The 5 Best Clinics for STD Testing in Perth
How We Picked the Best Clinics for STD Testing in Perth
Cost
Aside from affordability, the value of STI or STD testing services must be worth their price. We also checked the costs compared to other sexual health clinics in Perth.
Patient Satisfaction
We looked at the patients’ positive and negative feedback to gauge their overall satisfaction.
Service
The clinics’ services were reviewed based on their scope and booking system.
Communication
Their staff should be accessible in case of questions or clarifications. They should also provide a high level of care throughout the service.

Pros
- Provides a full range of HIV and STI or STD testing
- Free street parking around their clinic
- Admin fee may be waived for low-income earners
- Free interpreter services
Cons
- Limited schedule for free street parking
- Only accepts clients via appointments
- Not wheelchair-accessible
For a full range of HIV and STI or STD testing in Perth for men, trans people, and non-binary people, M Clinic is one of our recommendations.
In addition, they offer vaccination for hepatitis A and B and human papillomavirus (HPV), the leading cause of genital warts.
Street parking around their clinic is free, but only after 6 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Alternatively, there’s free parking behind City West for 2 hours, about a 10-minute walk from the clinic.
However, their clinic isn’t wheelchair-accessible. This is one of the things they could improve on to support client mobility in the long run.
A $20 administration fee is also charged for most appointments with the nurse. Although, we’re glad that if the client can’t afford it, the clinic may waive the fee when their low-income criteria are met.
We also appreciate that they have interpreter services free of charge. Just make sure to let them know in advance so they can accommodate you.
Currently, M Clinic only accepts clients who have booked an appointment, and there are two ways to do this.
First, you may do so via online booking if you have no symptoms and want a sexual health consultation, vaccination appointment, or peer discussion.
But, it’s essential to know that their online booking differs from email booking. Right now, they aren’t able to entertain the latter, which may cause some delays.
Otherwise, calling them is also an option if you’re a contact for an STI. Keep in mind that they’ll be calling from a private number around the allotted time.
2. Sexual Health Quarters (SHQ)

Pros
- Longer opening hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Convenient location, minutes away from the railway station and bus port
- Available on the HotDoc website and app
- Clients may choose their preferred gender for a clinician
Cons
- Highly in-demand
- Possible long waiting times
Another reliable choice for STD testing in Perth is Sexual Health Quarters or SHQ for their wide selection of clinical services. This includes contraception information and supplies, unintended pregnancy, and cervical screening.
Furthermore, they provide professional counselling services specialising in relationships and sexual health issues.
They’re conveniently located at 70 Roe Street Northbridge, a 5-minute walk from the Perth Railway Station or 2 minutes from the Perth Busport. Street parking is also available on Lake Street and in the City of Perth car park (next door on Roe Street).
Apart from the option to call and book them online, clients also have the choice to get a slot for someone else. They’re available on the HotDoc website and app as well.
We appreciate the extra option for clients to choose a clinician of a specific gender. This is reassuring for those with a particular preference, although this may not always be available.
Just remember to arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment. The clinic is highly in demand, which may cause you to lose your appointment if you’re late.
However, a previous client shared having to wait 70 minutes for his arrangement. This could be an unforeseen situation for anyone, so it’s still best to be prepared.
If you need their help, reaching SHQ through their helpline is useful to learn confidential information or get a referral for contraception, sexually transmissible infections, and unintended pregnancy.
3. GP Superclinic

Pros
- Open 6 days a week
- Comprehensive one-stop shop for health care
- Available free parking onsite
- Their location is close to rail and public transport
Cons
- Strict billing policies
- Doesn’t perform procedures or medicals on weekends
GP Superclinic is among our preferences as a comprehensive one-stop shop for many health care needs. They have contraception, erectile dysfunction, and STI screening or STD testing in Perth, among others.
Other than sexual health services, they also provide general and customised health check-ups, chronic condition management, antenatal or postnatal care, minor surgical procedures, health and wellness, and more.
We also like that they’re open 6 days a week to accommodate more clients.
Their clinic is easy to find because they’re only opposite the new Midland Hospital. Plus, they’re close to rail and public transport too.
It’s also helpful that there’s available free parking onsite, paid parking across the road, and disabled facilities.
New patients must undergo a thorough health check-up on their first visit. This will be conducted by the clinic’s skilled and professional healthcare team.
Take note that they cannot perform procedures or medicals (including workplace and driver’s medicals) on weekends. It’s better to contact their reception to book in during the week.
They have strict billing policies as well. Some GPs privately bill from 1 pm on weekdays, and all weekend appointments are privately billed.
If you cannot attend your appointment with GP Superclinic, please cancel your appointment at least 4 hours’ notice. Or else, a “did not attend” fee may be charged and payable before your next visit.

Cons

Ridge Medical Centre is one of the clinics to consider since they offer an extensive range of medical services like STI or STD testing in Perth.
They test for numerous infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomonas, HPV, herpes, hepatitis B and C, and HIV.
Healthcare for women, men, and children’s health, vaccination and immunisation programs, travel health and skin cancer checks are also available.
Other sexual health services include contraception and family planning. When needed, counselling and other preventative measures are there as well.
We like that they provide a range of appointments, from 10 to 15 minutes, for standard routine check-ups or removal of an IUCD. This could also take up to 45 minutes if it includes minor surgical procedures like insertion or removal of Implanon or IUDs.
In addition, some clients shared being happy to receive unbiased advice and assistance regarding matters related to sexuality.
The clinic also conveniently accepts cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa, and Mastercard payment methods.
Urgent test results, however, aren’t provided over the phone. Clients must be patient as this sensitive information must be discussed over an appointment.
Should you be interested, Ridge Medical Centre has two clinic locations in Ascot and Baldivis. Clients may either book online or give them a quick call.

- Accepts phone bookings, online appointments, and walk-ins
Cons
- Pricing may be a bit higher than other clinics

As a modern family practice, Nova Medical Centre is one of the best clinics to provide safe, friendly, and professional STI or STD testing in Perth.
Their first clinic opened in Northbridge in 2012, followed by a branch in Stirling and the third in Manning.
We commend that they’re among the few clinics in Perth open every day or 7 days a week – they’re even open 9 to 5 during public holidays!
There are also a lot of open times when you book them for an appointment. Although, some practitioners may not be available on your preferred day.
For sexual health, they offer a multidisciplinary service to screen, test, and treat patients with sexually transmitted diseases or infections (STDs/STIs).
Specialised services at their practice also include pregnancy screening, counselling, and management, fertility counselling services, and contraceptive procedures.
They have an in-house Consultant Paediatrician, Consultant Psychiatrist, and Clinical Psychologist too!
The standard fee for private consultation is $75, while long consults are $120 each. This may be a bit more costly than many clinics in Perth.
However, patients must also abide by their no-show or cancellation fee of $40. This occurs if a booked appointment isn’t cancelled at least 3 hours in advance.
Still, many clients can easily acquire Nova Medical Centre’s services through phone bookings, online appointments, and walk-ins.
