Pros
- Has been a not-for-profit organisation for over 45 years
- Offers a wide scope of screenings, advice, and treatments
- Longer opening hours on Wednesdays
- Provides inclusivity for the disabled
- Fees are negotiable based on financial hardships
Cons
- Usually gets a high number of costing enquiries
- Strict cancellation or no attendance policy
Women’s Health & Family Services (WHFS) is on our list since they’ve been supporting many Western Australian women, children, and families since 1977.
Programs at WHFS include medical, counselling, drug and alcohol support, domestic violence, mental health and the like.
Apart from cervical screenings like Pap smears in Perth, they offer screenings, advice, and treatment for a wide scope of women’s health issues – contraception, Implanon and IUD insertion, pregnancy testing, and more.
Creche facilities and interpreting services are also available. For the latter, they have bilingual workers who can happily assist clients when needed.
Their nurses also share clinical health counselling and support services over the phone. They reassured us that the information from these services would remain confidential.
We also commend their generous inclusivity for the disabled!
If a client has a hearing or speech impairment, they may call using the National Relay Service instructions on their website. Their new building is also wheelchair accessible, with adequate ramp access and elevators.
It was also helpful that fees can be negotiated based on financial hardships. Just make sure to discuss this at the time of booking and before your consultation so they can accommodate.
Though, they usually receive a high number of costing enquiries so it might take some time before they can answer.
They’re also strict with late cancellations or no attendance. If necessary, we advise cancelling by 5:00 pm the day before the appointment to avoid a late fee of $25.
For your reference, Women’s Health & Family Services also has two locations – one on Northbridge and the other on Joondalup.

Pros
- Conveniently located at Butler Central Shopping Centre
- Offers many slots for online booking
- Provides telehealth services
- Their practice is available in numerous areas
Cons
- Few practitioners for online consultations
- Costly cancellation fees
Getting a Pap smear in Perth or anywhere else may be uncomfortable. That’s why this should be done by professionals like the Butler Family Practice, a modern GP-owned and managed practice on our recommendations.
For consumers, they’re also conveniently located at Butler Central Shopping Centre, next to Priceline pharmacy and Woolworths’ pick-up service.
It was amazing that they aim to minimise waiting times for clients too. Their seamless online booking offers a bunch of available times for General Practice and Women’s Health.
Nevertheless, they only have a limited number of practitioners to handle these so it’s best to book them in advance.
Even though these consultations are usually short (around 10 to 20 minutes), we’re glad that longer consultations may be offered if clients need extra time.
Aside from their cervical cancer screening (the new Pap Smear test), they provide pregnancy care, fertility assessments, sexual health screenings, and more.
We also appreciate that prospects may reach them through their telehealth services (telephone and video).
But, it’s important to consider their cancellation fees too. These are $40 and $80 for short and long consults respectively, which are a tad higher than how other clinics in Perth charge for cancellations.
Nonetheless, they make sure to accommodate everyone who reaches out. Their reception staff told us they monitor emails twice a day and strive to respond within 24 to 48 hours.
If you’re interested, the Butler Family Practice is also available in numerous areas – Butler, Jindalee, Alkimos, Quinns Rocks, Ridgewood, Eglinton, Merriwa, Clarkson, Mindarie, and surrounding suburbs.

Pros
- Holistic and culturally-sensitive environment
- All services are available in person and over the phone
- Lots of weekly programs to choose from
- Comprehensive calendar of activities
- Offers free services as a not-for-profit organisation
Cons
- Their health clinic is open only 4 days a week
- Many of their services require an appointment
If you’re looking to get a Pap smear in Perth at a holistic and culturally-sensitive facility, Ishar Multicultural Women’s Health Services may give you both familiarity and reassurance.
First of all, it’s easy to reach them as all their services are available either in person or over the phone.
They also have a tonne of weekly programs to choose from. For reference, a comprehensive calendar of activities is available on their website.
To ensure a comfortable experience, a team of female doctors, supported by a nurse and midwife, address issues of female reproductive health and antenatal care. Their services also include cervical screening, breast checks, contraception, and more.
We’re happy that they provide a free service provided by their practice nurse that includes routine cervical screens or Pap smears too.
Moreover, they give blood pressure checks, contraceptive options, weight guidance, unplanned pregnancy advice, and general well-being discussions.
But even though they’re open from Mondays to Fridays, their women’s health clinic is only open from Tuesdays onwards. Additionally, many of their services are only available by appointment.
Aside from medical services, they give several classes as well such as Latin dance, English language, exercise, and yoga.
Should you want to reach them, the quickest way to book an appointment with Ishar Multicultural Women’s Health Services is via phone.

Pros
- Over 20 years of experience
- Ample parking which also caters to the disabled
- Location is ideal for patients in various areas
- Comprehensive family and individual services
Cons
- May run a little late to some appointments
- Closed on Sundays
Established for over 20 years, Mindarie Keys Medical Centre is among the best clinics that can provide you with Pap smear tests in Perth.
Located north of Joondalup City, they’re situated in a small shopping plaza between a chemist and a dental clinic. There is also ample parking as well as disabled parking and facilities on site.
We like that they offer comprehensive family and individual services too. This includes women’s and sexual health, specialised skin cancer checks and surgeries, and childhood immunisations.
Not only that but they also cater to men’s health, chronic disease management, work cover, pre-employment assessments, and travel vaccinations.
Although, a few practitioners may run a little late to some of the appointments. While this happens only occasionally, this is still something that needs improvement.
If you need it, home visits are available on Mondays to Fridays too. There is an out-of-pocket fee of $200 per patient, to be paid at the time of your booking.
Payment can be made by cash, credit card, or EFTPOS as well. Many clients appreciate that this clinic informed them of any extra costs involved in their treatment or procedure beforehand.
Altogether, Mindarie Keys Medical Centre would be ideal for plenty of patients in the areas of Ocean Keys, Quinns Rocks, Burns Beach, Clarkson, Kinross, Merriwa, Jindalee, Ridgewood, Butler, and Neerabup.

Pros
- Offers same-day appointments
- Reasonable pricing
- Has bilingual doctors
- Provides reminders for preventative care
Cons
- May be overbooked at times
- Some appointments might get messed up
Whether it’s just a general check-up or Pap smears in Perth, we like that the Baldivis Family Medical Centre is among the top clinics offering tests and treatments for individuals’ total care.
From the beginning, clients can effortlessly locate them in front of Mary Davies Library & Community Centre.
But, what we liked most about them is their same-day appointments. This makes their healthcare accessible to everyone at almost anytime.
For women’s health, they have preventive medicine, including routine procedures such as mammograms, Pap smears, self-breast examination education, and the like.
But while they’re open on Mondays to Fridays, their services are still subject to the availability of their staff. Walk-ins are also accepted whenever possible, but their priority is given to the patients with pre-booked appointments.
To communicate in the best way possible, they also have doctors who can speak a few languages other than English.
Clients without a Medicare card also usually pay $75 for a short consult and $110 for a long consult. This is around the average price of many Perth clinics.
As a policy for discussing urgent results, the patient’s doctor or nurse will contact them via their telephone number. Otherwise, a letter will be forwarded to their address.
We also appreciate how caring they are with their reminder system for preventative care. All in all, Baldivis Family Medical Centre presents much flexibility with its appointments and services.
They get booked a lot on some days, though. We advise you to contact them beforehand to avoid being double-booked like a client who shared his experience.
