For both beginners and veterans, Iris Boulders is one of our top picks for your next indoor rock climbing in Perth.

Firstly, we like how modern their bouldering wall looks. They are colourful and creative, which we think is motivating and great for photos, especially for newcomers.

Not only that, but it’s also quite spacious. We believe there’s enough space to rest with a good view of all the climbs available.

Beer and coffee lovers would also enjoy their finest blends. Though, we suggest drinking their coffee after, in case you need to avoid the unnecessary jitters.

Their pricing seems reasonable as it’s on par with other rock climbing gyms in Perth. The concession rates may also be slightly cheaper, but clients must follow their strict criteria or bring their required proof of identity.

If you enjoyed your time there and want to keep coming back, we find their memberships helpful – but these can be a tad pricey for some.

Iris Boulders is open every day. Still, make sure to check their varying schedules so you won’t miss it when they open in the morning or afternoon first.

Conveniently, this rock climbing centre provides adequate parking space. Keep in mind that there aren’t many trees for shade, so this area can get hot during midday.

Pros

  • Modern, colourful bouldering walls
  • Spacious area ideal for rest
  • Offers coffee and craft beer
  • Adequate parking space

Cons

  • Memberships may be pricey for some
  • Outside parking may get hot

We recommend The Boulder Hub as one of the top gyms for rock climbing in Perth because of their fun and supportive environment.

From the get-go, their starter pack is wonderful for those new to bouldering. For $30, clients may get 3-day passes, shoes, and chalk hire (if needed).

Since one rock climbing session in Perth usually costs around $20, we can say that their rate offers great value.

It’s also fantastic that they have a great range of beginner to more advanced shoes. This is a good indicator of progress for rock climbers so their skills won’t remain stagnant, in our opinion.

Afterwards, we like that they can extend a 15% discount on the client’s first membership or 10-visit pass. These benefits would likely continuously encourage climbers to keep going.

The only catch is that after activation of the first pass, the final 2 passes must be used within 30 days. So, make sure to use these as soon as possible.

But if you’re looking for free stuff, it’s nice that they provide free monthly progression services too. This is a 1.5-hour training session for anyone wanting to improve their current level.

Yet, this is only limited to 15 participants per month, so you better book in advance.

It seems like The Boulder Hub doesn’t run out of valuable services as well. They even have an active recovery clinic for pain and injuries.

Just note that they have a small gym, so you might have to wait until other people are done. For safety purposes, this would prevent people from falling in the same spot.

Pros

  • Has good programs for beginners
  • Reasonably priced and offers discounts
  • Offers an active recovery clinic
  • Provides free monthly progression services

Cons

  • Small gym with limited capacity
  • Prospects may need to book in advance

To those looking for an adventure, Portside Boulders has one of the most innovative gyms for rock climbing in Perth.

We were in awe of their creative walls. They have 4 different ones and each wall has its unique shape and challenging aspect.

It’s also interesting that they change the bouldering wall challenges every 4 weeks. For us, this keeps things fresh and exciting.

To save time, we advise completing the waiver from their website so you can just focus on rock climbing on the day of your visit.

Remember that if there are 5 or more climbers in your group, you need to put in a group request online. Otherwise, there’s a high possibility that they might refuse service due to the lack of slots.

If you plan to keep coming back, we suggest getting a membership. They’re flexible enough to accept a monthly or annual commitment, and the payments would be debited weekly.

There are tons of benefits to this too, such as unlimited access to the gym, free unlimited studio classes, 10% off for shop purchases, and the like.

Portside Boulders is accessible in 3 locations, and we appreciate that some perks can be applied to all gyms. They’re available in O’Connor, Osborne Park, and Willetton.

These gyms also have different open times, so make sure to check before visiting.

Pros

  • Creative rock climbing walls
  • Innovative and keeps challenges fresh
  • Offers monthly and annual memberships
  • Available in 3 locations

Cons

  • Need to book online for 5 or more climbers
  • Their gyms open at different times

Adrenaline Vault is one of the largest rock climbing centres in Perth. We think they’re ideal for big groups wanting a good time.

It’s also handy that they’re a beginner-friendly space, and caters to people of all ages and fitness levels.

For example, they can be an after-school activity or hobby for kids aged 6 to 17 years old. Besides that, we like that adults could enroll for bouldering classes, lead climbing courses, and lead certifications as well.

But if you just want a one-time adventure, it’s convenient that they can also host a birthday party, school excursion, or corporate team-building event.

Another thing we find interesting about them is their regular events with various themes. Some notable ones are Halloween, Pride Night, and Student Fridays.

For us, this allows people to find other rock-climbing enthusiasts sharing the same interests. Therefore, this makes the sport even more exciting to anticipate.

Nevertheless, note that the gym can get hot and humid at times.

If possible, it might be best to lessen going there during the summer. Otherwise, make sure to stay hydrated at all times.

Adrenaline Vault offers some parking by their building, yet we think this may not be sufficient during peak hours. We suggest getting there early, especially if you plan to park for the whole day.

Pros

  • One of the largest rock climbing centres in Perth
  • Caters to people of all ages and fitness levels
  • Holds regular events with various themes
  • Hosts one-time client events for gatherings

Cons

  • May get hot and humid at times
  • Parking may be insufficient during peak hours

Urban Jungle Indoor Rock Climbing is on our top list as they offer a functional training gym and rock climbing space in Perth.

First of all, we believe it’s helpful that they have various classes depending on their customers’ age.

For one thing, kids and teenagers may book their Youth Climbing classes. We appreciate that they’ve designed this course around the school term, so this wouldn’t be in the way of their schooling.

Moreover, couples may also take their 2-on-1 personalised training program. In our opinion, this could be a fun date alternative that also improves physical and mental health.

Their membership is also impressively filled with tons of perks. Members get unlimited access to the climbing and the functional fitness area, 15% off on stocked items, and priority access to events.

Another membership benefit we love is the privilege to skip the queue. There are times when their staff entertains many people, and this is certainly a leg up.

We suggest contacting Urban Jungle Indoor Rock Climbing beforehand to ensure that slots are open. They get booked pretty quickly beforehand, so walking in may not be the best move.

In addition, their rock climbing experience may also be the perfect gift. Their gift certificate expires 3 years from the date of purchase, so it’s long enough to last for any occasion you’re saving it up for.

Pros

  • Functional training gym
  • Various classes based on customers’ age
  • Their membership has tons of perks
  • The gift certificates last 3 years

Cons

  • Clients may need to call first to ensure slots
  • They get fully booked easily
