A home theatre is a hefty spend, so banking on a highly-certified crew like Home Theatre Engineering is a Perth-smart move. They flex paperwork from HAA, ISF, THX, CEDIA, and PVA.
And yes, the badges above mean you can book them for the entire job. Think design, video calibration, and acoustic treatments.
Above all, the results are worth the top dollar. Enzo and Andrew’s work earned lots of praise from our interviewees. They gave props to the duo’s ability to maximise equipment and space, including difficult spots like dark rooms and open living areas.
Just note that you can’t lock them in instantly. The two are sought-after not only in Perth.

The fact that they give away their vast knowledge via their YouTube channel is testament to their belief that everyone deserves to hear and see movies the way they were intended. Even though I live 5,000km away in a different country and have never met Andrew and Enzo in the flesh, they have embraced technology to deliver an upgrade to my cinema that I could never have imagined. Universal brings 15-plus years to the table. That’s nearly two decades of tuning up home theatres.
What I like most is that they generally leave no gap. Aside from offering design, installation, automation, seating, and acoustic treatment services, this bunch can supply the audio-visual component and train you on how to use it.
Based on what we’ve seen and heard, their projects are secure, visually clean, and space-efficient. Tricky walls aren’t that much of an issue either.
The call-out fees might be a snag, though. If you’re looking for a quick setup or fix, forking over $185 to $225 is a wonky play.
Universal not having weekend hours can be a downside, too, depending on your availability.
But hey, their technicians are a breeze to deal with. I got Marco before (although for TV mounting), and the guy’s know-how and attitude deserve 5 stars.

These folks also tick the “scope box,” thanks to a 100-plus-project portfolio featuring residential and commercial clients.
Staff members like Josh are solid in clients’ eyes, too. Most interviewees brought up the guy’s skill in remedying problems within minutes.
A minor hiccup is the company’s tenure. The 2021 opening is relatively new, especially since most entries have at least 10 years in the bag.
Plus, HIFI HUNTER’s crew is relatively smaller. That can result in scheduling hitches.
On a more positive note, the same consultants will oversee the design, installation, and support. These are professionals with certificates/diplomas in electrical engineering, interior design, automation, project management, and programming!

Nah, TV Magic’s magic isn’t limited to fixing antennas and repairing tellies (like these pros). In fact, they’ve been installing home theatres for more than 20 years now.
Just look at their past projects; the number is over 600. Better yet, it’s ITX-certified and Dolby-trained pros who installed them.
Some reckon the pricing is too high, though. A few clients also grumbled over late email responses.
The upsides? Our team wasn’t charged when we rang them for estimates, and the majority of clients we had chatted with described them as efficient.
No surprises either, as TV Magic kicks things off with consults regarding topics like the budget and tech. Once that’s sorted, a consultant will come up with a personalised package.
Their guys are typically polite and prompt as well. Matt, for instance, is said to be friendly and turns up when he says he will (on-site inspections are offered).

West Coast Hi-Fi has been in the game since 1989, so yeah, they’re an ideal choice for homeowners who value longevity most.
You also get two paths here: go for ready-made packages or fully bespoke. The former is handy, since bits like projectors and screens are bundled, but the personalised route isn’t dodgy either, considering they offer free on-site inspections.
Personally, I’d swing for the custom-built option, and the promos are a huge part of why. If your timing is savvy, deals like a $200–$600 cashback for Yamaha AV receivers can be nabbed.
The in-store service could use some tweaks, though. It takes a while to get assisted there, which is bad news for total novices.
Not everyone is also happy with the Sonos system they got from West Coast, citing issues like shabby sound quality.
But to be fair, they stock other top brands, including Epson and Sony.

West Coast Hi-Fi is easily the best place if you want to upgrade your home theatre system.
