wise, their spread is among the most diverse on this list. If we’re talking menu types, Impressions has more than 20, including niche picks such as high tea, meat rolls, and salad platters.

Just prepare to shell out an extra 15% for intricate dietary requirements. What counts as “intricate” isn’t set, so bring it up ahead of time.

Beyond that, they’re often fully booked around the end-of-the-year period. That’s a cause of concern if your wedding falls around then.

Luckily, you can go the drop-off route.

These guys catered for my 60th birthday and did an absolutely superb job. Nothing we can think of to suggest they do any better. Food was on point, staff very friendly, on time, professional, waitress did not miss anyone delivering the food. It was a great party, and Impressions certainly played a part to play in that.
