Pros
- Located by the picturesque Claisebrook Lake
- Offers local and international beers and great Guinness pints
- Adequate food options for starters and mains
- Provides theme nights and live music
Cons
- Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
- Other booked events may interfere with the solo diners
The Claisebrook Bar is one of our recommended pubs in Perth. It’s among the small pubs by the picturesque Claisebrook Lake, which improves the dining ambience.
Many customers make the most of their weekends here since the bar is only closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
They offer a variety of local and international beers, from Tennents and Brewdog from Scotland to the local Western Australian brewers. Several enthusiasts also claim this pub has some of the best pints of Guinness drinks in Perth.
For the food options, they have a selection of burgers popular with the regulars. Other than that, you may enjoy their haggis spring rolls, scotch egg, highland sliders with black pudding, and the like.
Their starters and mains range from $12 (sour cream and sweet chilli wedges) to $36 (300 g scotch fillet). Make sure to check their pub boards for daily specials so you can try their best options.
In addition to their good food and drinks, they provide theme nights and live music as well. They usually post about these events on social media so customers can pencil these into their schedules early.
While they remain open to the public, there are times when other booked events in the pub would be held as well. A client shared that this slightly interfered with his initial experience although he believed The Claisebrook Bar was still worth another visit.

Pros
- Has 3 central locations in Perth
- Offers original ’80s and ’90s arcade machines
- Good number of pizza options
- Available delivery option
Cons
- Ordering for later may not allow same-day services
- Some machines are damaged
If you’re looking for something different, The Palace Arcade is one of the pubs in Perth offering original arcade machines from the ’80s and ’90s. This brings nostalgia and amusement to many of their customers.
Some drinkers also commend their fine craft beers and cocktails. Their menu also includes a lot of pizza (Pepperoni, Mediterranean, Hawaiian, Slice of the Month, and more), chicken tenders, wings, fries, and salads.
But if you prefer to eat at home, it’s also convenient that they deliver their food. We like that customers can have an option to order now or for later.
When ordering for later, keep in mind that this might not be a same-day service as well. The earliest pickup date could be at least 2 days from the time of order.
Customers may also book events in their 3 central locations in Perth – Northbridge, Victoria Park, and Fremantle. Their functions cater from 16 to 200 guests and have packages to suit most budgets.
The Palace Arcade has a consistent schedule in all branches, but the hours vary slightly on their work week. This may be confusing at first, so it’s advisable to check the available hours before your visit.
Just note that some machines in the pub may be damaged or need some repairs. Check the games before playing so you won’t regret losing money on your arcade card.

Pros
- Certified beer servers as guides
- Has 20 beer taps on constant rotation
- Offers light snacks to decent meals
- Open every day
Cons
- Limited menu options
- Cash payments aren’t accepted
Beer Corner is among our favourite pubs in Perth – they’re known to have some of the best brews from Western Australia and around the world.
From the get-go, they have many beer taps (around 20) with unique beers on constant rotation. These are a lot of drinks to try out, especially for first-timers.
Customers may also check their projection board behind or ask their certified beer servers to know the most current pourings.
Many customers commend their knowledgeable team as well. They’ll guide you through the nuances of each drink to enjoy.
Additionally, they have various wines (like sparkling, white, and red) and cocktails (like vodka sour, Paloma, and whiskey highball). Their food also ranges from light pretzels, salads, and local cheeses to sandwiches and burgers.
However, a few previous customers think that their menu options are limited and a bit overpriced.
For the payment options, be aware that cash payments may not be accepted as well. To avoid the hassle, it’s best to have your cards with you.
But, all credit and debit card transactions with them incur a processing fee of 0.7% to 1.50%. Only their EFTPOS card transactions don’t incur a fee.
Should you be interested, Beer Corner is open every day from 11:30 am until late. This exempts Sundays, which start from noon until late.

Pros
- Caters to various dietary requirements
- Provides non-alcoholic beverages
- Available parking space around the pub
- Wheelchair accessible via an elevator
Cons
- Strict refund policy
- The underground level is only available by appointment
Lyric’s Bar is one of our top picks to enjoy your food and drinks with live music. They have daily events and gigs that attract prospects and entertain regulars.
Some of their food options include fried cassava crackers, roasted cashews, chicken bites, wedges, lettuce cups, burgers, cheeses, and the like.
They’re also among the few pubs in Perth to offer a diverse and considerate menu. They have gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, and nut-free options, catering to different dietary requirements.
It was also helpful that their menu is labelled with these food preferences – customers won’t have to keep asking the staff which items would be safe to eat.
Their beverages consist of numerous wines and cocktails too. People who don’t consume alcohol also won’t be left out, since non-alcoholic fruity cocktails and flavoured wine alternatives would be provided.
This bar can also accommodate event functions. Customers may book on their ground level (regular pub area) or underground level (only by appointment).
Just note that a non-refundable 50% deposit on all pre-ordered food must be paid 7 days before your event (on orders of $150 or more).
We appreciate that their location is also wheelchair accessible via an elevator, so more customers can feel welcome to visit.
Parking is available on Seventh and Eighth Avenue and Wilson’s parking by the Liquor Barons. Lyric’s Bar’s website also provides a parking guide around the Maylands area.

Pros
- Located around the corner of Perth’s cultural precinct
- Diverse menu from seasonal local produce
- Offers vegetarian and vegan choices
- Lots of wine options
Cons
- Limited booking slots
- Cash is no longer accepted
Located in the heart of Northbridge on William Street, Alex Hotel’s Shadow Wine Bar is among the pubs in Perth with excellent West Australian produce and European wines.
We believe this pub is great for those who want to escape the bustle of the street and relax in classic European dining.
Since the pub is tucked around the corner of Perth’s cultural precinct, many customers pop by for a pre-gallery supper or post-show drinks. Not only can they be immersed in art and culture, but they can also be satisfied with the pub’s classic menu.
This menu changes with the seasons to ensure they plate the best local produce. Diverse options from local oysters with lemon myrtle for the entree to the crowd-favourite prawn spaghetti are also available.
Theor vegetarian and vegan options present the versatility of their plant-based dishes with various flavours. We think people with different preferences can eat something tasty here.
Of course, the whole experience wouldn’t be complete without their wine bar. As the pub focuses on great local wineries, customers can drink anything from celebratory sparkling wines to full-bodied blends.
It’s best to book Alex Hotel’s Shadow Wine Bar in advance since they have limited timeslots. Their tables are also allocated for a maximum of 120 minutes, enough for diners to have a decent experience.
However, cash is no longer accepted with them, but you can pay via EFTPOS, credit card, or Apple Pay.
