I’ve never been a maths whizz, so hearing that my son was falling behind in the subject caused a mild panic attack. The timing couldn’t have been worse either. He was heading into Year 11 and hoping to achieve a high ATAR.
Fortunately, we invested in a highly qualified maths tutor, and it proved worthwhile. A few months of structured lessons with quick feedback boosted his understanding and confidence.
If you’re after the same results, the best math tutors in Perth below are known for making maths simpler for both struggling students and those ahead of the curve.
And if your child also needs help with other subjects, we have a list of the top tutoring centres in the area.

Classes at the 1993-founded Ace Tutoring are capped at 6 students per session. As a result, classrooms build rapport fast, and students don’t have to queue up for feedback.
Lessons being highly interactive is another of the setup’s perks. You see, the centre keeps classes hands-on rather than lecture-heavy.
Generic worksheets are binned too; each lesson is traditionally built around a learner’s struggles. That’s why their staff focuses on identifying weak points ASAP, preventing such gaps from snowballing.
Just prepare extra cash for the assessment. Unlike most local joints, it comes with a cost.
Their history of switching tutors isn’t a pro either. A few parents share this gripe.
We’re not saying their system is busted, though. Interviewees report a jump of between 44%–68% and 46%–70% in their grades.
Format variety is the cherry on top. You can learn online, in person, at home, and via workshops.

Peak Education is a peak choice for those who need help with Year 9–12 ATAR maths. We say that because sessions here primarily aim for two things: grasping maths theory and exam-style questions.
Class sizes are on the smaller side as well. Last time we called, the staff mentioned a limit of 6–8 students per class, something the interviewees verified.
For my part, it’s the structured model that students and parents should look forward to. They revise lessons from previous meetings, so learning isn’t shaped by short-term cramming.
You can also get ahead of the pack by enrolling in specialised courses, like the one offered in summer. Covering an entire term’s content in 9 days is pretty neat, isn’t it?
The problem is you’ll most likely be seated next to high achievers, which often leads to a high-pressure setting.
What’s more, Peak’s terms typically run for 2 whole months.
Hugely Beneficial
AMAZING! We are so please we found Peak as it has made a huge difference to my son’s schooling and helped him to get into Engineering. First term year 11, his Methods maths mark was below 50. He wanted to try tutoring because methods is a pre-requisite for engineering. From the trial session, he found it hugely beneficial and decided to stay on. Peak taught different and ‘easier’ methods to solve problems, and he learnt how to solve questions and the maths behind it which made all the difference.
His maths improved so much, he got over 85 for his recent year 12 mock exam.
Peak saved study time as the 3 hours he spent in tutoring was the equivalent to doing well over 10 hours or more on his own.
The lessons were enjoyable (so he told me) and he made a great group of friends. The have been meeting all the time and studying for their exams together in the state library (including other subjects such as physics, chem and English).
Thank you Peak – I’m hoping my youngest son wants to do PEAK as well as the results have been incredible AND more than that, he has really enjoyed it which has made all the difference.

Always Willing to Help
Peak Education is a tutoring service that provides term courses, holiday courses and exam prep courses. During year 11 and 12 I took the maths methods term course and couldn’t recommend it more. The course provides high quality theory books, work booklets, revision booklets and test preparation kits to ensure you are prepared for the topics. The resources and service are amazing. Tristan and his team are very helpful and are always willing to help you with any questions you have. I can’t recommend the course enough.

Good luck finding average tutors at Everest. The centre is home to maths instructors who’ve scored 99-plus in ATAR.
What’s cool is they’re not just people who aced exams. You can rely on them to teach exam strategies effectively.
Do note, however, that Everest started in 2022. We have centres above and below with decades of history.
There’s a fair bit of demand as well. They cover Year 4–12 subjects and students readying for ATAR, GATE, UCAT, and even school-based projects.
On the bright side, support is provided 24/7 through Discord and Instagram. One DM can sort out your problems.
Or you can simply have a squiz at Everest’s resources. Detailed notes and worksheets loaded with exam-style questions are regularly handed out to students.
Past that, classrooms max out at 7 learners, free trials are on hand, and they have four locations across Perth.
Very Helpful
My daughter has been with Everest Harrisdale Tutoring for half year, and I can see her improvement in English subject. Hari and the team have been very helpful and have done a great job. Highly recommended.

The whole team was very friendly
I would highly recommend everest tutors to your child, because, my oldest son use to get C grade in his term tests. After starting with everest his grades went up to high B or A. My younger son always 3rd or 4th place in the class. Now he is number one and all his assessments get 100%. They give on going homework, a meeting with parents to discuss your child’s progress. The whole team was very friendly and open to discuss any thing, anytime. They also kindly assist with payment plans as well, so helpfull. You are making a positive path for your child with everest tutors. Love them.❤️

There’s a good reason high-achieving Year 11 and 12 students enrol in Elite Tutoring.
For starters, complex subjects such as Maths Methods and Applications are overseen by Daksh Parashar. He’s a professional chemical engineer who has been tutoring for over 10 years.
That’s often made obvious by his digestible approach. One recurring feedback is Daksh’s ability to simplify difficult topics, with many also claiming he ensures a student fully grasps a lesson before moving forward.
In terms of pricing, it’s normally decided by a student’s needs. Rates are provided after the no-cost consults (trials are also free!).
Scope is one area in which Elite Tutoring doesn’t excel. If you’re not in Year 11 or 12, it’s best to look for another centre.
The limited tutor count could be a deal-breaker for some as well. Daksh carries most of the load here.
Confidence in Maths Has Really Soared
Daksh has been helping my daughter with her year 8 maths. Her confidence in maths has really soared and we are happy with her results as they continue to improve overall. Daksh’s fees are also very reasonable. I would highly recommend Daksh to anyone who is looking for a maths tutor for their child through the highschool years.

Super Helpful
Without a doubt one of the best tutors w have found!! Both my sons go to Daksh (Yr11 and Yr12) and both have found his lessons super helpful and they are really enjoying their work with him. They are doing physics and maths methods. I’m so disappointed we didn’t find him earlier, as I would have had the boys booked in from start of the year. 100% highly recommend!!

Preparing students for GATE is Loyola Tutoring’s specialty. Hard to argue with that when, in 2025, two of their students scored past 300 while 42 went beyond the 250 mark.
The Loyola Way training is one reason they smash it. Tutors undergo a three-month program so they can break down topics clearly without boring a soul.
Another factor behind their GATE success is the fact that students go through over 2,000 practice questions. Attending in-person and online reviews, mock exams, and regular classes also helps.
Lines of communication are kept open, too. Students usually receive answers and progress reports quickly.
We suggest booking a spot fast, though. Loyola is arguably this review’s most in-demand option, and the free trial week only adds to the popularity.
Their class sizes can go up to 10 learners as well. Though small by traditional standards, we brought up centres that restrict classes to 6 students.
Made a Real Difference
As a parent, I’ve been genuinely impressed with how Loyola has supported my child through their GATE exam preparation. The way they teach both the basics and the more advanced problem‑solving topics has made a real difference in my child’s confidence. Melvin is patient, thorough, and always willing to spend extra time clearing doubts or checking in on progress, which gave us a lot of reassurance at home. With strong study materials and a well‑structured approach, Loyola has created an environment where students stay motivated and focused. It’s been a truly positive experience, and I’m grateful for the dedication they show to every student’s success.

Consistently Reliable
My experience with Loyola’s tuition program has been genuinely impressive. They were consistently reliable and made sure every class detail was communicated clearly through both email and WhatsApp. That level of organisation really showed how strong their communication system is.
What stood out even more was that they delivered exactly what they promised. They committed to providing a final push with extra classes, a mock exam, and additional questionnaires — and they followed through on all of it. That dedication made a real difference in my child’s GATE preparations.
Overall, Loyola demonstrated professionalism, consistency, and a genuine commitment to student success. I’m very satisfied with their service.
