Pros
- Very efficient through whole process
- Uses microsuction removal
Cons
- Will still charge for appointment if no wax is found
- Will charge even if procedure isn’t finished due to safety concerns
The Ear Suction Clinic is a convenient place to reach out to because they accept same-day appointments and don’t require referrals from a GP. They also offer appointments on Sundays and after hours.
What we like about them is their micro-suction removal process, which foregoes the syringing process altogether. Because this process doesn’t touch sensitive areas of the ear, it’s considered a safer option.
The reason we recommend going for it, though, is because it’s a lot quicker. In our experience, it will take less than half an hour to get the whole removal done.
We should note, though, that they will still charge you for the appointment ieven if it turns out you have very minimal or no wax. Make sure that’s really the problem you have before coming in.
The staff here is very welcoming and explains everything with ease. This can be very helpful if you’re nervous or you’re bringing a child that has never gotten their ears cleaned.
We found them to be very efficient from start to finish. You can book online or give them a call.
If you have some more questions about the process, we suggest giving them a call first. Their reception is pretty accommodating.
Overall, we think their service is great. Whether you get their nursing home visit or go to the actual clinic, it’s a pretty consistent experience.

Pros
- Very well-versed in hearing issues
- Gentle and efficient
Cons
- Paid parking required
- No online booking platform (aside from email or web form)
Although Hear and Spin is mostly known for their work with hearing aids, we also find them a worthy recommendation for ear cleaning in Perth.
They use microsuction removal, and they’re very proficient with severe build-up. We also like that they conduct a variety of tests should you feel other symptoms or hearing issues.
The whole process is thorough and you can feel that everything is done with care. In our experience, consultations are also pretty enlightening when it comes to learning different options moving forward.
They offer home services, but their in-house services are what we experienced and can confidently vouch for. The reception staff is friendly and helpful, and you don’t have long wait times.
Everyone here is very professional and friendly, which can do wonders in making the experience even a little more comfortable. They’re very gentle with their wax removal, too.
They’ll doublecheck after the procedure to make sure it’s all in order and they will check on you for any additional concerns and care.

Pros
- Lots of ways to book online
- Amazing staff with very attentive care
Cons
- Shared location with other clinics, so lots of foot traffic at times
- Limited parking options with accessibility
Earworx has a lot of branches in Perth, but we recommend the Joondalup one the most. It has the most consistent performance, and we found the ambiance of the space really refreshing.
You can pick the specific branch you want through their online booking systems, and you can also specify your preference if you give them a call.
The registered nurses at Earworx are generally very careful yet efficient with their ear wax removal. We can comfortably recommend any branch if you have one that might be nearer or more convenient for you.
We do want to commend the staff at the Joondalup clinic for being great, both in skill and demeanour. Everyone is very empathetic and helpful, with friendly reception that is attentive to every patient.
The team is led by nurse Tabitha Blake, and we find her ear cleaning methods precise and thorough. In our experience, she is very patient and nicely balances a light mood with explaining everything clearly so you’re not in the dark.
She listens to any concerns and is very knowledgeable in her field. Best of all, she is proficient in both simple cleaning and more complicated removals.
Going there for a booking without ear wax will still result in a fee, but luckily, it’s just half the total. We recommend making sure you actually have wax to be cleaned before making an appointment.
Booking is really smooth, so getting an appointment isn’t hard. We definitely recommend Earworx if you need good regular ear cleaning in Perth.

Pros
- Uses safe advanced techniques for better results
- Lots of parking space
Cons
- Fees have recently increased
- Online booking is sometimes down
What we like about Primary Care Ear Clinic is how extensive their services are. It makes sense, considering they are run by general practitioners that are well-versed in a variety of problems.
Although it is not needed, the staff encourages bringing a GP referral when you visit. If you are in need of more in-depth hearing assessments, they will also gladly give you a referral for the right place.
In terms of service, the staff here is great to interact with. Dr Robert Green leads the practice, and he himself displays a very warm attitude.
He explains everything clearly and doesn’t mind when you have questions. We also find that he is very understanding about any nerves or hesitation.
We like how he can let you know about your buildup from a medical standpoint without it feeling too intimidating. In terms of the actual ear cleaning, the process truly works well.
Here, they use an advanced microscope and microsuction technique that makes the process even more thorough than general microsuction techniques.
We find their approach great and it’s easy to feel safe under their care.
They have an online booking platform, although we honestly feel that calling them is more effective. Their booking link occasionally goes down, so you’re more likely to get a consistent response from reaching out to their number.

Pros
- Cosy and welcoming environment
- Personalised and caring approach
Cons
- Wait times can be occasionally longer than expected
- Not as receptive to negative feedback
Brad Hutchinson Hearing has multiple locations as well, and while each one is great, we really recommend the North Perth branch for their level of care.
If you’re just coming in for some ear cleaning, you won’t need any referral. That said, you may need one if you’re also planning to get diagnostic assessments or you’re seeking out health fund support.
Naturally, the space is run by Brad Hutchinson as principal audiologist, but the whole crew of specialists is worth seeking treatment from. The staff is very friendly, kind, and understanding in our experience.
We also appreciate that they make an effort to find solutions that suit you not only medically but also financially. Brad and team are also very good at handling both seniors and children from what we’ve seen.
This can be very helpful, considering the fact that ear wax removal (despite being relatively risk-free) still requires the patient to be comfortable and sit still. Professionalism and efficiency seem to be reliable characteristics you can find here.
We should note that some of their services are on the pricer side despite efforts to price match, but you should be largely unaffected by these issues if you are merely going for ear cleaning in Perth.
